We very much enjoy riding 2 up on the VStrom 650. Never an issue with power. To date we have put over 4,500 2 up miles on the VStrom. We have been on a few 12 hour rides (taking breaks for sightseeing and such). Those are a bit long where we do start to think about a more comfy saddle. The other day, we ‘accidentally’ caught air crossing an elevated railroad crossing. Cleared the tracks completely and landed softly with no loss of control. My wife was just laughing in the comms we use. LOL. So a pretty good test… though not recommended. 😅
Not sure. Have never ridden the 1050. I believe 650 would be best bet for mpg as we currently average 48-52mpg. We also have a Versys 1000 that is a very fun street bike, comfortable 2up, but requires premium gas and gets worse mpg at around 42mpg. On VStrom 650, would like heated grips and cruise control…with that, it would be next level, no need to consider 1050.
I changed fork springs and rear spring with epm springs and improved my ride quality
May have to look into that!
Enjoyed the scenery! How do you like riding two up on your VStrom? That's a sharp looking bike. Great video!

Curious about the rear floor boards.
was fun option to help with wife’s comfort.
Do you the 1050 would be a better choice for 2 up? what would the MPG difference be you think?
