As a recovered (from a hopeless state of mind and body) alcoholic with almost 20 years sober, I'm glad I'm still teachable. Bob hit part of my old life right on the head when he mentioned that sometimes people you either knew or even didn't know would come up and ask if you had a problem. I know of 3 times at least. One was a former boss just after I got fired. Another one ,and it still amazes me to this day, was a bartender ( so much for helping him have "job security "). The other one was my dad who couldn't figure out why I couldn't slow down and control my drinking. As another old timer calls our disease he is very much right. His name for it ,Dumbshits Disease. Yes once we started drinking dumb shit would be right around the corner. Thank God for this wonderful program and all the wonderful speakers we can listen to in between meetings

Bob D. describes and encapsulates alcoholism, the alcoholic mind, the true nature of this disease, better than just about anyone out there. He and Mark Houston really capture and articulate this condition in ways that few others have for me.

That's true. I got sober back in the days of cassettes and CDs. 1998...got serious after a couple of years. It's a great program....depression or not, God or no God. Life is still what I make of it....by serving others and passing on the message!
