I just received rocha edp today.. Let me tell you sebastian, is a beautiful Parfum. Smell spicy rich, quality. I pay 80 usd. smell like tuxedo saint Laurent 100% same juice. Beautiful Parfum
Sebastian, I think you can name Edmond Roudnitska easily the best perfumer of all time. I believe he deserved a more highlighted presentation from a great perfume reviewer like you. Pierre Bourdon was Edmond’s first and last student. E.R represents an institution and all current great noses inc. Dominique praise him for what he was.
I started off sampling Moustache EdP on its own but quickly realized it reminded me of something else I had smelled recently. After some research, YSL Tuxedo seems to be the main direct comparison, and I agree after smelling them both side-by-side. The opening is very close to YSL Tuxedo, both being a smooth-balsamic and then vanilla scent mixed with something kinda dirty and sexy, like leather or booze (think aspects of Fahrenheit dirty or even Memo leathers). Moustache EdP feels more masculine than Tuxedo, not as unisex. It also has a heavier, very dressed-up feel, which makes sense being compared to something called “Tuxedo”. Deeper into the drydown, Moustache EdP can't keep up with the projection I get from Tuxedo but it still does just fine. Longevity was in the 9 hour range.
I have the EDP and I LOVE it. It is a very interesting fragrance. It is often compared to YSL Tuxedo which is a chypre. This is not classified as such because of the official notes, yet interestingly is very close to Tuxedo. It is also sometimes compared to Dior Fahrenheit, which I do pick up some similarities, minus the petrol Accord as a result of the violet leaf in Dior Fahrenheit. My nose however immediately picked up a strong similarity to Bentley for men intense which nobody ever mentioned. Even though there is no booze listed, I definitely get a strong boozy brandy Accord. It does share similar notes with Bentley in the base such as Patchouli, benzoin, and vanilla along with Cedar. I know Bentley Intense is a love or hate for many, however I find this much better fragrance. The Bulgarian rose scared me, because I hate rose in men's perfume, but I was pleasantly surprised that all it did was make it more unisex and done very well. Thank you for reviewing this!
Sebastian I love the direction of the EDP the cedar note adds amazing touch to the fragrance. I found my bottle in a Facebook group for 60 US and fragrancenet has it has well .
One of the famous perfume houses explained that you can use oakmoss but one component of it is regulated, so you have to pay more for a purified version.
Hi Sebastian. This fragrance has grown up on me. When I first smelled it I didn’t like too much the scent. In my skin it’s subtle, light, eerie. I almost couldn’t smell it after two hours. But the more I wore it I started to breakdown all the components and enjoyed them. My guess is because I have a thin skin, if I put a soft perfume after wearing a strong one my skin has kind of a “memory” and doesn’t allow me to smell the proper fragrance. Now I really enjoy the scent, it’s skin long lasting, projects for a bit, to me it’s a scent for warmer weather. I’m in the UK and didn’t have any problem to buy it. Reasonable price as well and I waited for the Black Friday, so even cheaper price. Thanks for the comparison. I always wanted to know how the original smelled like. Good video.
Blind buy the edp. After Seeing ur review..woow...great formal scent.. niiice "wavy" opening with mybe some candy sweetness..i feel some farenheit vibes 'dirty booze' 15min after layering it. now waiting for the dry down😍😍

Fantastic fragrance. I'm in Ireland. I got this for £25. I agree the name is not great. But this is an incredible scent. Minds me on macera cedrat boise.
Picked up the edp today in Panama for $39 USD along with aftershave and shower gel. I figured to put the after shave to good use so I shaved my beard but left the facial hair above the upper lip. Overall I'm quite happy with the purchase.
It's so weird how brands approach different countries. Here in Buenos Aires you can find Rochas un every perfume shop or you can go to the Rochas clothing stores. But some other brands are almost inexistent here 🤷🏻♂️
I ordered a bottle of the EDP from Ebay... $87.00. I am in St Louis, MO and NOBODY is selling it here. My bottle came in last week. I really REALLY like it. Worth every penny.

You know that house is fairly new to me I have sampled some of their fragrances but just sampled quickly. They are intense experiences though. I should look into them again! :)
I have smelled Iron Duke for sure! :) We actually shot a samples preview video of that brand but never aired. It just didn't turn out. It was a few years ago.
A great coincidence as tomorrow I'm gonna pick up the EDP (125 ml) that I've ordered online from Notino (they have real stores here in Romania, just like Sephora and the others, so I can pick it up myself). The very opening of Moustache EDP is amazing with a spicy cardamom punch (not listed) which fades away within few seconds. After 1/2 a minute it strongly reminds me of a more ellegant, less sweet, slightly spicy version of CH Man Prive - so yes, it's got some boozyness to it. Very very nice. Later it goes a different way (still very nice). Still keeps some light sweetness but it freshens up a bit with the cedar note with a hint of nice herbal feeling - at this stage it's a skin scent allready. Too bad it is so soft with very light projection and mediocre (at best) longevity, turning to a skin scent much too quickly.
I have the EDT and it’s entirely too light and smells like I just finished dusting with expired pledge 😒 I have the EDP coming because I keep hearing such great things about it and I found a great deal ! Fingers crossed 🤞
I have a barely used full bottle of the EDP. I find that this isn't really my type of fragrance. Will be selling for a reasonable price if anyone wants.

I ordered the EDP version. According to the batch code the fragrance was produced in 2014. I haven't been able to find anything indicating that the there was an earlier formulation. The box came wrapped and sealed, bar code and all. Hope I didn't get ripped off
I own and love the EDP. You payed 100$?? Its pretty much 35-40$ all over Europe for the Moustach EDP. EDT is about the same price. (Havent smellt it yet) Both are easy to get.
Perfume Guy OR OTHERS: Does the EDP have a powdery quality? I'm loving what i'm hearing but I am perhaps a touch worried that the benzoin will push a baby powder or talc scent into what seems to be a beautiful parfum

I have the EDP.. the projection is very very poor.. I lose the fragrance after 30 minutes and it becomes a skin scent.. disappointing.. you must over spray or re apply .. people love this fragrance but I never got enough of the smell to decide if I like it.. I would not purchase another bottle

Hey Sebastian, I've been wearing Moustache edp for some time now. Last weekend I used Frederic Malle's Promise and I was taken away by some similarities I picked up. Is there something wrong with my nose or can you follow?
I thought that the EdT concentrée that I had sampled must have turned stale or something. Smelled like vintage (!) Kouros (i.e. a pub toilet) diluted with cheap orange juice. But since your experience has been somewhat similar... Gonna check out the 1949 nonetheless.
I’m surprised at how pricey this can get across the pond, in my small out-of-the way town in Spain I’ve seen this in cosmetic chain shops for about 50-60 €, and I’m sure I’ve seen it for even less online (like Notino and such). Personally, I found the 2018 edp delicious and completely unisex, it’s certainly among the first few spots in my wishlist.

I find the edp version to be very similar to CH prive but I dont see anyone talking about it I own both and to MY nose they smell 85 to 90% the same.. opinions.....
So how close is the modern Dior Eau Sauvage EDT with the original formulation? The modern Eau Sauvage EDT formulation is my second favorite fragrance I've ever smelled. I ordered a bottle of Dua's clones of a vintage formulation of original Eau Sauvage EDT and it is HORRID. I'm not sure if it was damaged by heat during shipment or it's a masceration issue, but it smells nothing like my Dior Eau Sauvage. Rochas Mustache Original 1949 smells like a crude precursor of the coming mid-century masterpieces to me. But if Eau Sauvage, Pour Monsieur and Monsieur de Givenchy actually smelled similarly crude in their original formulation, then that would be interesting. Because all three smell fantastic in their present formulation.
Great comparison. Thoroughly enjoyed it! I recently picked up the Edp from an online discounter here in Germany. I instantly fell in love with the fragrance. Haven't been able to give it a proper watering yet. From my initial impressions, I agree with you completely it's really warm, cozy and effervescent thanks to the orange. Love the combination of pink pepper, vanilla and cozy benzoin. There is definitely boozy aspects and neuonces, but, I can't quite put my finger on it. Anyway, Gonna put it to great use in the spring. It sounds like what dior just did with dior homme. The 2020 is very far from the original yet they decided to keep its name, instead of unveiling it as something original.
"women don't have mustaches" #fakenews I like the EDP. Its a crowd-pleaser, love-at-first-sniff, good for colder weather, versatile. Unisex. It would work well for a stylish man or a woman (with or without a mustache). A bit unmemorable if you have a large collection of fragrances, but there is something here that I crave. Maybe it's the benzoin and booziness. I haven't tried the original but I doubt I'd like it if its too classic.
I'm a bit confused. I've seen several other reviews and ratings that suggest the EDP is very masculine yet you say it is unisex. So far you're the only one that has suggested it has strong feminine qualities, so this may not be a good blind buy.
When you compare the old Moustache which is uber masculine to the new Moustache with it's overdose of sweet vanillic amber you will notice that it's not uber masculine. Usually men say vanilla is feminine. So I say test before you buy unless you love vanilla and amber! :)
I got this today i made the mistake most ppl make and get the other moustache the eau de toilette ..the smell of that is more like the original christian dior eau sauvage to my noes any way ..but this arrived for at the works office and the place went wild the ladies all loved the smell and the men in the office asked me where on hell did i get that from so i sent then the link to notino the only place near me in uk that had it in stock ..this is hands down one of the best smelling colognes i have and i have creed aventus that aint cheap absoultley fantastic stuff ¯\_(ツ)_/¯♥

Yep. Same here in the US. I had never heard of Mustache before I started researching fragrances on TH-cam.
I got my EDP from Belgium for $60 usd. It is a great fragrance, however; it doesn't last too long. It is gone after 4 hours.
Weird, I have no longevity issues with mine, lasts all day easily.

Yes there is a powderiness here sensitive people might notice it more than non sensitive people to powdery perfumes!! Test before you buy! ;)

Funny, the most prominent note to me, on the EDP, is rose. A very airy pleasant rose. Seems like the ladies would like it for themselves.

The EDP is so so so so so GOOD!!!

So how close is the modern Dior Eau Sauvage EDT with the original formulation? The modern Eau Sauvage EDT formulation is my second favorite fragrance I've ever smelled. I ordered a bottle of Dua's clones of a vintage formulation of original Eau Sauvage EDT and it is HORRID. I'm not sure if it was damaged by heat during shipment or it's a masceration issue, but it smells nothing like my Dior Eau Sauvage.
Rochas Mustache Original 1949 smells like a crude precursor of the coming mid-century masterpieces to me. But if Eau Sauvage, Pour Monsieur and Monsieur de Givenchy actually smelled similarly crude in their original formulation, then that would be interesting. Because all three smell fantastic in their present formulation.
Very nice fragrance it compares to tuxedo!!! On a budget!!

Great comparison. Thoroughly enjoyed it! I recently picked up the Edp from an online discounter here in Germany. I instantly fell in love with the fragrance. Haven't been able to give it a proper watering yet. From my initial impressions, I agree with you completely it's really warm, cozy and effervescent thanks to the orange. Love the combination of pink pepper, vanilla and cozy benzoin. There is definitely boozy aspects and neuonces, but, I can't quite put my finger on it. Anyway, Gonna put it to great use in the spring. It sounds like what dior just did with dior homme. The 2020 is very far from the original yet they decided to keep its name, instead of unveiling it as something original.
The new one is great parfum.

Rochas Moustache EDP to me smells like Terre D'Hermes and Bentley for Men Intense had a baby.
have you tried Cartier L'envol eau de toilette? its so gorgeous and im wondering if the mustache toilette is similar?
"women don't have mustaches" #fakenews I like the EDP. Its a crowd-pleaser, love-at-first-sniff, good for colder weather, versatile. Unisex. It would work well for a stylish man or a woman (with or without a mustache). A bit unmemorable if you have a large collection of fragrances, but there is something here that I crave. Maybe it's the benzoin and booziness. I haven't tried the original but I doubt I'd like it if its too classic.
I'm a bit confused. I've seen several other reviews and ratings that suggest the EDP is very masculine yet you say it is unisex. So far you're the only one that has suggested it has strong feminine qualities, so this may not be a good blind buy.
When you compare the old Moustache which is uber masculine to the new Moustache with it's overdose of sweet vanillic amber you will notice that it's not uber masculine. Usually men say vanilla is feminine. So I say test before you buy unless you love vanilla and amber! :)

The EDP would smell weird on a girl. It has a strong tobacco scent to it.

I got this today i made the mistake most ppl make and get the other moustache the eau de toilette ..the smell of that is more like the original christian dior eau sauvage to my noes any way ..but this arrived for at the works office and the place went wild the ladies all loved the smell and the men in the office asked me where on hell did i get that from so i sent then the link to notino the only place near me in uk that had it in stock ..this is hands down one of the best smelling colognes i have and i have creed aventus that aint cheap absoultley fantastic stuff ¯\_(ツ)_/¯♥
