    I’ve just got into this business and decided to try it out on my brick weave driveway and flagstone path.
    My driveway has oil stains and couldn’t get them off so I’ll have to turn them over but I made a newbie error and blasted my flagstone path pulling out lumps of cement in between. 🤦🏻‍♂️
    This video has helped me a lot so every flagstone job I get I will now know what to do. 👍🏻

      Probably can't flip them as they usually aren't chamfered on the bottom, you may be lucky. Oil rarely comes out. Sounds like you went too close to the mortar or used to narrow a nozzle.

    Great job as always Phil, that looks very much like a sprayer I have, is it the Sherpa Delux battery powered one? A great little unit for laying down a mix when cleaning

  • @DavidBriggsAdventures
    @DavidBriggsAdventures 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I take a hybrid approach. I use a pre treat soft wash with a pleasant scent cover surfactant like cedar or cherry. I turn the machine down and surface clean if I can. Otherwise, I just use a stronger mix. I only mix to spec for each job with bleach stable soaps that prevent chlorine off gassing.

    What hose have you attached to the sherpa? Is that from the x jet? And what lance is that? Don't think it's lance that comes with the sherpa

    • @DirtyDriveAway
      @DirtyDriveAway  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I modify my pack to have removable hose and trigger. The sherpa in std form can't handle hypo so I fit a viton pump and chemical resistant trigger. It also means I can have longer lengths of hose.

    Hi Phil
    Your hypo seems to foam up a lot on first contact compared to mine, is that just due to the stronger mix ratio or something to do with the nozzle on the sprayer? Cheers

    • @DirtyDriveAway
      @DirtyDriveAway  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends what surfactant you use. You tend to get more foam on a sprayer that's pumped like a 12v battery one. However I do get decent foam using my doser and I get mega foam with the xjet. A hand pump sprayer doesn't tend to foam too much as they aren't overly powerful or have high flow rate.

    • @DirtyDriveAway

      Doesn't affect them at the dose used in softwashing. Only really effects them at much stronger doses. Giving the grass and plants a good watering before applying cam help stop them absorbing any chemical.

    • @DirtyDriveAway
      @DirtyDriveAway  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Izabela soft washing start at 3:1. Depending on how bad it is, you may need to up it. I prefer a light pressure wash first to remove surface dirt. Then a 3:1 chemical to lift the rest. The chemical is nasty stuff though, and pretty expensive now.

      It's a chemical called sodium hypochlorite (swimming pool chlorine) it's also known as soft washing. It basically dissolves the dirt without the need for high pressure. It should only really be done when the pointing is past it's best to reduce further damage.
