Lotus = "Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious" was genius 🤣
I almost died when i first heard that and its pinpoint accurate :D
I think it's one of those things like "Found On Road Dead" or "Fix It Again Tony" that have been around for decades.
It didnt age well and even Jeremy was surprised by how problem free the Esprit was in that road trip
Surprised you haven’t heard it before. It’s a famous joke going back a long time.
BMW = Break My Wallet
James: The Porsche 928
Jeremy: Yes
James: Fascinating, HAMMOND!
He is too funny
Made me geek so hard
Love the genuine laugh moments those 3 had
That was really funny 🤣🤣🤣🤣
WOWZA
The chemistry between these three is what all morning shows, talk shows, evening shows, midnight shows dream about.
BBC haven’t made a good decision in decades
*Laughing in Kate Abdo and the boys + Micah*
You simply cannot buy it. The show was about three great mates and you can't fake or replicate genuine friendship. Makes them harder to control though because if you lose 1 you lose them all which obviously happened.
True dat
Have a look at Throttle House. Can’t get enough of these two !
that fucking cut at the end as James comes rolling in from the background 😂
Yes, it was annoying.
it was the best! hahahah
Plot twist, he wasn't driving...
nah it was incredible@@simonkevnorris
idk if it was deliberate or not but it was great
And I was the first to arrive.
😂
And as you'd expect, I've done this properly.
Well, how hard can it be?
that's one creative way to say "first comment" xD
Still, could be worse.
I love how James immediately knew Hammond had brought the mustang.
It shows how much they know each other tastes
If one of them picks a 928 its jeremy
@@Venislovas Errr, no. It shows that they all know well in advance who is driving what. They sit down with the director & producer at production meetings in the UK to plan each programme thoroughly months in advance.
@@chrisharris749 What a fittingly dull name for a buzzkill
@@Red_Beard2798 It's true though, otherwise those punchlines wouldn't work.
James getting out of the Lotus in that suit... I absolutely HATE how cool that looked.
Not half as much as Hammond and Jeremy did I bet.
Best Car of the Challenge aswell. James Just owned Patagonia by a Long Shot.
The Lotus ended up as the best and most reliable car in the challenge hands down 😅
until it had to be abandoned becuz of a bunch of Argentinian sore losers
Do you know which season and episode this was? Also top gear or the grand tour?
If you know, you know
@@Martinbj1992tg a special if I recall, Patagonia I think
@@Martinbj1992don’t know the number of season or episode but it is the Argentinian one, and it’s top gear
7:29 This trick actually helped me out during a trip to the UK to visit a friend who had that exact car. He lost his key and was about to call a mechanic to come start the car so he could at least get to work.
I said hold my coke and flipped the ol hazard warning light upside down like I remembered from top gear. Even drove me back to the airport at the end of the week using the same trick.
I have always wondered how someone figured that out!
@levimoore2344 Probably because something broke and needed taking apart and when reassembling it putting the ol hazard warning light upside down, which then jumpstarted the car. I would like to have been in that room though. It was such a childlike surprise when I first saw this, that I've been wanting to do it myself ever since
Where'd you get the resistor required to jump the middle pins to make this hack actually work?
So you made a trip to the UK on a date on or after 2014 and happened to encounter a car not produced in 20 years, which was very rare in '14
James excited laugh after Hammond says he has a Mach 1 is so genuine and fun
These specials are the best television ever made. Fact.
The Bolivia Special is one of my favorite TV programs.
Agreed. Also the Vietnam Special is some of the best television ever made. Its still great.
hard to disagree. it just universally entertains. i havent seen anyone not enjoy it and ive shown it to people who both hate cars and werent really keen on watching at all.
Describing James as "The elephant that isn't in the room" is too good 😂
12:26 - Overlooked comedy gold! xD xD xD
James: The River Kwai's not in Thailand
Jeremy: Yes it is, The River Kwai is in Thailand
Richard: Where's Thailand?
Hammond is simply clueless
Spoken like a true American
I love this compilations but I always get so disappointed the episode doesn’t continue 😂
The special where they find the true source of the Nile River, Hammond was indeed, the smartest one out of the three for choosing the Subi.
But he didn’t win the race and by the end of it his car broke down multiple times so not really completely brilliant
"the porsche 928, fascinating....HAMMOND 😂😂😂 (what an opening line)
As an Englishman, i have to say, that the V8 Mustang was the dog's balls. Prettiest car ever made. Only i had to learn how to corner 20 feet before the bend because the car was so long on English roads. I took that 77 fastback all around Europe, and met my wife there. Then i converted it to a 2.8 Granada V6 and got a few more years out of it, before it got scrapped due to severe rust....
These are always one of the best parts of the show because it's just them standing around taking the mick
4:42 James entrance
He's a fucking Legend 😅
0:08 has lived rent free in my head for 20 years
There's no OG 100 pound car and teenage car meetup! that should be put there too!
Gotta be honest, I'm in the same boat with Hammond when it comes to the Mach-1. 1971 to '73 model years aren't exactly Mustang perfection, at least from a design point, but I can't help but love it
We can't hate something that looks cool. Sure, it might be unreliable. Sure, it might be fragile. Sure it might consume fuel like Nicocado Avocado consume junk foods. But dang it looks cool and I love it.
Lotus standing for “lots of trouble, usually serious” is killing me 🤣🤣
For anyone wondering what Jeremy is playing on his stereo it is the track Supper's Ready by Genesis on their live album Seconds Out
best trio and concept in the whole history of television
Never noticed that May burns his hand in the back at 11:37
I think he scraped his hand on the paint cause it was chipping off
That thing had enough time to cool down by that time
@@andreiionescu205the sun
The ending is world shattering.
Why would u do us like that lmaooo
Hahahahhaha. Love it. In the background at 14:56 May is pushing his car to the meet up
Shamefully, it was cutoff before the end of this video
best meet up line "James has bought an AA truck"
Does anyone else think that the longer James may was around Richard hammond and Jeremy Clarkson that some of their mannerisms rubbed off on James, I get the feeling of this during this bit 5:02, but pretty much this episodes
Hammond had my favorite car in the Lochdown special in Grand Tour. Buick Riviera Boattail. Such a great car with excellent bodylines
I like how polite James was with Jeremy's 928 and Richard's Mach 1. A proper gentleman, he is.
I could listen to these 3 forever on car meet ups banta lol.
13:03 that one makes me sad, final Top Gear episode S22E08. I've watched it countless times
0:03 The locals looking at Clarkson like he's a mad tourist really brings the whole experience together
The absolute best part of top gear
Hammond actually dyed his hair for this 😂
"I am, as always, the voice of reason & wisdom." -Jeremy Clarkson. Well done, "chaps," well done!
“Tell me that isnt magnificent! Le boring”😂😂
The Porsche 928 ... fascinating! Hammond! 😂😂😂😂😂
My goal in life is to get all the seasons plus the grand tour on Blu-ray and thats all i would need to watch for the rest of my life
These guys are so funny we need more of them
who's gonna tell him?
@@nneuter I will.
Richard Hammond became a broadway dancer, Jeremy joined the adult entertainment industry, and James became addicted to Lego and cheese.
so, sadly, no more Top Gear. :(
Clarkson's analogy of the Bugeye fascia. Priceless~
A TREE! A HOUSE!!
🤣
How have they never done a special where the pick a car for each other
Sad to think we won't be seeing any new versions of these after this next episode of the grand tour...😢
Watching these just makes me sad this show isn’t on the air regularly anymore. These three guys have such great chemistry. All the other top gears suck by comparison.
If anyone's interested at the end James May had a 1986 Peugeot 304 S Cabriolet.
I watched the Burma episode and only just realised it was Genesis Clarkson blasted through the radio!
Jeremy really should've utilized his banging stereo more on the Burma trip
4:44 the sheena easton for your eyes only background music is just perfection!
That random "I know I'm wearing double denim, that was a mistake" is genuinely one of the most underrated remarks in the whole show, cracks me up every time 😂
6:30 I just love the three cars
it’s one of the best trio of hero cars in the show tbh, I’m sad that they were destroyed
Best car show ever ❤
7:34 Top Gear top tip on car stealing
That Subaru impressor WRX look amazing i Remember this Episode was Wonderful
And it was the only one that didn't struggle throughout the whole special
@@DrSlasher
Until the wishbone sheared
@@JtmissileAnd that was mostly due to the hamster in the driver's seat
hammond's voice when he says "you could fit a lot of heroin in there, couldn't you?" is incredible lmao
The end of the video...lol.
Need a part 3!!!
James was worryingly skillful with the condoms and vaseline
2:35 H982 FKL moment 😳😳😭
“As I was finishing my demonstration, I’ve received a message, and I was the first to arrive” bloody brilliant cut
Lotus= lots of trouble usually serious 😂 I'll remember that forever
Thank you :)
I aspire to one day reach the level of cool of James may exiting a Lotus.
4:56 Wow, look Hammond: Roger Moore isn’t here!
jeremy is funny. cant imagine them without the three of them
"Hold on, thats the throb of the turbocharged flat 4 engine..."
"Which all of the world heralds the imminent arrival of a moron"
Gotta love Jezza
10:00
You want to heaar it
* Proceeds to play the most horrible distortion known to man *
James may saying “Gentlemen” compilation please!
Does anyone know which episodes these meetings belong too? Anytime the clip cuts I want to watch what happend after it
Man that Argentinian special is legendary. Their car choices were so good
The Patagonia Special is one of the best Top Gear Specials they ever did, and it is my personal favourite.
Which is all the more annoying and bittersweet considering this was the last Top Gear special, and that all of the cars were scrapped after they had been left to rot in scrapyards
'Church pew' never gets old
Thaz wrx is so sweet, really fun to drive!
Jeremy's number plate on his Porsche 928 can't have been a coincidence... Funny, though;)
its not a custom plate, so yes it was, the Argies are just that butthurt that they lost the war they started
At 2:39 what a ballsy decision on the number plate. They definitely got lucky on that episode.
That was the original registration from when it was new and the producers apparently didn't twig that it could have made some locals upset.
Also, a lot of Argentinians actually think that the Falklands War was a mistake and that Argentina never should have even tried to invade in the first place. There's a big left vs right political divide over it there, because the government that ordered the invasion was a right-wing dictatorship that was losing support with the public. Right-leaning Argentinians think the Falklands belongs to Argentina, left-leaning Argentinians think that Argentina should leave the Falklands alone.
I love these three! I would.
Love to become the fourth musketeer.
I was hoping for the full hatchback (Trip down memory lane) meet-up, and was disappointed :(
I cannot find it anywhere anymore, seems to have been canceled from YT?!
Let's all agree that Richard made the best decision with the Subaru
James May at the Mach 1: Wowzers 😂
Hammond was a bit Gobblin Boy here, glad he's sorted himself out.
8:02 I've seen the YTP of this bit so many times that the real one is now sounding wrong 😅
it's "Hammond's Crispy Lorry", for those interested.
9:09 You can hear it in James's voice, he is so excited about his crane.
7:49 a fella down road from me has an old red nova saloon , in pristine condition absolute pristine, I drive past it and it always makes me chuckle to see a great big yellow steering lock on it. Now I know why 😂😂❤
The 928 episode is one of the best
A Grabber Green 71 Mach 1 !!!!!!!!!!
I had this car in high school. 35 yrs later people still remember that car
2:40 oh gawd this went down really well I remember 😂😅😂😅❤
Lotus "Lots of Trouble, Usually Serious" like Ford "Found on Road, Dead."
What episode is the 928 esprit and Mach 1
“A TREEEeeeeeEE!”
I love that Lotus!!!!!
that lotus was never used in any bond film
Can someone tell me where the Spider and MG is from? Episode/show? cant remember seeing that
May coming in an Esprit looking dapper is properly funny
That 850r is by far my favourite top gear special car
What episode is the last clip?
10:03 😂😂 the plastic bag ...
I love how Hammond and Clarckson coment on the 007 lotus but forget hammonds mach 1 was james bond as well
4:00 - As a guy who likes small cars built around their engines, this made me laugh hard.
looks amazing though.
(and, as always, James May is a legend. in this clip especially)
“And as you can see here is the car I’ll be using”
Is James pushing a Peugeot at the end?
