What I really admire about Floor is her honesty of character. She just shows herself as she is, no attempts to hide the lines of her age, but instead celebrates it... and becomes more beautifull in the process. Great wisdom of a great personality. This also shines through in the emotion of her singing...
@@dagonluke Euhm, no, with all due respect, that is not what I meant. I was talking about honesty and being true to yourself. Self-acceptance so to say. Being "guided" (which I do not believe in) has nothing to do with it. Actually it is the opposite.
This is the last song of the album and is a tribute to the loved ones we lost and special for Tuomas who lost his father last year. This song ends with the film reel stopping. The first song starts with the film reel starting. It is for sure an album to listen from begin to end in one go to let all the emotions get to you and they definitely will come. It is a piece of art and you will understand why the mixing is done how Tuomas wanted it to be.
Oh my word... This song reaches parts that not even Floor has reached before. A stunning composition from a mega Nightwish album that gets better and better with each and every listen surpassing my hopes and expectations. Thank you Joel 🙏😊👍♥️
I think I still hold An Ocean Of Strange Islands as favourite so far but Lanternlight is such a special track that is really growing on me. Actually I prefer to think of the album as an indivisable masterpiece from start to finish.
The projector sound is also the beginning of Yesterwinde. So the album starts with that and this is the last song so ending with that like the album is finished
I LOVE IT. IT'S A SUPER EMOTIONAL TUNE. THE REST OF THE ALBUM HAS BEEN RELEASED WITH SOME OTHER GREAT SONGS THAT FOLLOW THIS ONE. NIGHTWISH INCREDIBLE AS ALWAYS.🥰🥰🥰
The entire album is exquisitely crafted. Not a bad song among them. But this particular track is something I struggle to find the right words for. The song is timeless and otherworldly. I’ve had many Nightwish tracks have an emotional impact on me, but this one hits at depth unprecedented. It’s like a song that I’ve always known but had never heard before now. It feels as if this is a song my soul has been patiently waiting on to come along. Or perhaps Lanternlight has been a song waiting on us to hear. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but there’s something eternal about this piece. Something as vast as time and space itself and yet so very small and human at the same time.
This sounds like her solo album, I think Tuomas likes the variety of her singing. Floor said that she chokes up too easily with this song, the band rewinds, during the sessions, to let her recover. The old style film projector. The old movies, memories. Then Troy drifts in with his soft voice, he made up the word, so his pronunciation, is our guide, right at the end of the album. :)
This song kind of ties the songs, "Perfume of the Timeless" and "Lanternlight." Those who came before us and our ancestors that we knew and celebrated their life's. Now...I just need to order the new CD for my collection! As for Floors performance.... BRILLIANT!!!
I have been doing some reading on this one to find out who the male vocalist was... I think it was Troy. Looked at a website that listed the band members for this song and only Floor & Troy were listed for vocals.
This song is so packed with emotions that I couldn't hold back my tears even during the album version. With Sleeping Sun the second Nightwish song where I felt the same way.
This is by far the most decent song on YW. Finally we can at least hear Floor. Even Troy wasn't able to spoil this, though his simple, grating monotone harmonies are still redundant, like at 3:05 ..huge Davy Jones theme vibes, Floor at her most delicate and then Tuomas just has to throw Troy into the mix again. Same with the final lines. Floor could've sung all of that but nope, obligatory Troy attachment strikes again.. Troy notwithstanding , this really is a very nice song. Still far removed from the splendor of a delicate After Forever ballad though. If you haven't seen it Joel, I highly recommend: "After Forever - Eccentric Live at Pinkpop Festival (2004)". Includes introduction in Dutch by Floor saying that Joost (van den Broek) and her are about to do something completely different, i.e. a ballad from their latest album.
@@joelroadie That's a shame. Still well worth checking out for yourself of course. You'll see what I mean, comparing that After Forever golden oldie to this "New Nightwish" one.
Troy is a fantastic musician and has added so so much to Nightwish over the years but they really should keep him away from the microphone, the new album is really good but could have been mixed a tad better in a few parts....anyhoo it is always a blessing to hear Floor singing new material she is such a diamond.
I don't hate it, which is more than I can say about everything else they have done recently. There hasn't been any of the truly epic stuff they used to create.
This is so beautiful.🤍 Floor’s emotion is incredible. This song may in fact be a “big radio hit” because everyone can relate to someone they have lost. It is also the last song on the Yesterwynde album and rounds out the theme of timelessness, humanity & nature. The completion of the trilogy of albums.

That’s what this song is about as well. Guiding and be guided until death.

Well spoken!
So agree, she is just so natural and open,no mask, humble and beautiful
@@rientsdijkstra4266 what I mean is that self acceptance is also acceptance of mortality. This is what the whole album is about.

He died in 2021, this was the first song he wrote for this album.
This hits straight to your soul. 🥹
Tuomas wrote this one after his father passed during the composition of this new record. Hauntingly beautiful, yet ending with hope for the future.
Officially my personal song of the year. Period.

We should be so grateful for these masterpieces of musical poetry Nightwish serves to us.
The Weave is an absolute banger , it has become my favorite Nightwish song
Right there with you!
I cry my eyes out EVERY time.❤
This, and one other brought water to my eyes 1st listen. Something no other songs, or bands, have done to me in my 57+ years.
🤘😎🤘
Same here 🙏😊👍♥️
Breathtakingly beautiful ❣️❣️❣️

Tis is awesome❤
What a beautiful voice she has. Floor is the best
Beautiful!!
For me a phantastic song. Direct attack on my feelings and my soul. Floor out of this world (credits to tuomas).
Gorgeous song. It's an emotions pump. Fantastic ending too.
What a stunning beautiful song 💖💖💖, It’s touch my hart 💖
Beautiful song, Floor's voice is something else.
It's the 4th and last track they will release. A few reactors on the platform have the album and are playing it in It's entirety

wonderful... i have tears......
Floor is amazing
Oh so beautiful and my favorite of the first three releases as well.

How about the limited edition, with an orchestral version of the album?
Please listen to the three previous songs again (and again), they will grow on you.
Love it😊

I nice resting song when your chillin reading a book.
Tuomas Holopainen. I Iowe Tuomas music.
👍👍👍👍
🎉🎉🎉
I also thought Enya or Clannad
Night wish stopped Rocking since Marco left
Didn’t Troy used to play for Enya for a while before he joined Nightwish? 🧐

Unfortunately the pinkpop festival blocks everything. So, won't be able to do that one. =-(
