Boar brush is my favorite brush. A while ago, I was fortunate enough to have my name selected in one of your appreciation give aways. One of the items was a Prorasso, by Omega, boar brush. It's not fancy, nor expensive. If I could only have one brush, that would be it! Thanks again, Ken!
A vintage Gillette shave is always fun. As an avid collector of vintage Gillette razors, they really did design and build them to last, to speak nothing of how cool they look. My collection spans the generations and also includes almost all of today's modern counterparts, but it's the vintage Gillettes I reach for the most. Top shave.
Just scored a '46-'47 Aristocrat in its original clam shell case with blade bank. I was pleasantly surprised to find four vintage unused, wrapped Rawleigh blades in the blade bank. Other than some minor brassing on the safety bars, from regular use, it's in decent shape and gives a wonderful shave.
I love that Proraso soap... I am a head shaver as well. A year ago I was at a local Ross and found 12 of those tubs for $2 a piece. I keep them in the shower and use that as a daily face and head soap. Smells so good and all the healthy ingredients for the skin
Very nice. Gillette Aristocrat is gorgeous razor! They knew how to do it before.) Omega brushes, like true friends, are made to work. Thank you for an interesting video.
Hi Ken- Great shave; thank you! Beautiful, vintage Aristocrat; thanks for using it in your shave. Have a great weekend. Be safe and be well. Best regards, as always, Ken!
Proraso = Italian Noxzema. I use the Walmart brand of Noxzema. It costs a fraction of Proraso, smells about the same, works the same & the jar is big enough to last me the rest of my life. Grandpa left me his EverReady boar brush when he passed away in 1965. It works great, but I've gone on to a plethora of synthetics, horsehair and a couple of badgers. Never gave boar much thought, but I recently realized that I have 2 Semogue, 2 Omegas and the EverReady boar bristle brushes. It's a toss up between boar & a couple of favorite synthetics. Alum Blocks are perfect for the guy who thinks he needs to use an excessively sharp blade. if you get an aftershave burn, try using a different brand of blade.
Ken, just bought myself some Proraso Shave Cream in the tube. I’ve had two excellent shaves with it. I’m tempted now to buy the aftershave to experience that legendary menthol burn. 🔥
Thanks Ken, great shave. You've motivated me to pull out my Proraso green and Omega boar brush for my weekend shave. Takes me back to where I started last year (after 40 years off). Have a great weekend!
Good shave Ken. Proraso green is awesome. Bath & Body Works carries C.O. Bigelow which is a rebranded version of Proraso green. We are having the exact opposite weather here. In fact, we are about to get hit with a nasty snow storm.
Great shave Ken, I have one of those adjustable aristocrats on the way for my collection. Here lately my setup has been a muhle r41 rose handle, Kensurfs 2021 boar brush, proraso white, and Duke cannon ice cold shave balm, I love that stuff, it goes from a menthol feeling, to literally making your face feel ice cold. Well thanks again for the great video Ken!!
Great overall setup Ken. Sweet razor and I am a big fan of Omega boar brushes. Proraso green is iconic. Everyone needs to try. Great shave. Bad luck today - you have tamed the R41 and this bit you. Thats just how it goes.
Great shave with that beautiful Gillette razor, Ken! Love Proraso, Red (Sandalwood) being my favorite!❤ Love the aftershave burn reaction. Have a great evening.💈👊
Great shave. I normally use an Omega 10066 brush for my shaves. It’s been a great workhorse and works just well with any soap/cream I’ve used in the past and present. Have a good one!
The green is nice but I have found the red is better for me and my skin and I love the sandalwood scent matches my Everyman jack sandalwood scent very well. Ken keep up the good work!!
Hey Ken great shave. I love my shave days. I always take my time. My wife knows when I say I'm going for a shave I'm gone for a good 30 minutes...lol. Take care
Hi Ken. I’ve got the Mühle R89 as my first ever traditional safety razor and I’m considering buying this particular model of the aristocrat. How aggressive is it? Thank you
Hello. What are your favorite shaving soaps or creams ? Which in your opinion are absolutely at the forefront when it comes to glide, shock absorption and skin condition after shaving ? Best regards.
It has been said by other youtubers (e.g. Iamcdb) that there is a soap that smells like the Proraso Green Aftershave (not the soap!), namely Phoenix Artisan Accoutrement's Awsome Sauce.
I know a guy who bought that exactly razor with box, instruction manual and blade dispenser for 15 Dollar (12 Euro) on a German flee market. In perfect condition. 😁
Some people do, but generally you shave 2-3 times and toss it. Some do as many shaves as they can, but at .09 +/- it’s pretty pointless. To each their own…
You can, especially for the price. I am a fan of the Gillette Silver Blues... I took one all the way up to 15 shaves as a test just to see. But normally I go 2-3 shaves and toss it. I shave on Sunday-Wednesday-Friday so I just know come Sundays shave, time to replace the blade. They are so cheap I dont see the point in taking it longer than that.

Ken you gotta trow some Fine Snake Bite lol 😂I love that…
Great Shave 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Something I do on my adjustable is 4 on 1st pass and 2 on my 2nd pass!
Great razor. Thanks for sharing. Proraso Green, one of my FAVORITE soaps. I usually get it in the tube form.
Very nice. Gillette Aristocrat is gorgeous razor! They knew how to do it before.) Omega brushes, like true friends, are made to work. Thank you for an interesting video.
Every product and the razor here, not speaking of the watch is iconic. Loved it.
Wow, what a beauty for a razor. 👍 Have a great shave Ken 💈

Love proraso blue, Ken. Not sure if I have ever seen you use it in one of your shave videos.
Thanks Ken, great shave. You've motivated me to pull out my Proraso green and Omega boar brush for my weekend shave. Takes me back to where I started last year (after 40 years off). Have a great weekend!

Beautiful razor Ken! You are a lucky guy! Have a good day.
Nice razor, Ken! Can't go wrong with Proraso. I have an early 2000s Omega Seamaster Chronograph with the dials. Love that watch!

Great Italian pieces.... congratulations
Very attractive razor, and you can't go wrong with Proraso products. Happy shaving 😋
Nicely done Ken💈💈 Proraso "Green" all the way...sweet! 60yr old vintage razor did the trick, looks good. Great video and shave, thanks. Take care.

Hey Ken great shave. I love my shave days. I always take my time. My wife knows when I say I'm going for a shave I'm gone for a good 30 minutes...lol. Take care
great shave Ken !!
Nice shave. What number setting would you consider the r41 on a slim adjustable?
Great razor Ken! I've been using the Proraso white a ton lately, does what I need. Cheers
Hi Ken. I’ve got the Mühle R89 as my first ever traditional safety razor and I’m considering buying this particular model of the aristocrat. How aggressive is it? Thank you
Yep, you did it to yourself at 5:02 with the “deadly sideswipe”.
Good observation. Makes you re-think how you shave when you make the little mistakes.
As soon as he did that i said out loud "that's gonna bleed"
Hello. What are your favorite shaving soaps or creams ? Which in your opinion are absolutely at the forefront when it comes to glide, shock absorption and skin condition after shaving ? Best regards.
Another great video Ken! I hope you do a review on the gillette warming razor?
It has been said by other youtubers (e.g. Iamcdb) that there is a soap that smells like the Proraso Green Aftershave (not the soap!), namely Phoenix Artisan Accoutrement's Awsome Sauce.
Love Proraso green. Just curious, how old is that tub of Proraso green? I noticed it still has the old logo on it!
I like Proraso shaves alot. Nice looking razor Ken. Take care.
Great video, thanks for sharing.
That is one beautiful razor!
So Ken, my man…so far I have acquired a “Black Beauty” with a “Fat Boy” on the way. I blame you for creating a monster! 😉👍🏻
Great shave, Ken!
9 80 schedule? Nine days of work where there is an expected work time of 80 hours? Just curious. I work a 5 40 myself. BTW love your videos :-)
Beautiful razor
Proraso old formula is the best ... anyway, Italians do it better! 😉 Thanks Ken and greetings from Italy.
Great video!
What are some of your top 3 shave scents?
Hey Ken!
I know a guy who bought that exactly razor with box, instruction manual and blade dispenser for 15 Dollar (12 Euro) on a German flee market. In perfect condition. 😁
For me the Aristocrat Fatboy is a little more aggressive than the original Fatboy if you try it on setting 8 or 9
Love uu kensurf
I just made the switch from an electric razor. Do you put a new blade in every time you shave with a safety razor?
Some people do, but generally you shave 2-3 times and toss it. Some do as many shaves as they can, but at .09 +/- it’s pretty pointless. To each their own…

Hello ken...🇵🇰
