      @@GTA_28 Hey man :) I think @Whanowa would have relied, but he must be pretty busy 👍🏾 Hopefully this may help you for the time being, before he gets back to you. I think you may need to make sure that OpenIV is connected to the directory of your official game save for GTA V. If it is not connected or linked to the directory, then it may say that the exe is not found, because it does not know where to look for it. Hopefully this makes sense. Apologies as I am not too familiar with the ins and outs of everything but hopefully this tip is correct. Thank you and God bless! :)

    I just finished watching the entire thing, and one must admit this is easily the most comprehensive Task Sequences guide ever, not like there are many others, but I feel confident to say this will probably never get old until forever due to the amount of detail inside the tutorial. Since the past 7 months I have been tinkering around with Menyoo and Task Sequences almost each and everyday (without exaggeration), and there is definitely a bunch of stuff that I couldn't think making use of. Your creative way of demonstrating each of these tasks is truly fascinating and makes everything easy to understand. Also, thank you for explaining the Play Animation bug as well, that one drove me nuts, each and everytime I used to remove all tasks and re-apply them.

    That said, I also have a question:
    There is no need/benefit in also using the scene director mod? is there anything scene director can do that Menyoo can't?

      Yes it is still useful:
      - synchronized animations
      - animation preview is better
      - stage lights
      - switching actors quickly
      I stil remember the one time where you recommended my channel and I got 50 subs in one day lol. But my content is too niche. I think the channel will grow more when GTA VI comes out WITH a Rockstar Editor at launch.

    In my experience i could make tasks "Fight ped" and "Fight enemies if eligible & provoked" work by disabling "Is still (Block fleeng)" in ped options. I also think disabling "Ignored by everyone" in player options could work and to set who fights who they should have set relationship in ped options. I personally use these task very often because if you place them in car they will drive to peds, exit the car and fight them without additional tasks. However the way scene will play out will soley depends on what AI decides to do so this could be a problem. Sorry for bad english.

    The fight enemies if eligible & provoked only works in a way like let’s say you add Michael and Franklin and you set the relationship option for Michael in the ped options as spooner_friends and you set franklins as spooner_enemies and you add that task sequence as long as they are in the radius of one another they will start fighting with whatever they have, there is also a 3rd relationship called neutral which can perform the same action and with this you can make teams fighting like the swat team vs merryweather vs the army only 3 teams tho as far as I know but I do believe that one option called ignored by everyone does make them run away if you try making them fight this way.

    Great video man, I have learned a lot of things from your videos.
    Also as I remember the "Closest Appropriate Action" can be used when there is an object or vehicle near the ped.
    Like if a ped is near a chair, it will walk towards that chair and will sit on it.

    About "fight ped" task, I've managed to resolve the flee issue by turning off the " stand still" option in ped menu. ( It's the option near the ped group assignment)
    That worked for me :)

    😳 DAMN! No wonder why vids take so long to make! But also, no wonder why your vids always look great 😁! Thoroughly enjoyed the tutorial, it sucks that most people don't think of machinimas as "serious works", if they only knew 🙄.... It takes an idea, a story, the technical know-how, and the creative story-telling to edit and really build up characters to tell an INTERESTING story, just like a real movie....
    I don't know where I was going with that train of thought, but my point os this: ANYONE can record and upload to youtube, but it takes an ARTIST to create worth-while content like you do. Thanks ✌🏼

    39:24 there's another problem with Drive To Position, though. When you've set a destination marker, and the driving speed to let's say 70-80 km/h, the braking distance is way too long. Driver would drive much further than the desired marker and crash into objects, peds and so on.
    Setting speed to around 30-40 km/h fixes this issue, but responding police cars with a speed of 30 km/h is a little low :)
    Possible solutions I was thinking of:
    - Make multiple Drive To Position tasks. Set each task to the exact same destination. Change the speed for each task a little lower (decrease each with 10-20 km/h). This way, the driver will more naturally decrease its speed when coming close to the destination. The tricky part are the timings though for each task, and if something minor happens in the timing, it might not work as supposed.
    - Make seperate scenes. Make a "Driving Away" scene, a 'middle' scene in which a police car is driving fast and responding, and an 'arrival' scene. In which the car is arriving at slower speed. All in individual Menyoo files.
    I hope Menyoo tracks 'progress' of a specific scene. Let's say if in scene 1 people have been shot down, cars exploded, and in scene 2 (another Menyoo file) the cops are arriving at the scene, the shot down persons and exploded cars will respawn at the exact same position. Will find out soon.

      Menyoo does sorta track the progress of a scene, if you save a new map at any given time. Dead peds will still load into the map, albeit with weird animations.
      Making multiple drive to... tasks will not work at all because as you said, if the timing is off, they will wait at the first marker and then continue after the time set has passed.
      Generally too many machinimakers try to film their scenes in one go...this is not how this works and also not how films are made. Everything is made up of very individual shots that need to be set up individually.
      For my recend film "Tail Light" I sometimes had up to 10 variants of a Menyoo map just for that one scene happening at the same location. This is how I ended up with 50+ Menyoo maps, but they all did their own specific thing...it's always better to break it down into smaller problems, otherwise you'll be overwhelmed by all the stuff you have to coordinate through task sequences.
      This is why, if you don't already have most of the film in your head like me, it could be wise to draw a storyboard, be it ever so sketchy. But seeing what a shot needs in front of you makes it easier.

    @36:14 the character gets attached to the car as soon as the map is loaded, and also the collision is turned off, don't know why this happens. One thing we can do while shooting driving scenes is we can limit the vehicle's top speed in Menyoo so that it is easy to control them.

      If you save the character while it is sitting in the car, that is supposed to happen through the game's design. Anytime you enter a car with your player character, it gets attached to the car and collision is turned off, hence Menyoo saves the settings as such. This is why it is always better to save the character standing next to the vehicle in the map. :)

    I do have a question that I couldn't find an answer to here though: Whenever I try to start a sequence to have two characters talking with pauses in between, menyoo always resets my animation duration of the first few to 0, making it not work properly. Should I be using the nothing command instead of pause or is this just a glitch with menyoo? Thanks!

    I've watched your full tutorial but I'm still having a question for a specific scenario, which I couldn't find in your tutorial (or not remember). Let's say I would like to play a speech task (or speech animation) at the same time of another task (going to position, or facing entity), how do I achieve this?
    The task sequence might look as follows:
    - Go to position (10 seconds)
    - Face entity (10 seconds)
    - Play speech (or play animation with mic_chatter animation for lip movement).
    - Aim at entity (10 seconds)
    When I do the above, the ped will play the speech (or animation) when he's aiming at the entity, and not at the moment of facing entity. Setting face entity to 2 seconds, then do play speech and then face entity again isn't fluid.
    For the animation I could find the "SecondTask" flag, but it seems that it still awaits the previous task to be ended before playing the animation.
    This also applies to all other kind of tasks. I would like to have a speech or speech animation running at the same time as another task. I've seen this happening in different machinimas, so there should be a way. Could you explain me please (or show me where to find it in your tutorial)?

      This stuff can be tricky, but you explained it well so I think I can help. The key to achieving this is "keep running after allocated time". That way, if the speech event starts, it allows the next task in the sequence to play while the mouth is moving.
      So the correct order would then be:
      - go to position (10 seconds)
      - play speech (keep running)
      - Face entitiy (10 seconds OR depending how long the speech event shall be)
      - aim at entity (10 seconds)
      However if you want the character to look at the other first and then start speaking, you have to split the task up:
      - go to position (10 seconds)
      - face entity (1 second)
      - play speech (keep running)
      - Face entitiy (10 seconds OR depending how long the speech event shall be)
      - aim at entity (10 seconds)
      Also I recommend instead of using "face entity" that you use "keep looking at entity" because that way they will look into each others eyes instead of just turning the body. I assume when the character walks to the position they are already facing the other one, no? In any case, if you have dialogue with characters looking at each other, "keep looking at entity" is a MUST.
      Pro tip: Sometimes humans look away when speaking. You can add invisible objects anywhere and make them look at that in between speech events. So it will look really natural instead of a staredown.
      To conclude, you cannot start speech events in the middle of an ongoing task (like walking to position for 10 seconds). This only works at the start or end of a task. This is why for perfect timing, I always controlt the ped speaking and trigger the speech evens manually while a task sequence plays out.

      I will try it out soon! As far as I can remember, the "play speech" doesn't have a duration setting (and so, it doesn't have a "keep running" settings I guess), but I will take a better look at it.
      As for the playing speech while walking, shooting, etc. I should either play the character myself, or trigger an event manually. Explains a lot, thank you!

    I've just watched this one and this was really helpful! I'm still having a question though. What's your best practice on saving your scene progress? And what do you do if you have to 'reload' your stuff after trying out some tasks?
    For example: I let one ped (ped1) walk to another. After x seconds, ped2 starts to shoot at ped1 and kills him. I have saved the file before, but when I notice some issues after testing it, I might want to save it. But when I save it in this state, the peds are already dead and at their wrong positions. How do I get them back into the starting position? Should I save seperate files for the starting position for example? So I can reload it instantly again after testing the scene? Or is there any shortcut on this to get right into the starting position for the full scene? Hope you understand what I mean :)

      The best practice for any Menyoo map with task sequences is to SAVE the map right before testing the sequence the first time. That way, if anything goes wrong, you can just delete all entities in the object spooner and then reload your map.
      And then what I do is to save a bunch of forks of my maps. I name them "MovieName_Scene_Number". Using the "notes" in the Menyoo map you can write down what that particular map is for.

    Got a question about the "Follow Route" task sequence. Have you ever used it for walking and jumping over objects like walls or fences? I can't get it to work. I've tried to add markers for the route getting through the fence, and tried markers on top of the fence and then right behind the fence again. Seems that it will just walk into the fence and keeps trying to get litterally through the fence instead of climbing over it.
    Have you ever tried this and get it to work? I also tried some workarounds like having 'follow route' and 'go to position' behind the fence, or things like 'fight ped' (and setting an invisible ped) in the hope the NPC will automatically climb over the fence. It all doesn't work unfortunately. I was also thinking about maybe playing an animation of climbing on the fence, but I'm not sure if that will work.
    Any ideas? :)
    p.s. the wall or fence isn't to high, as I can jump over it myself as player.

      No this stuff doesn't work afaik. But you can always just take control of the character and make the jump, and instead the other character (following or running away) becomes the NPC with the task sequence.

    Do you also have a tutorial on actually producing a machinima and the best practices? So like how you set up your scenes, how to organize your Menyoo scenes and so on? And how to plan and cut your shots? Feels like I'm running into trouble with this particularly. For example I'm having one huge Menyoo file with actually almost my full movie in it. Task sequences of entities I'm using later on in the movie have set 'Nothing' with a high duration until I want them to become active in the scene.
    I'm now having 63 entities and it's growing and almost all have task sequences. It feels I'm doing this the wrong way and I should split up all the scenes into different 'parts' or files. Which means, I have to duplicate/copy everything from the 'main' file, to seperate files. For some scenes it doesn't matter that entities I'm using later on won't exist, but for some scenes I do need those entities with a combination of the previously used entities. I think I've should have planned out all the scenes, researched what entities become useless or which entities I need where and when (which I didn't).

      Meanwhile I've been thinking about this and I'm going for seperate files and shorter scenes (in Menyoo). First writing out all the scenes I would like to make, and then in Menyoo making these scenes one-by-one, and recording them one-by-one. This way I'm able to visually check the scene just recorded, and if OK, continue. If I'm running into trouble with some task or setting, figure it out, fix it or find a work around. Then go to the next scene, etc. etc.
      That way I will be fixing or searching workarounds for possible issues one-by-one. Because at the moment, my to-do list says that I'm still having a lot of 'issues' I have to fix in seperate scenes.

      Generally I would always advise to split up your menyoo files into small parts! The more stuff happens the more chances for bugs and points of failure there are. You can't record clips longer than 2 minutes anyway, so why put it all in one sequence?
      Make sure to use the "notes" feature to write down what each file is for so you'll know when you wanna do a reshoot later.

    Is there a way you can spawn a character and take control of that character and switch between the characters? Example. I’m Franklin when I’m in story mode and then I spawn a ped then I can keep franklin on screen but control the new ped? I’m trying to make scene with 2 characters. Or the only way to control spawning characters is to have them do tasks?

    So this is an issue I've had for awhile and I never figured it out but for some reason I can't get peds to drive certain emergency vehicles (police cars, fib and etc...) using task sequences.
    I doesn't matter if I assign warp into vehicle > drive to position, or enter vehicle > drive to position. The peds will get in the car and just sit there or drive forward half of a foot repeatedly.
    I've also tried using Scene director and recorded their actions but I get the same result when I play scene. This only occurs with emergency vehicles, not regular street cars. Is this something you came across before?

      You have to deactivate "ignored by everyone" in the player options.

      @@whanowa Should of mentioned it above. Yeah, I had it deactivated and this fixed Swat trucks but police cruisers and fib vehicles still have the same problem.
      Edit: If I'm controlling one of the peds at the time before starting the sequence. It seems to work strangely.

    I have a few questions. Have you used this in a fivem server and if so I have a question about that. I spawn a ped and have it follow me and it works great, but once someone joins my server, they stop following. My option at that point is to use task to warp peds into my car or follow me, but they won't follow or get into my car automatically. Do you know a way how I can make them follow me and enter/exit the car with me?

    Long term problem, is there any fix for the weird audio de-sync after export? the only one I can think of is moving back the clip in an editing software, but I'm afraid to compress the file even more, any other fixes? (I will most likely use the vectors and the fairy looking things in my upcoming machinima's, the rest I discovered myself, still awesome tutorial)

      In the past I usually only had a few frames of de-sync but this is not a problem anymore since I delete all in-game audio anyway to build my own soundscapes.

    Hi, Great tutorial. I've one small question if this ever reach you: I'm trying to get 2 actor to drive their cars and crash into each others using the drive to position action. But it seem every time they're about to crash they either brake or veer off and avoided the crash. Is there anyway to prevent the from doing that? :)

      If it is only 2 actors, you can control one of the cars and make the crash happen easily.

      Hi @hoangtri7814 , I had the same issue for my Driv3r remake video, I finished up driving one of the vehicles, and stopping the task sequence for the 2nd driver before he had a chance to avoid driver 1. The actor spawns out of the vehicle so I adjusted the camera angles so that we could not see that Car 2 is empty during Crash.

    Is there any feature in menyoo like that of sync anim of scene director? I want two characters to hug and some anim before it so want to use task sequence, scene director fails as there one can't apply sequences of task.

      Unfortunately there isn't. But Task Sequences give you the power to sync up the hug animations of two different characters and add follow-up animations. It is more work, though. If you can't find any way to make this work fluently, don't be afraid to make a cut.

      I made my first ever movie myself and I found out there's a small little thingy that can help sometimes : making different shots and putting them together. Whenever I tried to make a character move non-stop, it just couldn't work, because the bot was too stupid to get on the stairs. In advance, I filmed myself climbing a ladder as that ped, and boom! Now it doesn't look bad nor did I have to waste time trying 10 million combinations. In case you want to see the movie, it's called "THE CHASE - An MW2 Inspired GTA V Short Film"

      Of course you can if you record your own voice samples and put them over the video footage. But this only works if you bring your video material to PC one way or another.

      You can use the flag "secondTask" and then you should be able to drive. But if you want to do dialogue, just go to "player options | speech" and play any speech event, often they have gestures included.

      Disable collision on object(s), and attach to veh (or invisible object that is attached to vehicle) then adjust position in "attachment options". You can then either save database to be able to move objects in a future scene or save vehicle with Menyoo, the attached objects will save with it so you can respawn it.

    Great tutorial, just have one question. Every time I load multiple amounts of peds and I do a retake for a scene sometimes the peds duplicate in their positions or their duplicate will be standing at the end position. This has led to many of my takes being useless. Any fix? (Also the duplicates only show up in rockstar editor

      The takes are not useless. You just have to delete all peds and objects before going to editor. I hope you kept your clips lol
