After vault, down prc/rrc auto times the smf, re-card into close slash. Note that for prc you still need to time the rc right after the card comes out. However, here there is no different timing for prc or rrc, and it can be hard to know which you're gonna get (if first hit of vault hits or not). This is Johnnys best mixup imo since the overhead leads into card into close slash, and with this we can get it consistently. Also, I tested it, and the prc version is gapless... Meaning the card into close slash has no gap. If they're crouch blocking you always get prc (scenario 1). If they are stand blocking and close enough, you get rrc since the first hit of vault hits (scenario 2). However, I found a method for down rrc jmf to be gapless. The rc happens earlier compared to the no-first-hit of vault scenario, due to the hit stop of vault's first hit. But by holding jmf a little or delaying the rc cancel a little / a little of both, it can become gapless as well, since you do jmf lower to the ground like the first scenario. From testing this might be hard, but might be easy with practice. You can also do prc after your first vault hit hits, but if it whiffs (because they're crouching or not in range), this timing will make your prc come too late for jmf. You can't react with a delayed prc if first hit of vault hits, since for scenario 1 you have to hit prc right at the moment the card comes out of vault, in order to get time to do jmf. Since you can't react in time if first hit of vault hits or not, with a rc that gets jmf, this instead is the method: Method: Always use down rc at the earliest timing after card goes out, and react if first hit of vault hits with a delayed rrc cancel (delayed frc), or a jmf hold, or a combination of both, in order to hit a low enough jmf to make card into close slash gapless.
