We brave soldiers of the Napoleonic Wars surrender ourselves up completely to the music of war for the purposes of enlightening and uplifting our fellow team-mates. (I also hear flute players inherently have very big penis)

The game we are playing is a mod/expansion to Mount and Blade Warband called Napoleonic Wars. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a realistic concert simulator.
We used the program "Mumble" to chat together in this video which has a feature called 'Positional Audio'. When you hear voices coming from different people in the game that's how it's done.

The rule of thumb with Napoleonic Wars is this:
1. Never use spyglasses.
2. Music can transcend nationalism.
3. Ensigns are useful if you like getting shot.
4. Accuracy doesn't matter when you can spam fire.
5. Bayonets.
6. You will always have 1 sapper who makes a battle tower and wastes all the BP.
7. BAGPIPES BEST PIPES
Bagpipes are second only to seenging paipes.
9: sabre briquets and sword bayonets are useless.
10: so are sickles.
11: admins suck unless they aren't around
Ananymouse 30 12: Bayonets are Life
13: Rifles are only good for shooting, not for melee
14: Rockets are effectively lethal fireworks
15: You only play Sailor/Partisan if you feel like a rifle is too easy
The Duane
15: non bayoneted weapons are great as overrated clubs
16: there is always that 1 guy who never takes prisoners, even when an admin tells him to
SMASHTROID 64 22: There's always a partizani who is always better than you, regardless of class.
23: Same applies for Sailors.

One of his best vids
This tragically beautiful tale of honor, despair, and miracles beyond the scope of the brutality of war plays out almost as well as moments of tension in World War Two movies, when, hopelessly outnumbered, our heroes gain miraculous air support, such as the bridge scene in Saving Private Ryan. While these scenes were indeed moving, perhaps they were more so due to the unabridged slaughter to which we bore witness prior. While this is just a game, I find it surprising how well represented human emotions are, if in a happier, less serious visage.

Dear Diary, today is May 8th, 1802.
Today I was killing some British as you do from time to time fighting for Napoleon, and something quite strange happened. As I began to turn, crossing the bridge were at least 5 bagpipers who marched playing, all out of time, terrible Scottish music. Oui, it was bad, but I was so scared that I laid my battle baguette in front of myself and ran.
All hail the bagpipers.

I’m a bagpiper in a reenactment group called the King’s Own Scottish Borderers, and being in the mock battles I have has given me MAD respect for the lads who have piped their men into battle throughout the Napoleonic Wars, WW1, 2 and so on. Even tho it’s a game, hearing that distinct sound of the drones starting up just gets my blood boiling for a fight. Goosebumps all around! Thanks for sharing.

Maybe there will be a mod or even an official DLC/explansion for Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord. That is similar to Napoleonic Wars, like set around that time. Could make lots of people switch, bring back people and of course, lots of new people too. :)

MrExplodey A couple years ago a Friday night would have 2 or 3 filled up line battles with 200 people. Now it's just one line battle with 150 people.
I'm just gonna say line battles look pretty boring.
I find them fun to jump in once in a while. You have to lower your expectations of excitement

For those that watch this video, and haven't played or did research on this game. The Musicians aren't completely useless units who spam music. I think it is, Drummers aid reloading, fifes and trumpets aid marching.
