- Mark takes you through a simple step by step guide on how to tie what he believes is the perfect carp fishing rig to cover most carp fishing situations. This simple to tie rig even tells you if the carp have managed to get away with it. A tried and trusted carp catcher that I'm sure will help you put a few more carp on the bank.
For all you people claiming it's just a korda advert in disguise, Mark is linked to Korda, so he's hardly gonna go and buy esp, nash, fox or any other companies products is he ??? He didn't really ram it down our throats either, he shows us what he has in front of him but he didn't even mention the names of any of them. Instead he opted for terms such as "braided hooklink component", "curved shank hook".
Does it matter
Not in the slightest!
I have bundles of time and respect for this young man
Just tried this rig for the first time, had a few carp the last being a beautiful 34.3lb mirror on south at yateley. Bottom lip every time, my choice of rig going forward will be using this on my trip to Churn pool on the 15th july. Thanks again for sharing.
Absolutely love this rig...without a doubt the best rig I ever used. Used the rig during a session and was able to catch 3 upper 30lb carp in 10 inch weed.
Same here mate, not lost a fish on it yet. 100% faith in this rig!
Same as best rig
I need to comend you mark on this video as this rig nailed to upper doubles this weekend on a day when no one was catching I needed to present a single hook bait at a range off 90-100yards with a strong eastily wind close to Reeds on the far bank so used this rig for its anti tangle properties and it did the trick thanks for the advice 😀 👍 this will be my rig of choice from now on😊
Happydays... Mark i caught my first 60 pounder on that rig...thanks alot fot this amazing rig...
Excellent rig and a top bloke, Thanks for sharing Mark
Like the getting done aspect of this rig and it can be used with all baits ! Cheers 🍻
This is the only rig I use now has caught me loads of fish with great hook holds every time
i use coated hooklink and just strip al lillte off its almost the same but easier
Caught my new PB of 27lb 15oz using this rig at 2:30 this morning 😀. Just started using it and so far it’s 2 for 2.
Looks great but only problem I can see is if you do get ‘done’ the rig won’t reset itself as the D will have disappeared and the bait be stuck next to the eye. Great to see if you’ve been done but if you get done in first 5 minutes, it’s potentially out all night not fishing.
You’ll still hook fish with the bait tight to the hook. Yes it’s not ideal but even if it did render the rig useless, I want to know what’s happening on my spot
Yes I agree with that. I much more want the rig to reset 100 percent than anything else. There are a lot of situations where I don’t want to recast unless I really have to.
tried it this weekend and it got me fish :) thank you!
At the end of the day it's all about confidence but let's face it the basic hair rig has accounted for more big carp than any other!
Our Love of Carp exactly what I use
Great video, what knot did you use on the other end of the rig? Second question what length of floor?
What silicon is this your using I have 1mm Nash it’s so tight but what is being used here looked more practical in terms of pushing over the hood eye thanks Lewis
Nice rig pal, will try it out many thanks
that's really cool... thanks for the extra tips.. hats off ❤
Great video mark but you don't really show what to do with the opposite end from the hook I assume you create another loop to use a quick link? Is that right?
yes mate, just a look that pops onto a quick change swivel Peter, glad you liked the video also.
Brilliant rig, had 2 ducks and a PB cormorant so far.🤣
Pretty much what Julian Cundiff has been using for years
richard mullins he uses a multi rig
@@mrburns2429 which is what this is. But a combi version
@@antonywagon4564 he uses shrink tube so no quick change or indication that you're being done.
Could the silicone be replaced with a rubber kicker if using a different hook pattern?
yes mate as long as its tight over the eye :)
I also notice with my beady eye a bit of putty or a dropper halfway up hooklink in the video is that something you think it still needs?? As not shown in tying...let me know ta.
Keep it going, very helpful video.
Thanks Adam
The rig looks a good rig on its own to use i like the fact the hook moves backwards towards a fishes mouth.
what I don't like is this unnecessary need to drop leads all the time.
I understand snagging up and being in contact with the fish but littering lake beds with leads is not good for the fishes environment.
Kevin Sutton but it’s a great marketing ploy, I think in years to come dumping the lead will be banned on most waters it definitely in the long run Carnt be good all that lead in the lake
Mark have you ever tried tying it with the krank style hooks? Or do you think the curve pattern is more effective?
It works with all hooks mate, but to be honest the in-turned eyes are better. Tight lines
What kind of silicon tube Is It?
0.75mm silicone mate
With this helicopter rig do you recommend a stronger leader to prevent cut offs or do just use your mainline? Thanks Shaun
I've found the line fine to be honest Shaun but a little lead core leader 6" long would also be perfect just to protect the line if you had any fears.
Best rig I used
hello, what kind of tubing for your rig you use pls? because with shrimp tube korda it's move and i need change thanks Mark
Its 0.75mm standard silicon tube mate, not shrink. cheers
Baitworks thanks where I find please it’s Korda Nash ....
@@fredericdevys6955 loads of companies do it mate, just type in 0.75mm silicone tube into google and you'll find it from most angling companies.
0.75mm??? I can’t get the bloody silicone over the eye of the hook! You sure it’s not slightly bigger than 0.75mm? Asking for a friend….
Just a thought, baitworks should make pre made rigs
Caught loads on this rig over last few weeks.
Great rig mate isn't :)
Baitworks ,watched this rig tutorial last year. When we went fishing caught most of the fish and never had a loser.
FRIENDS fished with hinged rig, helicopter and ronnie rig.same water and i fished with this rig.
Is my all time favorite.
Thanks.
Hi mark, great rig and I am in the process of making it but I am confused as to what diameter silicone tubing your using as you have said 1.2-1.5 then 1.5-2.0 and in the comments you have suggested 0.75 ? I just want to purchase the right one ?
All depends on the size of hook mate, 1mm is about the average for most as a starting point. cheers
Tryed all and found that the straight forward iq2 d rig is the more effective out of all I've tried! But good rig👍
Good rig, love the stiff rigs.
Been my best rig to date the iq followed by the old faithful blow back
I've been trying to tie this rig and find the mono keeps slipping under the braid do you have any advice on how to stop this from happening
You need to make sure you go back through the loop in the flourocarbon the same way as you started
Also look.up an Albright knot basically that same and you may see what ur missing also try doing a few more wraps going down I find if I don't do enough wraps it will slip.
What braids are you useing mark and what the other line ur said I had there to if you could get back to me mark
Does the loop not tighten up to the hook while when you real in? Thus not being able to tell what’s going on.
Hi Alan, no mate its stays in position until you get a bite mate. The tight silicon is the key.
Baitworks that what I was thinking as with the multi the loops always tight to the hook when you real in.
Look forward to trying this rig 👍🏻
very good rig
Hi Mark, really excellent rig, thanks for sharing. Can I ask a couple of really key questions please. Firstly, how long is the maximum length you would have the supple loop? I've tied 3 up so far and one of them is about 2" in total, whereas the others are 1.5-1.75". The 2"one feels a bit long, but wanted to check. Secondly, do you set the D to 'end' opposite the hook point? Thanks in advance. Ps, I've tried using long shank aligners instead of silicone as I didn't have any. I think they work well, but please let me know if you think it will affect the rig. Apologies for the questions, but I like to get everything accurate.
Hello mate, you likely won't get a reply on such an old video so thought I'd answer from my experience. The length of the soft loop is something you can experiment with and see what works best. I would say however that the longer it is the more likely it will be to tangle. On another note, I would use a longer soft part for stiffer booms so the rig works well even if the fish comes from the swivel end first. With 20lb IQ I think the soft loop can be fairly short. I tie mine with 20lb amnesia and 25lb ultra skin (inner braid) In terms of aligners and long shanks again this is preference and down to your results, see if its nailing them and if so then great. As a rule of thumb for D positioning, wafters and light baits should go opposite the point, the heavier the bait as far down the shank as you can go. Good luck mate
@@Kb11466 top guy for replying. Thanks so much. I'm always over thinking things like this, but I think that rig mechanics are so important. Thanks for taking the time to give me some advice. Best wishes
@@BiigTT main thing with rig mechanics is that it doesn't tangle and you have a sharp hook. Past that, most popular rigs will do the job. This rig ticks every box for me except that you can't easily use a pva mesh bag with it.
Hi got some 20lb mouthtrap chod filament. Would that do the job for the hooklink instead of the flourocarbon? Cheers Shaun
Could try it but the mouthtrap might be too stiff with the braid section .
Best Rig seen a few pros use it I laugh when they make out they did it it's a Mark Bryant rig
Same old news mark bryant uses the slip d rig... Seen it before on korda
This is a rig that I have been asked to demonstrate. I must get asked 2 or three times a week at Baitworks HQ. Im so glad your up to speed with this Chadders.
Don't get me wrong it's a great rig and with out a doubt it's caught you some amazing fish. 😎
Ive just tied some up Mark
Do you use rig foam when casting this rig?
No mate not needed, the 0.75mm tube on the hook keeps it all tightly in place :)
Legend
For god sake, please don’t anyone tell martins clarks about this video, you’ll never hear the end of it. 😀
lol!!
Can you fish this rig with mesh sticks
Yes mate you sure can, its very versatile!
Didn't know LIDL did bait screws....
Would hooking a pva bag on cause the loop to pull down on the cast?
Hi Scott, the loop needs quite a bit of force to pull down. I've hooked little bags on the size of a ten pence and that works fine mate.
Could you not just tie the bag to the loop to keep the loop under tension ? That would solve the worry of what size bag to use then ?
Yes, that would solve it.
@@levirees4852
Just tie your rig with the fluorocarbon and don’t use all that heat shrink on hook all these added bulky components just make your rig obvious to the carp and your hook heavier. All you need is 1 x swivel ( maybe 1 inch heat shrink over swivel end to help kick out from the lead) then tie on a standard hair rig knot to hook at the other end directly with Flouro. Much less conspicuous!! And hooks up better !!
Would a semi stiff braid be okay or just supple?
Both would be fine mate, I prefer a supple one.
lol, yet ANOTHER carp rig
Another reinvention of the multi/ stiff hinge.
Nice.
whats the overall rig length Mark?
Hi Don, I prefer the whole rig approx 8-10 inches mate.
👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
Multi rig then?
This is just a multi rig right? Or did I miss something?
It’s a multi rig
Hi could you help me please
Great rid slip d
German rig job done
German rig is totally awesome.....try the cvr rigga hooks from gardner....even more aggressive then.
It's an okay rig, though nothing like my 'ultimate' Rig.. which I've used exclusively for all my pop up fishing for 8 yrs now. I can't change the Hook on mine, but can fish it over any length weed, and it gives me one toners 9 times out of 10 with 1oz leads - which means it's fooling the fish. So probably there is no ultimate Rig... only ones we have total confidence in, which is what counts.
Dont rate it for a bottom bait rig any stiff rig is going to loop up with a stiff rig.
If a fish gets away with it your going to have a rig that not actually working .
I prefer german rig
Yavol me too
Nice korda advert mmmm
Exactly mate!
@@paullawrence8572 piss take isn't it when there making a rig and wasting half the material I suppose it's free to them
@@paullawrence8572 I remember carp fishing before korda was a name it was fox nash diawa and Shimano leading the race I won't lie I use korda tackle aswel as other gear too but these video's ram it down your throat makes it in watchable
@@thecarpfather5757 That's what half of them are about, shame really. Good luck with your fishing!
@@paullawrence8572 nice one mate I'm out Sunday on the weed lake hopefully my new camera comes today or it will be a mobile jobby for my channel
I can’t stop it tangling on a heli 🙈
Hi Kenny, what material are you using for the stiff section mate? doubling it up with a loop at the swivel end should kick it away from the lead and the stiff section needs to be a minimum of 20lb plus. Hope this helps fella.
The soft material on the loop section keeps tangling up around my leader on the casts. I’ve been using Korda boom section with a 30lb braid as my loop. Using a 15mm bait, maybe to much putty
Thats odd, one thing to try to stop this is make sure your bead above the rig isn't up to high, I see mine two inches above the lead this certainly helps with tangles. Also just pop a tiny little bag of crumb on the hook, just a boilies worth, this will help also. Best of luck and I hope that helps.
@@kearney102
@@kearney102 maybe it's your casting style stance make a difference how you lob it
Great looking rig, but boy virtually impossible to tie.... Honestly think if baitworks were to sell these rigs pre - tied they'd sell like hot cakes... One customer here already 🤔
Virtually impossible to tie? It’s literally a piece of piss. Easier than your shoelaces. Put some effort in, come in man 😅
So the ‘Ultimate carp rig’ lets you know when they’ve got away with it ? Erm... hang on .... they’ve just got away it so what rig would you change it too ? 😂😂😂
I would be shorting the hook link or making other fine adjustments. No rig is 100% effective Andy.
But mark, surely if a carp has been able to pull that d back down to the eye of the hook, then its hooked and you should be in.
Not watching, bound to be a variation on all the other rigs out there, there all the same, location location location that's all that matters!
oddball 1 they’re not all the same, but this is a variation of the multi-rig ...perhaps better, perhaps not...
oddball 1 nonsense, there’s s lot more than just location, yes it’s the most important aspect but not the only one.
More a variable of combi rig made explained in a excellent way.. Happydays..
You could easily get a false indication that you have been 'done' with these kind of rigs. If you reel in and your hook catches something on the way in, it will pull the hook. You would thing you have been done, but in reality you have not. So this is not effective.
Still has loads of other benefits Al, changing the hook, re-sets etc etc, of course if you catch weed on the why in it may pull down but we live with that for all the other benefits mate tbf. As for not effective, well it's done us well for over a decade so we won't be changing it anytime soon.
@@BaitworksTV sorry I didn't mean not an effective rig. Its no doubt a very good rig, just what I mean is that you wouldn't really know if you have been done or not. impossible to say if it was a fish or whether its caught something on the way in. No doubt a brilliant rig tho like you say the versatility being able to use it over any bottom with any bait is superb. To be fair you could probably tie one of your baitworks boilies on without a hook and still catch, they wouldn't want to let go. 👍
Jeder erfindet das rad neu 🤣🤣
Korda advert in disguise
Teacher of fishing, do not know how to catch fish.
Just another hair rig, nothing special at all
It aint just a rig have to disagree I was blanking put this rig on and I caught give it a try you might be surprised
