you aren't alone. reach out. don't isolate. create a support network. find solace and joy where it can be found like you do in music. keep on fighting. life is worth living.
My channel is not monetized, and none of the videos on it are either. You shouldn't be seeing any ads period, and if you are then this channel has nothing to do with them. Thankfully, I also don't do this for a living. I just like sharing music and reading people's comments. If Plini asks me to remove this video, I will do so immediately (I took down the entirety of Corelia's "Nostalgia" when they asked me to). I only uploaded this because I just mistakenly assumed it wasn't already on TH-cam.
Best new player I've seen or heard since Guthrie. He sounds like a cross between Guthrie,Tosin,Vai with a little Metheny and Jeff Beck thrown in but has a fresh musical identity all his own.
Personally reminds me of climbing a barrier in life. Once over, you're perplexed by how great the world seems through your eyes, while listening to this soundtrack of the ages. A great listen Plini, Thank You!
6:56 in Tarred and Feathered - I love this atmospheric, lydian, shifting section here. Some really clever and beautiful writing and playing across this album.
14:00-15:00 may be the best segment of drumming ive found to this date. somehow manages to go crazy while still showing immense restraint, so far beyond my own skill. man i gotta practice more
Definitely with you on the album art. The texture reminds me of the papier mâché statues I used to make as a kid in art class. Something about that art style.... it makes everything seem so blissfully far removed from the world, in a way that's never been more relevant.
Why is it that music that is difficult or doesn't have the "Octane" 4/4 intro, verse, chorus, verse, outro. basic mechanics, is massively unpopular? It seems as if people don't LISTEN to music, it is just a background noise. Does no one wonder "Why, do I like this song, what makes it so?"
Matthew Force The more complex music is, the less people are willing to take time to listen and appreciate it. Music became a product, needs to be easy to listen to & easy to consume. That's why complex music is loosing popularity
I could not agree with you more man that's part of why I spend so much time loving and sharing these wonderfully talented musicians such as Plini, SkyHarbor, Disperse, Intronaut, Tesseract, Polyphia, etc, the list goes on.
Best comment and sane observation I've read for a long time. If you are interested search for Frank Zappa and his struggle with the same topic in the 70-80's. Notting new under the sun....
you have to understand also, if you look at it like advertising. Certain colors, shades , tones attract a buyer ... Like red... The same can be said with pop music. It's already been shown that certain chord progressions are just subconsciously "catchy".
it may be complicated fresh and whatever you want to name it, but i have feeling i've heard this before. chords progresion sounds similar, and faster parts are really blend. But i love drums and more melodic parts
You don't understand. People search for Plini and this video comes on, people listen to it all the way through, and the artist doesn't get that extra few cents that would have gone to them, had the person clicked on the original video instead. It's not that you are making money off his music, which you obviously aren't - it's that potential money isn't getting to the artist that should.
i have asked this question before & never got an answer. its probably marco minneman, him and troy wright do most of the plini stuff & this doesnt sound like troy but i really dont know the answer. anyone care to chime in? The credits say "plini- everything else" & the only other credits are a piano part and two guitar parts
Don't know how this is "unlisted"... just found this again for the millionth time through Google. Please be honest and remove this so Plini may reap the benefits.
when I first uploaded it it was public, Plini contacted me and asked me to make the video unlisted until at least a few months after the video was published. I did as he requested and only recently made it public again, as he said that would be alright. His upload has over 300k views, mine has hardly acquired 1000 since I made it public again. I don't see the problem here. besides, when you google "Plini Sweet Nothings" it is his video that comes up. But if this is really an issue then I will remove it yet again. (also, what do you mean by "the thousandth time"? How often do you goolge for this ep?) On another note, of my all my uploads this is the only one where three separate people have asked me to take it down... is Plini having his friends hunt down public content and flag it? I have the 'official' upload for vildhjarta's ep thousands of evils and neither the band nor the label asked me to remove it. I included links in the description to the *free* download Plini offered via mediafire, as well as Plini's bandcamp page. I understand why he might want me to remove it again, but to be honest the amount gained from a few thousand views seems marginal. None of the videos I have are monetized, my account isn't even set up for that. The reason I re-uploaded it was to push the ep to my 300 or so subscribers, and to allow viewers of my more popular uploads to find this ep in the related links. I'm not trying to be difficult, I just fail to see how I'm being dishonest here. I also think Plini's already reaped the benefits since my upload was the first one on youtube of sweet nothings and I removed that when the time was most critical for him. Almost a year later this issue seems like a nonissue.
Dude, cmon. You should really remove this from TH-cam and let Plini collect the views on his own channel. I understand you wanting to help him get his music out to more ears, but when you are making part of your living off TH-cam monetization, you are really not helping him in that regards.
I often listen to this album on the brink of ending it all and many times it has pulled me back from my thoughts to somewhere safe.
hang in there buddy, don't know the back story but keep on fighting
you aren't alone. reach out. don't isolate. create a support network. find solace and joy where it can be found like you do in music. keep on fighting. life is worth living.
@@Kevvvvv651 great response. it wasn't for me but i felt the love.
Any other albums you'd recommend for this sort of times?

+Orlok Subodai ..... Yes, but fresh and highend played.
Orlok Subodai Tosin and Beck are rubbish.
Tosin has been one of the most innovative players in the past 10 years. Dafuq you talking about?
Agreed, and Beck is so far evolved it's ridiculous. He and the guitar are as one.
Jeff Beck 'Where Were You' is rubbish? You clearly know feckall about music!
Personally reminds me of climbing a barrier in life. Once over, you're perplexed by how great the world seems through your eyes, while listening to this soundtrack of the ages. A great listen Plini, Thank You!

Sorry for possibly ruining your experience live.
Visual and audible artwork!!
MILA DZ👊commentator .
The metal progressive .
PLINI you have a place in this word with your rock fusion contemporary.
I need to take a nature walk in the CO rockies while listening to this album....thank you Plini. Holy shit that first solo just melted my face.
Your music like a fresh breath for me
I could swear Guthrie Govan did that first solo! He didn't, but man that sounded close.
Man do I love Plini.
Absolutely gorgeous.
Plini and Gru - "Opening".!!!

the first note on this album is brilliant starless reference.
Amazing EP! :) Thank you for making good music! :)
Pfffff, the first introduction of the lead guitar !!! Man, that's killer !
WTF, this is amazing!!!

Some outstanding composer skills here..!!!! (Wish it was me)...!!!
stuff like this is the next best thing!
Sorry, I did misunderstand your comment. Video is now unlisted!

3:28 and onwards is one of the best guitar solos in the history

Aural ear candy. This is really amazing. Required listening to all. From beginning to end...

Imagine Jimmy Hendrix gets resurrected and gets the chance to hear the beauty of modern Prog music, including Plini.

Because most people don't give a shit about music.
impressive!

I'm Sorry for interrupting your Christchurch gig with "play Tarred and Feathered!"
Who is the drummer on this record???
i have asked this question before & never got an answer. its probably marco minneman, him and troy wright do most of the plini stuff & this doesnt sound like troy but i really dont know the answer. anyone care to chime in? Outdoor Boi most of his early albums are actually programmed drums. I assume it’s the same here but don’t quote me on that
Programmed!

3 dislikes. Thats funny
