This music makes me feel like my soul is watching its former self with fond memories and I'm not sure what I mean by that but it sounds right in my mind
Well, you just might remember aspects of your past tying you to this or these tunes. We all remember things like this. Sometimes just a brief interlude in a tune takes you back to some former time. That's who we are as humans. No explanation necessary.
@ Nathaniel id be lying if i said as much as the new stuff, but is pretty awesome to get an idea of the way they have progressed as musicians then to now :) i thoroughly enjoyed this and have listened through a couple times
I just discovered Plini a couple of days ago. There's no way to describe his music other than amazing. He takes musical art to a whole different level.
Did you hear it on a djent website forum? Yeah, my friend found Halcyon before Plini, and I heard Animals As Leaders when they first released the debut album. I wish I knew the name of the website my friend showed me all this amazing music on!
I used to listen to this album so much in the past when it first came out, then I completely forgot about it. I remember the video on had about 1000 views on youtube. So glad I stumbled upon it again. :)
I am relistening to this album now. I first discovered it when I was in high school. It blew my mind then, and I am reminded of the way that felt now. Thank you so much for making this available!
Awesome, awesome, powerful album! Gifted and awesome musicians. Keep up the good work guys. Hold on to that gifted drummer you have. You are not find another one so gifted as he is. He has made your group soar, not that you others have not, but a drummer sets the mood swing for your destiny. Read Psalms 139 and see just what God thinks about you dudes! It is an awesome compliment about you as an individual. You guys are special people! Don’t over look what He has in store for you men. He love you very much dudes!! Don’t adulterate your gift; use it for His honor and glory man. Blessed, awesome men. God bless.
Ive been checking these types of bands since a while, this one wins by far! Excellent music in here, and a huge TX for the good taste on recording aesthetic... This thing sounds ALIVE
I found this album on TH-cam by random back in 2012, when the TH-cam algorithm was way different haha, had no idea till a few years ago that I was listening to Plini the whole time lol 😆 no wonder I thought it was so different than some of the generic metalcore I was listening to at that time.
God, bands just need to release their demos! Both this and chons demo EP are phenomenal and not on any streaming services. Hell, I’d buy this on vinyl. Its that good.
I would drag my junk through a pile of broken glass if it meant I could have the mental capacity to construct and play music like this. Gotta practice more. Much more.
I remember hearing this back in the day when I was in Junior High School and then when I found out Plini was on it years later I was like no wonder it's so good ahahahah. I don't like the lofi quality of some black metal recording, but this has such an interesting lofi-ish production which I like.
I don’t believe so. I would grab one. I wish I could find Robot Butterfly by Halcyon. Haven’t heard it in years. I forget how it goes. I think it’s lost.
how old is this album? i've only heard pastures but man... plini has gotten just better! (at guitar and mastering) sounds cool but the difference is quite big. hugs!!
Man, your drum rolls are awesome dude, again, you are very talented and gifted. Most awesome drummer of all drummers I have had the chance to listen to. I want to know your name so I can personally write you an email and tell you howdynamic you are man. God bless you awesome drummer!
haha YEEEAH! i hear what ur talking bout... as much as i fuckin LOVE plini, not one muhfucker can play the way GG does... im sure people get close but no cigar.. im 99.9% convinced that Guthrie can play anything his mind can think of in that moment, and play it perfect. the aristocrats is the real deal when it comes to super groups.
great album. can someone help me? which are the most important settings/effects to get this metallic, cold, 'futuristic' and slightly distorted lead tone? best regards
sounds like a mic'd up kit to me, and not in a very good room for it either lol, but sounds like a damn good improv job with it to me. In some places you can even hear the kick and floor tom slightly vibrating the snares, room mic gain was a wee bit too high so it came through
Plini at 19 years old...sublime
I've spent probably hundreds of hours listening to Plini, and never knew this existed. I'm so excited!! 🤘
why is this not on spotify :(
@@MrLoggfreak Truth.
Same
I understand
For me that's the best album of plini
This music makes me feel like my soul is watching its former self with fond memories and I'm not sure what I mean by that but it sounds right in my mind

His note choice, use of modes, his pick attack and tone. The man is a genius.
How did i not know this was a thing?
settling down for 42 minutes of what im sure will be time well spent.
Well said man
And how'd you enjoy it?! Isn't it groovy?
@ Nathaniel id be lying if i said as much as the new stuff, but is pretty awesome to get an idea of the way they have progressed as musicians then to now :) i thoroughly enjoyed this and have listened through a couple times
i know the feeling
this fucking groove
When I first listened to noodle for the first time 8-9 years ago I just couldnt get the melody out of my mind,it was like an obsession!
So you first listened to it multiple times?
I just discovered Plini a couple of days ago. There's no way to describe his music other than amazing. He takes musical art to a whole different level.
I'm glad you finally found him, I found him in 2015 late
A few weeks ago for me. Honestly life changing
Wow, so cool to hear Pastures then and now.
Still Plini's best album.
I’ve been listening to this album since like 2012 and idk if I’m just being nostalgic but I enjoy this EP more than anything Plini has released.
the albums don't have this kind of sound rlly
I agree bro, this is more to my liking than his Plini stuff
Hey man. :)
@@TrentTheTraveler fancy seeing you here!
@@TrentTheTraveler everytime I listen to this album I think of how much fun we had back in 2011 and 2012.
I love every album that Plini has released, but imo Pastures is his best work.
The track "Nesting" is the most beautiful, emotion invoking track I've ever heard. All-star songwriting
pastures.. this vs. now.... WOW!... its like a small glimpse inside the mind of mr. plini
when Django fett plays it makes me feel like i could take on the whole empire myself!
I love how the quality of the recording sounds like it was done in one of their garages haha it makes me love it so much more
The solo in "Nesting" NAILED it.
And "Pastures" was out of this world. Loved the new rendition.
Its crazy how I knew this album before I knew who Plini was. This was basically Plini's first album.
Did you hear it on a djent website forum? Yeah, my friend found Halcyon before Plini, and I heard Animals As Leaders when they first released the debut album. I wish I knew the name of the website my friend showed me all this amazing music on!
Talking about got-djent.com?
this album is something different its indescribable im amazed and cant get enough. these songs hold so much power
Pastures still hunts me everytime . old and new one

Good ol' Noodle
So good
Waterfall is one of my favourite songs, I wish it were on Spotify
Some of this album appears on Plinis newest stuff
His best work for me..
Best album ever made in human history! 🤘✨
Can't believe I missed this somehow. Absolutely beautiful.
So glad I found this. Waterfall is spectacular.
..and here, I sadly searched plini for hopes of hearing a song I haven't heard before.. I LOVE this!!
I am relistening to this album now. I first discovered it when I was in high school. It blew my mind then, and I am reminded of the way that felt now. Thank you so much for making this available!
Theres just something about Plini's articulation that is like no other
That is completely and utterly untrue. 🤣
Ichika nito, tim henson
What..? How is this 7 years old and never heard of it. Thanks youtube algorithm

Best album ❤
Almost feels like, ah yes I knew I would listen to you
I had no idea Plini played on this and I already liked what I'd previously heard.

Pastures! Would marry this song if it could bear my children. Love both versions.
this is an amazing track
its a crime that this album is not available on spotify

Woow thanks for sharing this!! Much appreciated
I love this. All of it.
This is so fun to listen to
It's a ride
Is that a pun? Cause I hear a lot of ride cymbals
Hmm I didn't think of that! Very nice!
Nathaniel Berkland lol
@@jeremiahfernandez9161 haushsuhaushs so good
"Plini and Friends"
Whaaaaaaaa?!?! :D
You are exactly right
His playability leads your thoughts into many unresolved places
Django Fett actually has some Django in it (the oher one), that's so cool!
I love how he goes back into the upbeat from 7:28
Tony Ridgway yea it stays on that upbeat for a while kind of makes you uncomfortable it’s exactly why I like prog. Smashes expectations.
So who are these friends? This record is amazing by the way.
8:47 When bleed by messhugah (i probably wrote that wrong) goes accoustic

Do I Hear Native Instruments Studio Drummer for Kontakt 5? Love it either way!
That's very good unkown instrumental! I LIKE!! :)
Masterpiece !!
I like style plini play..I wanna be like him..
Django Fett absolutely amazing song !
thanks for uploading this!
No problem! I love to let people know of this album!
Intriguing album! Love this a lot!!
its like listening to music that doesn't know what genre it wants to be
34:13 - Thirteen Reasons Why Intro
plini is goood
Anyone else think Wave of Babies by AAL was about to start at the beginning of Django Fett ? :P
I love Animals As Leaders. New album almost here! I can’t wait!
@@ALENABERKLAND I am already moist :P
halcyon... 8 years later - Outer worlds
Pastures time stamp should be 35:06!
I wish that the first minute of this album could last for an entire song
i think this album is great but the song 'Pastures" is pure genius.
Yes, and he sounds a bit like Allan Holdsworth...
Check out the new version on Handmade Cities if you haven't
Ну и где там песня? Кто поет? Совсем не слышно.
Damn is this not on spotify? :(
i love it
Does this album exist on CD? I'd love a copy. Just saw Plini in concert for the second time - AMAZING!!!!

It's from 2011!
This IS pastures
he has refined his riffs fosho,, in this album i can hear hints of all his work. i like the roughness of this production too...
The first two minutes sounds like it belongs in Risk of Rain. Great stuff!
still goes fucking hard
holy crap...I didn't know this existed...wow.... YES! trying to attempt pastures solo right now...is this even realistic? so insanely hard/beautiful

I think I saw an interview where he said he uses Fractal Audio's AxeFx.
When I say "One more song" I mean the rest of the album...
I must be only person in my country listening to this 🤔
Someone please tell me this is on spotify! I cant seem to find it and this is god tier music
Simp.
I have been looking...who are the "Friends" ????
I honestly have no idea whether it was Plini alone or with others. I changed the title, as I’ve no idea.
Django fett reminds me of vile from. Megaman x.
Jesus H this album.... FAK!
9:09 sounds almost like Ruin by Lamb of God lol
Sounds like The Faceless
WTF! Simply fall on this. My god. TAKE MY MONEY!
How does one pronounce Halcyon?
Hal (like the name)- see - uhn
12:36
This is the same Genre as Halo 2's guitar heavy music. 5 and a half centuries too early?
Is this the album where he used free vst guitar plugins? if that's the case, it sounds great :0
Lυиαтyc in the comments of a different video I saw plini say that was the sweet nothings EP
So much better than the new Pastures
So... you have both Mitsuda and Plini on your channel.
Subscribed.
Just a few good grooves!
who did the drums?
sounds like a mic'd up kit to me, and not in a very good room for it either lol, but sounds like a damn good improv job with it to me.
In some places you can even hear the kick and floor tom slightly vibrating the snares, room mic gain was a wee bit too high so it came through
It's superior drummer. Simon Grove wasn't involved in this project at all.
Django Reinhardt does a guest appearance at ~ 25m40s (th-cam.com/video/NdXveVxU1V0/w-d-xo.htmlm40s)
