- Radetzky March, Op. 228, is a march composed by Johann Strauss Sr. and dedicated to Field Marshal Joseph Radetzky von Radetz. First performed on 31 August 1848 in Vienna, it soon became quite popular among regimented marching soldiers. It has been remarked that its tone is more celebratory than martial; Strauss was commissioned to write the piece to commemorate Radetzky's victory at the Battle of Custoza.

Fun fact: This "Chinese version" of Radetzky march is actually being played by a Chinese orchestra in the Wiener Musikviernen. The Chinese orchestra was the China Central Chinese Orchestra (中国中央民族乐团), an "orchestra" entirely made up of Chinese traditional instruments. The existence of such an orchestra itself is already an innovation to behold, considering that traditional folk music is usually played solo or by a small group of musicians. Then in 2007, the Orchestra was invited to Vienna to perform several pieces of Chinese folk music. The Chinese version of Radetzky march was played at the end of the show, following Vienna's tradition of ending concerts with Radetzky March. This is a truly interesting and innovative cultural cross-over.

By the way, if you want to experience an extraordinary rather than a marvellous Chinese Radetzky March, then I would strongly recommend that you should take your headphones with you and ‘enjoy’ the version played by a student orchestra from Wuhan. （~~我一般称后者为「拉得刺激进行曲」~~）
ha, great job! I just want to add some details. The video of this performance is available on TH-cam, and it is pretty interesting to see how people react when this march been played after some other Chinese traditional compositions. It takes few seconds for people to switch from confused to laughing. It’s long time ago and china at that time is quite different from now. Unlike their peers in many countries, all the orchestra members been payed little money for their work in China and also this performance in Vienna, even the name of this orchestra indicates that they are the best among the country. In another words, it is not driven by commercial interest. On the contrary, there is a pride comes from nationalism, which I believe is the main motivation for the orchestra members and also political need which is Chinese government wants to showing China to the world in a friendly way.(note that this orchestra as well as many others are sponsored and controlled by government, which is quite reasonable if think about the history of communism in east Europe. Chinese economic at that time was weak and its development highly relied on foreign investment, which is why Chinese government wants a better relationship with the East.) Also , interestingly, the conductor actually study the western music and conducted western music in most of his career, which could be a reason why the Chinese traditional instruments organized in western style, so as the way he conducted. I know from some on line resources that the audiences may shocked by the fact that Chinese traditional instruments has such a wide rang and also the techniques and skills that necessary for complexed compositions. Why 'LOL'? He was already chief of the staff who planned the 'battle of nations' near Leipzig in 1914 where Napoleon was defeated by the coalition.
Right Marshal Ladeciji (拉德茨基) was elevated into Marshalcy by Emperor Daoguang and served until the reign of Emperor Xianfeng. He was victorious in his engagements in the two Opium Wars despite the Qing Empire having lost the campaign and later led the Green Banner Imperial Army against the Taiping rebellion forces. This march was composed in his honor by the great musician Yuehan Shitelao (约翰施特劳) 🐉🐉🐉 [Happy Chinese New Year to the Good Doctor & Crew]

Selbst wenn, lass dir nicht einreden, dass rechts das gleiche wie rechtsextrem ist.
