Hello Jan. Really enjoy your videos. I was wondering if you could do a quick video on sewing ergonomics? When I was young, I could sew with sewing machine on almost any table height, but as I'm now 65, my back gets tired and it's harder to see everything. :-) Thanks for all you do, and sharing your videos and patterns.

I recently purchased the pattern for the fleece beanie hats with ear flaps. Before purchasing the one with animals features, I would like to know, if you have the time, what are the differences between both patterns. Merci beaucoup from Gatineau (Québec) !!
Hello, the two hats are very similar. The animal ear beanie, of course, has patterns for the different types of ears. If you're not interested in the ears, you can just omit them. Let me know if you have any further questions. Have fun sewing!

Another cutie. Question.. I notice you do not put a knot or flip piece over to stitch off the serger seams. I was taught a million years ago you had to make a long enough thread tail so you could make a knot next to the fabric on ends that did not get seen over later. Specifically the tip of ear where you had to repair the un caught seam. You just cut it off. It does not come loose or unravel? Any info or tips on serger ends, seams etc is appreciated. Thanks Jan
ahhhh, I knew the minute I cut that thread someone might catch that. The only reason I did that was I knew I would be catching that seam and thread when I sewed on the scarf, otherwise I would have finished off like I usually do. I LOVE the first hat. I can't put ears on it though, because my Chihuahua's "brother" would be trying to take them off, thinking he has a toy on his head. How do I measure my dogs' head to figure out size of pattern?
These hats are actually not for animals. They are animal hats with ears for children and adults.

My needle keeps breaking when i do the double fleece i am a beginner not sure if my tension is ok i have it at 4 I am using quilting heavy duty needle
Sounds like you need to get a universal needle that is 90 or above. A quilting needle is not for knits.
Try that and see if that helps.

Two single needle and one serger. This is from sewing for many years. I just upgraded to a newer machine last year. I still love my old Pfaff.
