Dump Truck is one of the best DM Era format players playing right now so he's a great source for this. This was a great match to show off for this format, sad I wasn't able to win this one, but Lollo played this one great so I can't be too upset!
This is one of the best videos youve done imo because of the little interview at the end. These OG formats are a major part of my childhood and i feel that modern players dont respect or care about the origins or history of yugioh because the game is so different. Its really cool to be reminded of what was and see how people have refined things looking back, please keep this series up!

I remember locals during around this format. We had this one kid who had legit 3 mechanical chasers, 3 needle worms, and 3 morphing jars. The deck wasnt amazing but he would just play it every week to flex
bad wording , “tier 0” is kinda a bad term to use in yugioh. it should be Best deck, 2nd best deck, 3rd best deck, etc etc (using tiers is just easiest for causals to understand)

"Tomato Control" is kinda its own deck here but as witch/sangan go to 1 and busted limited cards get introduced it morphs into a "good stuff" list. The Format Library auto-labeler will still call it "Tomato Control" and often mislabels decks as it, so take the wheels in DM formats with a pile of salt.
even the “tomato control” deck is really just a pile of good cards jajajaja , all the deck names until formats down the line are just random names it feels like
Also grinder you always want to run the full trio of hand rips. Kids these days will never know the joy of losing 80% of their hand before they had their turn
0:55 ~ actually that graph is due to a bot error which led to Tomato Ctrl and Recruiter Ctrl being conflated, the latter is the actual second most popular in Treasure after Tomato Ctrl and before Germ Burn. basically Recruiter Ctrl is the label we have rn for all decks that play a second Recruiter engine besides Tomatoes & friends, with both Rat Recruiter and Grizzly Recruiter having won tournaments before. tldr; most tourney-winning decks: Tomato > Recruiter > Burn PS. good news tho, bot error should be fixed now for formats to come! 😬🤌
so i saw the recruiter control stuff but i just assumed it was still tomato control but with a added “engine” into it , naming these decks in these old formats is really hard since a lot of them use the same cards then like 3-5 different cards to make it a “new deck” jajajaja
"There aren't really too many sacky cards" gtfo. Watch the games. The player that used painful choice + confiscation ended up winning the game. Being able to set up your gy so early and knowing what you opponent has, again, so early into the game is stupidly strong. The opponent couldn't even recovered from that lmaooo
