- The beautiful Illges home at 1428 Second Avenue was built around 1850
and is one of the most noted of the Greek Revival houses in the South.
It was owned for seventy years by A. Illges and his descendants. The house was completely updated and decorated by Dina Woodruff using furniture, art, rugs, and accessories from her Atlanta store Peridot West. Renovations on the home were done by general contractor Johnny Cargill of Johnny R. Cargill Construction and architect Jack Jenkins.
