Can't wait for you to see "OUTRO" the music video it's kinda like "HOPE"
The cage is actually something that he willingly puts himself in to keep the world out for his own protection. That's why the keys are in his own hand. Also, in the search and leave me alone, the shopping cart simply represents the cage but a mobile version. In the song leave me alone, you'll notice he's sitting inside the shopping cart which is him going back to his safe place where he locks himself in away from the world. In the search he's pushing the shopping cart because he's afraid to leave it behind in case he wants to get back in.
I feel the cage is a reference to mansion song when he talks about building a safe room that he doesn’t let anyone in there. But he does in a way with his fans through his music. Hence during this vid u see people in and out of the cage with him
the safe room described in mansion and the cage are different. He isolates himself from everything in his safe room, and let's no one ever near it. He said it in mansion, people disappear near the safe room.
And the cage concept is pretty much explained in this video
The "clouds" line is kind of a foreshadowing to the song "Clouds" I think.
10:40 the mike posner joker reference was meant differently.
Mike posner is one of the actors who played the role of the joker in some Batman movies.
And he’s arguebely one of the best joker actors.
And since nf is a big fan and also can relate with the joker to a certain degree. He’s saying when I am on my own, you could put a camera in my face, and you might think I am going crazy like the joker in his movies.
