Lovely looking fish I had a couple when my 9ft was a reef tank, lost my prize fish in my french angel and chevron tang and turned it into a discus tank, far easier. Hope he does well, look forward to watching him or her grow

Hey Steve-- Not sure a one minute fresh dip does anything but cause some stress. 7 minutes is the magic #, although that would be with a fish that has already been acclimated and you're doing a dip because he has issues. Why not just keep in the seperate tank and treat with copper if you're concerned? Tank lookin' good!

yeah, agreed the 1 minute doesn't do much. kinda gives me peace of mind....probably not necessary. i do qt for 6 weeks in mild dose cupramine as you know. thanks for the comment!

What happens if he gets too big in 4-5 years and the aquarium can’t take it because of all the other fish keepers who also buy these juveniles and say “I’ll donate it”? Surely they also have limited capacity?

I can't predict the future but I'm sure there aren't hundreds of people turning fish in to the very large Chicago aquarium.

no, they will die. you can let them swim in a freshwater bath for 30 seconds to a minute.
