Well done the film crew and the great narration, but massive thanks for the crew and boats who work amazing days and nights at sea, could never amongst millions of others do that kind of work.. RESPECT... love the whole series...well done all!!
So Phil needs new crew. Gets a couple of new guys to come along. Offers them zero training but expects them, somehow, to perform whilst he is screaming and shouting at them?????? Wonder if the new guys are still with him today? Very much doubt it. Pure genius Phil. Way to go! 💥
Ash gas everything going for him I spent 24 years as a combat medic been there saw that read the book then went tosea as a HSE officer medic OMG i should have joined the Navy what a fantastic 20 years on the seas around the world twice saw things at sea you only see at sea
I worked on a prawn trawler 48 years ago off the coast of Qld Australia ,, the pay rates were different , a novice Deckie was on 10% experienced Deckie was on 15% and this was off the top not after costs ,,
Things have changed safety wise but you can't predict everything I worked on a tourist charter and although nothing too serious ever happened a few times weather turned bad outta knowhere and people got a bit knocked up but this is in a different league busy point is you can predict nout at sea now and 200 years ago not much difference.
You lads. fair play to you. dangerous job rough seas without people like yourself we wouldn't have fish on our plates at all 👍👍👍👍you deserve every penny
What a classic deception this programme is. Having been a fisherman all my working life I am not detracting from the hard work or hardships suffered by the crews but the perception that they personally stand to lose anything (apart from wages) all these Ladram boats and the gear they use belongs to a massive company called Greendales who own garden centres Ladram bay holiday centre transport bussiness etc so the pretence that the skipper stands to lose anything gear or boatwise is a myth.
Not a myth when yr a part owner of the boat. Running costs aren't absorbed by the larger company. The nets in the water are worth more than the boat cost, so there is a lot of financial pressure.
