Yesterday I was lecturing at the university about UX design and bad and good practices in experience design. I wish I could have recommended your video then :) Great job and I agree with you. (I'm from Poland and I send my regards to everyone, especially from SGH)
Hi Steve, in the video description it currently says that the Jones BBQ Sauce website was built with Shopify even though you mention in the video that it's Squarespace. You might wanna update the description. Great video though, I learned a couple of new things from it!
Super interesting video. Learned a lot about web design just from this video as well, just like the gap between branding and usability from MrBeast's Feastables website.
Hey man! Love your video and I wish you well in the future. Just one tip that might help you with watchtime in the future - though this is just from a guy who watches a lot of already popular vidoes. A) try to have some sort of music, like chillhop, in the background of your videos, to help fill in the spaces between your sentences and maintain the audience's interest in the content. Also, B), maybe have the thing you use as a thumbnail be one of the last topics you cover in the video - for example, give an overview of what you will discuss, breaking down website designs and the types of websites there are or typically used designs that work well - including a sneak peek of the major website you will be looking at - that of mr beast's - but keep it until the end. This makes sure that audiences are both still hooked at the start of your video and interested in what you have to say, but also stay watching until the end, increasing watchtime and thus your algorithmic recommendations for other people, thereby increasing the views your video gets. Other than that, fantastic stuff!
Great advice, but I disagree somewhat. I think he nails the simplicity of the background audio. He's trying to educate, not necessarily entertain though I do find his videos interesting to watch because of how many examples he gives with changing up the websites to give us a better perspective and I think THAT is what keeps people engaged, not necessarily the music all the time. Not knocking down your content, just giving my own perspective.
Quick feedback: Usually I love your videos but I found this one a little bit boring, maybe it's because I am a designer and I think I already know most of the things you are pointing out.
