    Happy New Year, Oleg & Bond! Congrats on another great purchase with this vintage piece. I agree, for the age especially, it's in amazing condition, as it has unique style & is a wonderful value as well. I do like the look, but unfortunately not practical for me; as almost all vintage pieces are just too small for my 8-1/2 inch wrist. Still, a very nice addition for your collection! A great find !

      Thank you my friend. Vintage market has very few large watches:( I agree this watch would look tiny on your wrist. All the best and happy holidays!

    My favorite thing about this watch is the ticking! I wish all watches were that loud. It makes me feel like the watch is very substantial. I know it’s not always the case, but it’s a feel good thing. Thanks Oleg!

    Simply gorgeous and gorgeously simple ... my kind of watch! Thanks for another great review, Oleg. I look forward to the review of your Phoibos Sentinel ... I am still loving my PY700C which I bought on your recommendation 👍😁🇨🇦.

    Bought a vintage Chrono with a landeron 51 movement today. Just stunning. The factory case is gold plated, which has faded, so i might get it removed and brush the case. Or go full custom and build a skeleton watch around the movement.

    Great Piece! Im looking at a few of these but I need to ask, How do you tell the difference between the Chronograph and the Chrono stop?

    That looks really good for 70 years old grand-pa watch. I just love the sound of crown winding and rather big size of it. by the way, I like the movement ticking sound. to me, the sound of the movement is like the sound of heart beat. So for very old vintage watches to have that kind of strong and crisp sound, I think that watch will go on for few more decades without any problems.
    Great review of a vintage watch. thanks Oleg.

    • @24hourstime
      @24hourstime  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Alex. I don't mind the ticking either but some people can't stand it. I think the crown was probably replaced at some point. All the best, Oleg.

    I bought a Cimier chronostop nearly identical to the one you showed. But I still like it and for the price I can't complain.

      Very nice choice! I like these chrono stop watches but I don't like when eBay sellers try to sell them as chronographs.

    I have a Cimier Seven Seas Sextant. It is a absolutely stunningly brilliant watch. These are almost never seen stateside.
    I feel the Seven Seas Sextant is one of the most ornate chronographs out there.
    Everything from the sail hand and an anchor on the chrono second hand as well as many other thoughtful features.
    Cimier is one of the most underappreciated watch makers out there. If you are in Europe you will see these floating around.
    Everyone who has a chance to look at the Cimier I own falls in love with everything that is going on around all the features on the dial. I buy and eventually sell watches all the time. This one however I have never considered selling.
    The latest Seven Sea's models do not come close to this watch. If you get a chance to look at the Seven Sea's Sextant you will understand what I am talking about.
    The one problem that may arise is finding a supply for original parts. Cimier isn't one of the easiest companies to contact and get a response. That is kinda a shame because they really offer some nice watches.

    My friend, you sure find some very interesting timepieces. For Christmas, my wife gave me a very cool bullhead from CT Scudaria. By the way, the Catholic Christmas celebrations in Lviv were phenomenal. I am anticipating an even better show on Orthodox Christmas)))

    Stunning watch mate. I think even if you don't use the chronograph it's worth it for the look. As you know like you I love vintage pieces. I have 2, both which are sadly out of rotation at the moment. My Ricoh's original bracelet has broken and try as I might not only can I not fix it, I can't seem to remove it to change the strap. I need to look at it a bit more. My Ingersoll is struggling to work, and like you say I've been told it was "mass produced" therefore not expected to be serviced, and as such I can't seem to find anyone to look at it. 😔. Which is a shame as it's a stunning looking piece even with the scratches on the crystal. Hopefully one day will be able to get them back in rotation. Both were cheap, but both are stunning. Definitely need to take care with vintage, but I do think the pleasure you get with them far outweighs any negatives they can come with. Enjoy those vintage pieces mate ⌚

    That's a awesome vintage watch, winds like a 1920s pocket watch, love it. Just one thing has the crown been replaced, it just looks a bit too big

    Are there any options for refurbishing the case? Like polishing out the scratches and re-plating? Or would this be a faux pas? 🤔

    • @24hourstime
      @24hourstime  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it's possible but would cost quite a bit. Not sure if it's worth the investment.

    What a charming piece! Arguably far more individual than old high end stuff.A bit like a vintage Smith's piece the UK was once famous for.Rugged and built as a tool! Cheers,Len.

      24Hours At A Time. I recieved a Cronel Super 400 for Christmas and it's a EB 8800 1 jewel. So far, the movement is solid. I'm a bit jealous you got yours serviced.for such a great price. Keep up the great videos!

    I like the older chronographs. Many of them today are too large for me. Most are 42mm or larger. The older simpler movements are nice. Less to break down.

      24Hours At A Time ok. That eplains cost for $75.00 my tech strips it apart & does deep clean, then reassembles, & oils it, and check its running.

    Oleg. Love that watch. Bit small for me. Wish vintage watches were a bit larger. Watched every vid so far very impressed.
    I've just acquired 2 watches from watch gang wheel spins that I think I got for a song both were upgraded on the spin one on black Fri one just before Xmas. I wondered what your thoughts on watch gang were. I'm really happy with my limited but lucky experience. I cancelled 2 months of subs on the trot to spin the wheel and came up lucky. However the one month of black sub I got (£100) provided a watch I didn't like and could barely give away on ebay got £25 +postage
    What are your thoughts on watch gang? Did I drop lucky and should run. Or is it worth leaving my black sub to run. ?

    • @24hourstime
      @24hourstime  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Dave! So glad you like the videos man!
      Watch gang and subscription services are fun for a certain type of collector. Someone who want's to build their collection quickly and don't want to spend too much time buying watches. Plus the thrill of not unknown is exciting. However it's not for me. I like to research the watches. The fun for me is deliberately buying watches that fit into my collection and to see how the collection grows and changes. That's just my 2 cents. All the best, Oleg.

    Sorry to say those watches are crap. A one jewel lucerne from the 60s & 70s are much better quality. That Chateau chrono you bought is a much better watch.
