Pretty rough, though not terrible. Prices are getting out of hand, putting so many average collectors out of the market. Honestly the large scale mega breakers have damaged the hobby big time
Could you explain why the breakers have ruined the hobby?

@@rubikscub3 On top of what has been said, I'll add that breakers don't buy a box or 2 like an average person would, they buy cases and cases, insuring that UD will sell a tonne more very easily. This is raising the price because they will sell, as well as extending prints to thin out the product so they can sell more. Watch breaks of SPA 10-12 years ago, they were usually getting 3 or 4 autos a box. Now it's over double the price and you're getting 1 or 2 autos a box. I'd like to say breakers will peter out because they used to be able to break a case of mid-high end products for a reasonable price, now they only break a few boxes of something at that same price point, making it a crap shoot, but people will still buy into it because it's gambling and it's addictive.
It's a double edged sword. People have gotten into breaking because people can't afford to buy boxes and packs for themselves. Breakers are both a curse and a blessing. My issue is that for the cost of 2 to 3 boxes you can USUALLY buy the top cards. $1000 can buy you some of the top cards of that set. There's just not value in individuals buying boxes, buy the cards you want. This hobby is becoming more like gambling every day. I still love it, but its just not worth it.
Just like that $1017 turns into $472 by my math. This is the reason I no longer buy boxes and just get my jollies off watching you. Thanks Zee!

im pulled alot of high dollar cards from retail this year. ill keep going retail until these prices drop
I miss opening packs, got way too priced out of the hobby, glad i got to build up a decent collection before prices got out of hand. Love watching your videos, helps me relive some of that childhood nostalgia of opening 14-15 UD with my dad at the card store.
That was a decent year in hindsite with the likes of rookies of Pasta and Drai

Kinda tough, seems like this product you either hit big or its like eh. Great video as always, for plat, maybe just a hobby box. It is a bit more expensive this year, but plat is an interesting product for sure

The Gallagher pull got me excited since he is my fav player. Not a terrible break but not ideal. Either way was a fun video.

If you're referring to the Spectrum FX Cards, those codes can be used to build a set. So if you got all the codes and submitted them youd get an award for it

Nice Tkachuk out of 25. Not sure if I'm really enjoying the pulls I've been seeing from breakers, it might be a set I skip this year. I don't necessary want to buy into a set JUST because of potential value, but it is rough if you don't get players or teams you like. What's your opinion on the price point?

The pageantry card are kinda cool but having them in EVERY PAck is making me not like them since they could have come up with something else.
Also the Caps duos card and FWA ate the only cards I would be looking for.
I tried this year's SPA and got absolutely skunked. Two no name FWAs and a base auto of Cam Atkins. And literally no one or nothing else worth notable. No big name rookies despite there being quite a few of them.

Wow when I think the days I have bought a case of SP AUthentic 06-07 for the same and got like 70 autos (2 hot boxes) including the Crosbym Malkin, Kessel and Ovi auto Future Watch... Really not worth it now... If you don't pull a legend or the number 1 rookie, you lose money for sure.

I wanna start off by saying that i liked this video's concept but my god i have to say this product is beyond overpriced and this hobby makes absolutely no sense to me, how is an Alex Turcotte redemption card worth more than a limited patch autograph numbered to /25 of the #6 pointer of the year who potted back to back 100+ points seasons, i love Caufield (see avatar) but how is his FWAP /100 selling for 5 grand when he hasn't scored more than 43 points in the league yet, the speculation in this hobby is out of control

That's basically because of the market he plays in it's going to be a sad day for anyone collecting his cards to hold in 10 years time if he leaves montreal and also because that guy wont be a HOF based on prejections on what he's done so far he's a 2nd liner who gets hyped as a 1st liner so eventually his card value will fall down a cliff

So... If you sell immediately (because most of those prices will come down soon enough), you get back half the money you paid (476$ according to the prices you showed), and that's giving a good 35$ or so dollars for other random inserts.
Absolutely not worth it.
The fact it's over a year late , and still has alot of redemption , says all that everyone watching needs to know about how every product made by UD is garbage 🗑
