My Italian mother always played this song and sang it while I was growing up. This was played at her funeral. I dearly miss my beloved mama.
That's wonderful. My mum sang it all the time as well dedicated to her mum's memory. Now I sing it for my own mum who passed away only five weeks ago.

My late mother who passed away five weeks ago absolutely loved Pavarotti's singing. I can still her singing "Mamma" dedicated to her own mother, now I sing it dedicated to my own mother. Till we meet again dear mum, I love you and miss you more than words can describe.

My mother died in December 2022. Although we are not Italian her gang of lifelong girlfriends were first generation Italian Americans. I first heard “Mamma” in July 2023 and think of my Mamma and her crazy girlfriends every time I hear Pavarotti sing it with such joy - he clearly thinks of his Mamma when he performs this joyous piece… especially at 1:43

Quando ci troviamo sopra un precipizio..quando il dolore non trova più alcuna parola ..questa parola è l'unica che sempre riusciamo a pronunciare. Alla fine nonostante ogni distanza ritroviamo la strada per un abbraccio, fosse anche il primo. Ci siamo abbracciate mamma e non ti giudico più.
