I have a strong hive of meaner bees and I love them. They hold their own against small hive beetles and mites. I’m constantly battling beetles in my laid back hives.
Lol. I noticed my black lab mix thinks she's a bee dog. Every night at dark she goes to my hive and sniffs the bees. I think she likes the smell of honey. Lol. She walks past them all day long but she only sniffs them after dark. Hehehe. She's a honey huffer.
Hey dude Big fan looking into starting bee keeping my self and studying your videos and learning alot! Have you ever thought about a chest mount or a head mount for your camera?
Hi Dave! Really enjoy watching your videos! I noticed in this video that your bees had quite a bit of propolis holding the frames in the box. I have the same issue with my hive but I’ve been in the box many times throughout the summer/spring...maybe 6 or 7 times. Once the frames are covered in propolis like this, what’s the best way to clean them so it’s not such a mess to deal with?
That would be a really nice Nuc to buy its just about to take off. Is that privet hedge flowering behind the hives? My bees always swarm whenever that's out.
Barnyard Bees In this video you said,"That's just common sense". For you if is! But this is my first contact with someone who has real hands-on experience with bees. Anyhow thanks for making these interesting and informative videos. Fascinatingll
I use the Randy Oliver blue towel way. March 15th, June 15th and Sept 15th. It works well for me. The two biggest killer of honey bees is the Vorroa mite and starvation both can be avoided.
You're right. I do... thinking about some queens from you. You're to far for nucs. I'm in VA. Did buy a package of GA Italians a month ago from a fella who brought a load of them up here. They doing well but mean too
You should check out The killer bee guy You Tube channel he has a lot of interesting facts about the Africanized bee and he does sell their honey. From what I've seen, mean bees do have an active hive with honey, they just have more bees in the hive to attack those that aren't experienced with them. Watch his show. The older ones have more content. Thank you for your video. I enjoyed watching. 😄

I believe that multiple studies have shown that defensiveness correlates productivity and disease resistance.
