- "When a blind man cries" is a song by British rock band Deep Purple. In 1999 RICHIE SAMBORA of Bon Jovi appeared as a guest musician on a Stuart Smith album - Stuart Smiths Heaven and Earth performing a cover of this song... (and I really love this one)

Simply amazing. He has a brilliant, soulful voice, and he is one of the best guitarist, songwriter.

Who would've ever guessed Bon Jovi's guitarist is a better vocalist than the man himself. I haven't had goosebumps listening to a song in years but HOLY SHIT.
I completely agree. Still a bon Jovi fan. But Richie has so much better vocals. And plays guitar like nobody's business. Jon never would've made it this far if not for Richie.

Not true, it's a matter of taste. I defenitely prefer Jon's voice. Listen Hallelujah performed by Jon. Leonard Cohen said that it had been his favourite version of that song.
@@ilokon7162 It's all a matter of taste, Jon has a melodious voice, but Richie has strength, power, soul. Watch as When a Blind men Cries sings, Blues version. Jon and Richie are different, there are those who prefer Jon and others to Richie.

It would be hard not to be better than JBJ.
They complimented each other well. I believe that Richie is a much more versital vocalist than JBJ and has greater emotional depth. Love this because it shows his soulful side.

That was pretty good....Better than Metallicka's version.....He has got a good voice. I don't know much about him, but it was better than I thought it might be after reading a comment that he got it very wrong.....Still not as good as The Original, but a good effort.

If you like this cover version of a Deep Purple ballad check out another of their songs, Soldier of Fortune. The Purple version is great but Opeth (progressive death metal but don't let that put you off, they are a great band) do an excellent cover.

Like many good Singer Ritchie has no change to be successfull as Bon Jovi. Without that special Voice and Personality, like Jon has, you cant stick out. To say it hard but clearly ( and I really love Ritchi): If I want to hear a very good Blues Singer and Guitarist live, I go in the Pub of my Hometown, but there I can not not find such charismatic Singer and brillant Songwriter and Performer like Jon. But Jon needs good

This is a brilliant cover from Ritchie. Having been a Deep Purple fan for years, I fell in love with song long ago...but after hearing this version, I feel like I have been taken to another planet far away. Richie is so unbelievably talented and I pray he will stay sober because I believe he has so much to give the world of music.

This is the most amazing song i`ve ever heard! If a cover song can be better than the original, this is the one! I also have both of Richies solo albums (and I am also a big fan of Deep Purple) and I really think he is one of the most talented male singer/songwriters in the music business. Jon Bon Jovi owes a hell lot to this guy!
