Finally somebody says this about bench testing. Couldn't agree more 👏

Undisputedly, there are numerous factors. c/p By checking Normalized, all VDI’s will be normalized (shifted) to a common frequency. That
common frequency is, for historical reasons,
6.592kHz, meaning the US silver quarter will
have a normalized VDI response of 83.
    With Normalized unchecked, V3i will
report the raw VDI numbers for the frequency
mode selected. There is at least one situation
where this is an advantage. At 22.5kHz the
lower part of the non-ferrous VDI range is
expanded, resulting in more numerical separation of low-conductive targets. This can help in
separating nickels and jewelry from pull tabs.
Jeremy you done a very good job explaining. Thanks for the video.

Jeremy, what a great explanation of discrimination, tone breaks, etc. I’ve been detecting almost 50 years and have owned 100’s of detectors. I’m good at detecting but stink at all this complicated adjustments. I just can’t get my head around how to set up all this stuff. I love the Deus 2 and find it easy to navigate, but struggled with the Nox, struggle with the Legend. I really want to get back out with the Legend, it appears to be a great machine. Thanks for breaking it down. Could you take the Legend when the latest software update is permanent, and do a video, nice and slow explanation of how to program the Legend, I would really appreciate it Jeremy, you rock! it’s cool seeing an older guy that can go head to head with all the younger tech savvy guys, lol. Keep swinging those detectors and showing us how it’s done, big thanks. Most TH-camrs scroll through the menus so fast I can’t follow them, ugh!

Most people don't realize that they need to slow the movement of the camera down when panning. Hover over an object for a longer period of time so the viewer has time to comprehend what is being shown. The best way that I heard it put, is that It should feel painful or uncomfortable for the videographer before they decide to move the camera. They also don't consider that their fingers or hands are blocking what it is that is being shown. And then there's the lighting issues.
I've watched a few videos from movie directors on TH-cam of how to make a movie. There are some fundamental guide lines that need to be followed for a video to be effective and enjoyable.
      I feel your pain. 😥

I’ve been hunting in 6 tones with the Legend but think I’m going with 60 or pitch after watching this. Makes sense to me now as I didn’t really understand the benefits. Thanks for the info Jeremy and the explanation.

I only use 60 tones on the legend

Awesome explanation! Many thanks for that! That is the same experience I have with my Deus2. In full tones you may reduce a bit the iron tone, but never blank it out, so you can hear what is going on. I figured, that the Deus2 has more information in the signals than only ID to figure iron. But do not rely on it and make it silent. For sure never notch anything else, when you just sarch for unknown treasures.
Your descriptions are very usefull and applying them really is worth a try.

    Summary of Paystreak Superfreak lesson.
We can adjust the volume, pitch and tone break location.
You adjust the frequency you can change the tone and VDI/TDI.
Artifacts located near the tone break will generate a mixed tone, a blend of it's tone and of the nearest tone.
If a low conductor is near a high conductor, the low conductor will drag the VDI/TDI and the tone down. This will cause you to misjudge the artifact.
Use less tones (60) and you reduce the mental work of trying to judge the pitch volume, tone volume and tone break.
If you notch out iron, you'll end up digging more iron, because you can't hear the iron tone. It's preferred to adjust the tone break to alert you of potential iron.
    Tones:
    Iron: iron tone.
    Foil: low tone.
    Nickel: mid tone.
    Penny, clad: mid/high tone.
    Quarter: High tone.
Factors that may effect the VDI/TDI and audio response:
    Environment:
Soil type (clay, sand, sod, gravel, etc.).
    Soil mineralization.
    Soil magnetization.
    Soil moisture.
    Soil density.
    Soil salinity.
    Soil alkalinity (acid/base)
    Soil temperature.
    Soil contamination/pollution.
    Ambient temperature.
    Barometric pressure.
    Humidity.
    Wind speed.
    EMI.

Good explanation and well put over, I use full tones on the Deus 1, but if heavy iron i go to pitch tones, I find full tones gets dragged down in heavy iron

I use full tones on the Deus 1 mostly also but not in the iron.

So you dont think the 60 tone works the processor to hard on the legend?i always use 6 tone, wondering if i should use 60 tone, i hunt a couple trashy parks sometimes

  • @Deus-Too

Sorry, but whenever I find Nickles with my Deus2, they always ring up 62 to 64, every single time, regardless of weather or anything else that you mentioned.

@@MrBottlecapBill how do you know there are some I didn’t find? What a silly comment. For your information, I pretty much dig everything I target because it could be gold. All I said, was that Nickles always show up 62 to 64 VDI on my Deus2.

  • @kody3377

So in trashy areas it’s best to discriminate higher?
The highest I ever go is 11 & that’s just to get rid of iron and small foil.
I also use 60 tones and hear all iron. I like to hear iron that way when I’m hitting on a target and I hear iron beside target I know that the VDI & tone is going to be completely thrown off.
I’m still on cloud 9 over that Morgan dollar I found…I just can’t believe I actually found one. You never know that’s what keeps us going.

    • @PaystreakSuperfreak
      @PaystreakSuperfreak  ปีที่แล้ว

I always keep the disc at 2 on the legend and move my tone break around to tune to different areas that have lots of foil.
