Hey bro i always have a problem with activating my chest during these workouts. Lets say when i bench press and you flex and press up what area of the chest should i be flexing?
good question. So the movement should come natural and you shouldn't need to "flex" too much. Just control the movement when you press up and when you come down try to go a bit more slowly. The major muscle worked is the pectoralis major (basically the front part of your pecs). If you want to work different areas of your pecs you can do an incline or decline bench press. I think I used to do something similar to your upper/lower routine you're talking about. Used to being the operative word. lol
