  • Andrew Snelling continues discussing radioisotope dating, including whether excess heat would be a problem for accelerated decay rates. He then examines radiocarbon dating and determines whether carbon-14 has been found in dinosaur bones, coal and diamonds.
𝘐𝘴 𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘴 𝘏𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺? is a documentary that features over a dozen scientists and scholars explaining how the world intersects with the history recorded in Genesis. From rock layers to fossils, from lions to stars, from the Bible to artifacts, this fascinating film will change the way you see the world. The film’s goal is to provide a reasonable case for Creation in six normal days, a real Adam and Eve, an actual fall, a global flood, and a tower of Babel. Dr. Del Tackett, creator of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘳𝘶𝘵𝘩 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵, serves as your guide-hiking through canyons, climbing up mountains, and diving below the sea-in an exploration of two competing views…one compelling truth.

    • Is Genesis History? - ...
This segment is taken from 𝘉𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘐𝘴 𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘴 𝘏𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺?, which explores rocks and fossils, intelligent design, astronomy, and so much more! These fascinating segments are approximately 20 minutes each and include an incredible depth of material not included in the film. They are perfect for families, churches, schools, and homeschools wanting to learn how Genesis explains the world around us.

Dr. Snelling completed a BS in applied geology at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, graduating with first-class honors in 1975. His PhD in geology was awarded in 1982 by The University of Sydney for his research thesis titled “A Geochemical Study of the Koongarra Uranium Deposit, Northern Territory, Australia.” Dr. Snelling worked for six years in the exploration and mining industries in Tasmania, New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, and the Northern Territory, variously as a field, mine, and research geologist. For over ten years, Dr. Snelling was a research consultant to the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organization for an international collaborative research project funded by the U.S. Department of Energy which involved university and government research scientists from the USA, UK, Australia, Japan, Korea, Sweden, Austria and Belgium.

I agree. The issue is most scientists get money to fund their research. Most those donors want proof of evolution. Plus if your findings go against evolution your not allowed to publish in any "science" journal

At Yellowstone National Park - specimen ridge - geologists had a sign that the ridge was millions of years old with multiple forests being petrified over ages. Then Mount Saint Helens blew up - and one forest was buried in mud flows - through multiple layers. It only took a few hours to reproduce what university geologists said took millions of years. I don't put any value on their dates.

Near time 10:25 Snelling says that "after 90,000 years there should be no radiocarbon left in dinosaur bones." Radiocarbon will still be present after 90,000 years. About one part in 53,000 of the original radiocarbon will remain. The calculation is 90,000 years divided by 5,700 years (the half-life of radiocarbon). This gives 15.7 half lives. Then, take 2 to the 15.7th power to get an answer of approximately 53,000 which is the fraction of initial radiocarbon that will remain -- one part in about 53,000.

I'm an atheist, and I like your videos. Everything must be questioned. The modern public's unquestioning acceptance of the dictates of 'scientific authority,' as revealed truth, has definitely become a faith-based religion. That doesn't mean your religion is true. But it does mean we shouldn't have faith in 'science,' if we're claiming not to be motivated by faith.
Science is so faulty, so corrupted these days, so enmeshed with politics and money, and yet still so ardently believed. The scientists occupy exactly the position of the medieval Catholic clergy: that of the possessors of unquestionable truth, to be received and accepted on their authority.
If you ask for evidence, you're considered a 'conspiracy theorist,' a term that is used to means roughly 'heathen' or 'blasphemer,' for doubting their revelations.

Good comment. Your approach makes me wonder if you are truly an atheist, or a sincere agnostic. Wouldn't you have to have conclusive proof that God doesn't (or can't) exist to be a atheist? Doesn't atheism require a faith step of its own? This is truly not meant to be a slam of you in any way - just questioning...
(For the record, I am a Christian, but not opposed to rigorous scientific method - just opposed to dogmatic science... and dogmatic religion that requires faith without reasoning.)

Tom King, of course I do not believe in the Big Bang and a billions and billions of years old universe. The universe is indeed 6000 years old. BUT the scriptures say nothing about the age of the EARTH. In genesis account, clearly, the earth pre-existed the creation of universe.
So we cannot tell exactly how old is the earth. And since the radiometric methods of age measure is not reliable, we are at a dead end on the matter.

Plus he clearly is totally misrepresenting science when he discusses carbon 14 and his claims over its depletion.

Coal and petroleum contain no radioactive carbon C¹⁴ because there was no decay of N¹⁴ before the flood due to high amounts of protective water vapour in the stratosphere. This may also explain a too early dating for very ancient civilisations (like Karahan and Göbleki Tepe). The amount of C¹⁴ had to slowly build up first...

I admired my professor as l completed an essay entitled Creation vs. Evolution. He read it with an open mind and gave me a very fair grade. My concluding sentence stated that it takes more faith to believe in evolution than in creation...it is worthy to note that since that time, there has been much more creation evidence produced supporting creationism and a young earth...great video here...

Very interesting and compelling evidence. Even if secular scientists don’t believe in God, they should still be willing to accept the Creation Timeline when scientific evidence supports it.

....Finally some intelligent discussions on these topics....How many church pastors does the world have ??...vs....How many Christian scientists, looking at things without agnostic spectacles do we have ??...I say the ratio is lop- sided and we have needed Christian scientists immensely. I ran a Hewlett Packard gas chromatograph machine in college. I could easily see how data could be manipulated to serve an agenda...Take the agendas out, and you get truth....

I love the excuses "machine error" ,"contamination". They won't ever accept it. I wonder why evolutionist claim not to believe in miracles but use them more than any belief system on earth to explain the way they think. Ridiculous. But nothing is impossible for God. So I pray for them.

If it actually is "machine error" then how can they trust any data the machine produces. Throw it all out, its unreliable.

This is all conjecture. I believe in slow creation.
    Well, maybe not...
    Questions...
    1. How much radio carbon is there in dinosaur fossils?
    2. How much radio carbon is there in woolly mammoth bones found frozen in the tundra that are not fossilized but still have meat on their bones?
I'm curious as to what this difference would show...

Appreciate the content. So many variables for radioactive decay. Anyone who thinks dating of anything is reliable by radioactivity alone should reconsider that assertion.

    • @IsGenesisHistory
      @IsGenesisHistory  ปีที่แล้ว

Glad you enjoyed the video, @donkloos9078! The accelerated decay Dr. Snelling is talking about here is in reference to the decay of radioisotopes. You can see further discussion on this in the following video on our TH-cam channel: th-cam.com/video/fe75Gnv28sU/w-d-xo.html

Accelerated decay means decay that was accelerated -- speeded up. It means decays rates would have been much faster in the past than they are today.

Carbon14 is a reliable time-measurement method for creatures that have lived during X time. After a too long decay time the Carbon14 signal will "drown" in the background (radioactive) noise that is everywhere (signal to noise ratio). That is logical, regarding the test method and the half-value of decay time for Carbon 14 (half time is 5730 years). So when samples of (more than) 50000 years ago are tested on C14 decay they all show "the same time" That tells nothing about their age. Sorry, not a scientific approach here regarding this subject (decay C 14). 5 feb. 2021.

  • @jimangmay

So the question of heat was brought up that should have happened during accelerated decay. The answer was that since the radio halos are still there/visible, there must not have been a lot of heat produced. Do we know how it is possible to have a lot of accelerated decay without heat? Couldn't it also be evidence that this accelerated decay then did not happen? I'm a creationist myself, but I'm just trying to figure out how this data is interpreted.

The other problem with Dating methodology they use for something that old is the same as saying how long a candle has been burning. You have to first know how long the candle was before it was set on fire. Was it 6 feet or 6 inches long? You don’t know so they just say millions and billions to ease their minds.

my question is were these samples tested at diff labs with diff equipment. cuz if they were all tested on the same equipment, then the lab could have been contaminated or the equipment contaminated. if they r all yielding the same then I would want diff labs testing so I would know it wasnt juat contamination.
