When have you ever been taken away on boats into captivity and sold as bond women & bond men? Never, you are a Heathen & your time has been fulfilled. "Black Americans, American Indians, colonized Latinos are the only people who fit this story of being exiled & taken into slavery & called Nigers? Your family has lied to you. My favorite person in the Bible is Sarah, wife of Abraham. They have no children and grow old. Suddenly God tells Abraham he and Sarah will have a son, a founder of nations, Issac. Sarah, hiding behind a tent, laughs out loud because God doesn’t understand menopause. God gets angry and bellows why is Sarah doubting he can perform any miracle? And Sarah, like a Jewish comedian comes back with, ‘Who laughed? I didn’t laugh!’ This cracks me up every time. ‘Issac,’ means “one who laughs,” in Hebrew.

    I've studied the Bible enough to question several details of this version of the story. (Enough to provide me with several reasons to study the biblical narrative even more closely.) But one detail jumped out at me. Moses wasn't a Jew. He was a Levite. And while some of the people who were delivered from Egypt at the time of the Exodus were Jews in sense of being the descendents of Judah (one of Abraham's grandchildren), the vast majority of those who left Egypt with Moses were not Jews.
    Some people, of course, will argue that this particular detail is not important. I think it is because it relates to the question of what it means to be Hebrew, what it means to be an Israelite and what it means to be a Jew (or Jewish).

    • @MehWhatever99
      @MehWhatever99 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The word Jew is derived from Judah, true. That is because most Jews today are descendants of Judah. But the Nation (Children) of Israel were descended from Jacob’s 12 sons. Levi was one of the other sons. Therefore Levites were also a part of the Nation of Israel.
      The word Jew is a relatively modern one. Not all Jews today are from the tribe of Judah. There are still many Levites. Cohanim (hereditary priests) are also from the tribe of Levi, since they are descended from Aaron, Moses’s older brother. There are also a smattering of other tribes, but most don’t really know their tribal identity now. Levites and Cohanim remember because they have commandments specific to them, and the identity has been passed down.

    • @MehWhatever99
      @MehWhatever99 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Another way to say Israelite is Children of Israel or Nation of Israel. In scripture they are referred to Bene Israel (Sons of Israel), or as Am Israel (People of Israel). Jew is just a newer way of saying the same thing.

      @@rogermetzger7335 Esther probably lived 4 or 5 centuries after the Exodus. But it would have been After the other 10 tribes were lost. So it would make sense that she was identified as a Yehudi (Jew being an English translation of that).

      The Israelites that inhabited the independent kingdom of Judah, which held sovereignty over the territories of the tribes Judah & Benjamin, were held captive in Babylon following the second siege of Jerusalem by the Babylonians in 586 BC. Following the conquest of Babylon by Cyrus II of Persia in 538 BC, Cyrus II decreed that the Israelites in Babylon could return to Judah and rebuild the Temple to YHWH in Jerusalem.
      Those Israelites who resettled in Judah were (mistakenly) believed to be solely descended from the tribe of Judah, whence they came to be called Judaeans and their religion Judaism.

      It’s where judasim came from. The Egyptians had the oldest belief system in the world and Hebrew comes from Phoenician which originated in Egypt in mt sianai. Jewish narratives come from ancient kemetic narratives such as the versions of Ra and the casting out of the serpent apophis, which parallels the biblical origin story of earth directly and predates it by 1000 years.

    Are there different, or additional versions of the stories of Exodus, or any other biblical tales in Hebrew folklores, that is not included in the bible itself? In the movie Munich, I heard Mossad agents talking with each other about the story of crossing the Red Sea, and it contained some backstories that I never read in the book of Exodus: a dialogue between God and the angels about the Egyptians that were swept away by the current. So I thought, does traditional Jewish Talmud have their own version of the tales? (As a Christian, I can't go deep into them, but just curious.)

    • @Nderitu.G

      they have their books called the Talmud where the Rabbis tended to exaggerate stories but some of them were very real, you would never know how some prophets in the OT died but these events are recorded in the talmud, How ezekiel or even Zechariah who was murdered at the altar

      the hebrew bible tells the importent parts of the stories, the talmud and other books give explanation and tell the untold parts of the stories.

      @jedimmj11 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      There are not alternative versions, but there are lots of "deleted scenes" so to speak, and some of these have a significant impact on the framing of the Biblical text. For example, my understanding is that Christians view Jacob as being a trickster and Esau as a victim, however the "deleted scenes" in the Jewish tradition paint Esau as a violent and dangerous man who would wreak destruction if empowered by his father's blessing so he needed to be thwarted.

      Then there's the oral torah - the rules and guidelines and explanations that passed from moses onward, from mouth to ear, and from the traditions of Israel from the beginning of time.
      The oral torah is mainly put on paper in the mishna (the word משנה, שינון or to memorize, only allowed to put on paper from 300 bc), but also in the talmud and other Jewish sources.
      Then theres the midrash, which is the director cut of the tanach.
      And basically every Jewish scriptures and rabbinical books contain more info.
      The tanach is only a small part in Jewish library.
      You also have many books and songs and scrolls that haven't survived to this day but are recorded in the tanach.
      Jewish library is hugh and you should definitely check it out, as the tanach (belive it or not) is the shortend version of the Jewish story.
      Add to that the countless traditions, folklore, and tales, there is alot of information about exodus and the rest of Jewish history.

      All on this earth knows theres a power dominate this life and everything, some call it god as believers and some say it's the nature as atheists ,so it's one of those the much you study and think you will have the answer and if you choose God you will have one of religions after you study them and comapre their books not people ,but saying theres no God is a big claim cuz none said it except little time of this life and yee there's no logical evidence even it's only gusses and gusses not reaching the truth level so how by guesses human can risk his life, وَمَا يَتَّبِعُ أَكْثَرُهُمْ إِلَّا ظَنًّا ۚ إِنَّ) الظَّنَّ لَا يُغْنِي مِنَ الْحَقِّ شَيْئًا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ بِمَا يَفْعَلُونَ)
      And most of them follow not except assumption. Indeed, assumption avails not against the truth at all. Indeed, Allah is Knowing of what they do(yunus: 36).
      And that's all cuz they want to enjoy this life before die also they so sure of their gusses like they see what happend to dead and that's will be The right of certainty when you became dead you will know so wait and see of what's true to believe, they cant see the grade untill they give the answer and their work and deeds to the one who made this test so its theres no evidence that nature is the thing responsible they don't want to think and be responsible about their grades and have fun rather than answering and study they guess wrong for what they think ,but in believers books there a reward and punishment so consider this is a lie cuz its time didnt come yet and they cant see it in this test that dosent mean their gussesing is right, human dont have knowledge of all thing so no need to be arrogant rather than that must be caution cuz there's punishment in books of believers its high risk to be athiest and follow your desires they depend on guesses they despair of the God to help them but help not coming except for the one wait for it on perfect time God will he test us and another saying athiest on theirs gusses have problem with god cuz they didnt wait so they try their best to delete god from their life as human hate someone and pretend he's not their if you go and see prophets and messengers and the righteous people you would see how much they wait and be patient on misery of life and as god said the holy quran

      True, but there are some details to understand. Most of what we know about the Egyptians come from their tombs, palaces and temples. The Egyptians were not like the Assyrians. They did not tell of their defeats in these places. The temples were designed to honor the gods and the tombs and palaces were meant to honor the kings.
      Where the Egyptians did their day to day accountings was on papyrus, that historians call Egyptian Day books. The problem is that Papyrus only lasts around 100 years unless its well protected and dry. We have very few Egyptian Day Books. For instance, the late date theory for the Exodus puts it during the reign of Rameses II. This king was one of the longest ruling kings of Egypt, reigning 65 years. We have absolutely ZERO day books from the time of Rameses II's reign, but this is where we would expect to find the administrative aftermath of losing an force of chariots and horseman.

      False, you don't understand that the Egyptians write of only conquests and winnings. They don't write, we were week and overtaken by others. There is a lot of evidence for the Hebrews being in Egypt.

    The story of the Exodus occurred in history however all of the details were deliberately reversed in the Holy Bible, in one of the first religious propaganda spin stories, in order to make the monotheists look like the victims and the Egyptians look like the aggressors.
    In reality, it was the monotheists who were the aggressors and the Egyptians were the victims.
    In the 13th dynasty of Egypt people known by modern historians as the Hyksos, AKA the “shepherd kings” or "Israelite pharaohs", conquered northern Egypt taking control of its throne for their own purposes.
    This foreign occupation lasted for about 300 years until a pharaoh descended of those original conquerors named Amenhetep the 4th tried to force monotheism on the Egyptian population; taking as his new name, one of several aliases, Akhenaten.
    For the native Egyptians, who had suffered the machinations of their foreign rulers, this was the last straw. Five Egyptian generals funded by the southern treasury of Egypt launched a military coup and exiled Amenhetep along with his Levitical priesthood.
    It was after his expulsion that, realizing he couldn’t work openly anymore, Amenhetep took his last alias - “Moses”; a name truncation derived from one of his relatives named Thutmoses.
    From that point, the propaganda of the Holy Bible was written.

    🙏 Jewish people have such sad & testing history of their early existence ... Jewish people appeared earlier than Christianity & Islam ... So Palestine early inhabitants must consisted of Jews & other Arabs with their various early religions & believes like the worshipping of the Sun God Ra or Amun! The Dates of Happenings would tell us about the true inhabitants of that region ... 🕯🌍🕊
