Over here in Northern Ireland, the 'wee green ends' are the BEST BIT! Filled with natural iron and folic acid, with a B vitamins bolster....The dark green leaves are undoubtedly the most nutritious part! 🥰🥰🥰
Hello from Australia Cheryl. I love all the recipes that you ost. But mostly I keep coming back to listen to your accent. You sound just like my 94 year old auntie. She’s my only home country relative. So thank you for everything 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
👍 This is going to be really good. I will probably not use carrots this go-round, but thanks for the "OK" to add a bit of garlic, which really does add a nice bit of extra flavor. I do like a creamier soup, especially in colder months, as its easier to just pop it in a mug, no need for a spoon. Quite often I'll blend half and then pop it back in the main batch. Thanks! Always enjoy the added scenery at video end..... that Arran sunset was AMAZING. Sunrises and sunsets, we should try and not miss too many. My Gran would often look out her window, give us a call and say "Look outside and see the beautiful sky the Lord has painted for us this evening". Have a wonderful weekend! 🌻 🌻 LK
Love the leek and potato soup. Actually, I do use a ham hock to my stock when making this. Just seems to add a bit more flavor. When I do add the cream (okay, a lot) ~ after it cools down I do take out a portion of the soup and put it in a blender, it makes the soup much thicker after re adding it back. You get the best of both worlds ~ thickness and the luscious chunkiness! Great video as always. xox ❤ Katherine 🇺🇸
I put carrots in too. And peas on occasion. I've been known to start one soup and end up with another! It all boils down (or sometimes over) to what we like, not just in general, but at the time. "There are no mistakes in the tango darlin'! If you make a mistake and get tangled up, you just tango on!"
Looks yum! I read that every time you take your lid off, it adds 20 minutes extra cooking time! Crazy hey! My husband is always lifting the lid to have a geez and boy do I go crook on him 😂
Hi there, just wanted to pop by and say *"THANK YOU"*, made this yesterday, but didn't get to enjoy it til today. First off, house smells great, but the soup is Fantastic. Did it traditional, no carrots this time, YUMMY!. Blended part to thicken/cream up a bit, popped it in a mug and enjoyed it listening to the rain. Maybe another mug later, might add a bit of smoked ham. 👍👍🌻. LK
Will definitely being this soup a go in my new slow cooker...A God sent for someone who really can't cook very well (me!!)...So thanks again and am a Scot living in Thailand for the past 7yrs or so nothing like a hearty winter soup in 35°!!!...Have made the beef and the sausage casseroles and both so tasty....Shout out to the slow cooker!!!..Should have bought one years ago...🙏🙏
Great recipe, I’ve made this twice now but scaled up. 800g bag of frozen leeks, 800g grated tatties, 400g grated carrot, 3 litres stock, etc., etc., etc.
Thank you! I can’t wait to make this, you make it sound so easy and describe everything really well for beginners like me 😜 I hope mine turns out as delicious as your’s, it looks really mouthwatering!
Good morning there, Mike from County Durham. Just popped on some leek and potato soup (minus the carrot) . Really just commenting on the lentil and bacon recipe tried a couple of weeks ago, have done it a couple of times with and without the bacon and i suspect it is going to be a staple in this household. Traditionally in this house we just buy a tin of lentil soup to accompany our made from scratch curries. Will not be doing that with ''our'' lentil soup :) any more !! Have a good day and i will be looking forward to the leek and potato soup shortly. Regards Mike.
just making a big pot of broth soup with boiling beef serving with crusty bread-such a warmimg soup on these cold and dreary days-soups are always welcoming on these cold days and cheapish as well
Great video! You inspired me to make a vegetable soup in my slow cooker, which I've never attempted before. I used red pepper, courgette, carrots, cabbage, sweetcorn and the stalk of a broccoli (because I hate wasting fresh fruit and veg 🙈). I've just cooked it in some veg stock, some passata and a touch of harissa paste to spice it up 👍🏽 I'm thinking of trying carrot and ginger soup next to help with my cold. Hope you're doing better than me haha
Wow :) That sound delicious! The harissa will be lovely. I've not caught any colds yet thankfully! Watch me catch one tomorrow lol. Hope you feel better soon x
My granddaughter is a vegan. This is a Fairly new phase....So I am using more vegetable stock, she likes soups I make, so I will try this one We try to get together every Sunday at our place, 6 kids 8 adults get together , we all take turns to cook ! Thanks 💕
This recipe looks delicious and I can't wait to try it. I just noticed that it is from last November....I guess it just popped up in my suggested videos and I couldn't resist. ...a little off topic and I don't really expect a reply, but I love the way you make your videos...the soft music, the voice over...I would love to learn to make videos. Any advice?
great starter, i was wondering what to dip my 12 chicken satay skewers with chicken in. I will enjoy sucking the soup and plucking the chicken pieces out one by one on all the skewers
I’m just 2 hours into making this I’ve swapped out the chicken stock for a home made veggie stock as I’m vegan, I’m really so looking forward to eating this leek and tatie soup is possibly my favourite soup, I have family from Tain and it was my my Auntie that gave it to me when I was really young, then for a little while I decided that I didn’t like anything green or healthy 🤣🤣🤦🏻♀️ but then recently I had covid and it has left me with very little taste for anything so because my isolation ended yesterday I found your recipe for the slow cooker and thought what better way than leek & tatie to try and have something that I might be able to taste. I found a recipe that put peas, celery and carrots in it and I just thought no way surely that would make it vegetable soup 🍲 lol, shame we can’t share pics on so we could all show our creations yummy 😋🤤
Hmmm do I know I’d never thought of making soup in the slow cooker till you put up you poll! I’ve been thinking about getting one of the Morrison’s ‘wonky veg’ boxes for £3.50 - I’m sure that would make some great veggie soup!!!
The Lentil wae ham is my fav but thar awe geed,Ma Wee Wife likes Tattie soop the best,a think yar veg size is perfect, nice chunks,no only Delish but super healthy,Hmmmmm any ive ever had there was carrot in it,loved it,Beautiful pictures at the end by the way,Cheerio the noo
I can't put carrots in this recipe,. It's not correct, doesn't look right.. I think the pressure cooker makes this best, and is the fastest. Cream, cream ? Never, never it's stopped being traditional Scottish in this recipe. No Carrots, No cream. Stop, desist !
@2:25 *Hiya :) It says 'Ham' stock! My mistake :) Should have said chicken stock! You can use ham stock if you like....or even vegetable x*

Awh! Bless.
This turned out amazing, thanks! And there is no way on earth that you could bore me at all!! Every moment of WFT is sacred!
I love the flavor of leeks and I love potato soup, I bet I’ll really enjoy both together after watching this. Super yummy!😊
Thanks Catherine :) It's such a simple soup....super easy to make and costs next to nothing! It's nice with a bit of garlic thrown in too x
Looks delicious. Have never used carrots but will try

I use the dark green tops of the leeks too. Not many people do! Maybe it’s just me! 😂
