I completely agree with you on the new veterancy. I feel like needing to see your progress with a level bar is good but when it comes to level locking certain roles and ranks, I think that’s unnecessary. Usually in all the public matches i play low-level players usually don’t pick officer , but those are only my matches. I think this update is bad for regimental gameplay, in my regiment, we have a brigadier general that uses the captain rank for the officer. And we have set up uniforms for each rank inside of each role but now they have to level up to like rank 50 to unlock captain in the officer role.
Hey, I totally get where you're coming from about the new veterancy update. While the level bar is a nice touch to track progress, I agree that level locking certain roles and ranks might not be the best approach. It's interesting to hear that low-level players generally avoid the officer role in your public matches. The impact on regimental gameplay, like the situation with your brigadier general, is definitely something to consider. Hopefully, the developers will take this feedback into account and find a way to improve the system for everyone! I hopt they tweak this system because I feel like it will hurt those players who have had the game longer but lack the hours to put into the game because of personal stuff
I went in for a few public matches a couple of days ago after being away from it for about a year. I had a blast. I knew of some of the updates but not abput the veterancy system. I can see where it would be okay to some players and a bite in the ass to others. Players new to the game & genre should be fine with it however the older milsim veterans that run commander or SL roles every night but are new to WoR would probably be put off. I enjoyed it the old way or new way. Its good for me.
I totally understand your perspective on the new veterancy system. It's definitely a bold idea, but there's a risk of it being unfair to long-time players who can't put in as many hours now. It's great to hear that you had a blast playing the game after a year away! I agree that the system might work well for some new players, but could be frustrating for milsim veterans who are new to WoR and used to taking on leadership roles. Ultimately, it's important to find a balance that works for everyone. It's awesome that you're enjoying the game both ways though!
Is there a way after the time window to redeem your points if you didn’t during the window, because if not, I’m done with this game because I have 400 hours in the game and took a break when they made this update and was unaware there was a time window to redeem the points.
leveling isnt going to alienate new players, its going to incentivize playing the game more to work towards a goal. let the nerds cry, if you were good enough before the update to be an officer you shouldnt have to worry about anything.
Hey thanks for watching the video. You make a fair point. Overall I’m not against these new changes. I’m just uneasy about how it’s implemented. I’m worried that people who have been playing for a long time will know longer have access to the class as they want to play. I’m sure things will work out though campefire knows what they are doing
How can you be a officer if you dont know the map , you need experience to learn the map and how to play . Yes i am the leader of tactics in warthunder and World of tanks clan battles . I have no idea of how to lead in this game
What about the players that have 1500 to 2000 hrs in this game already, they should be some compensated for that. How about dropping a few new uniforms in each new update? Say like the 11th Mississippi for instance.
Not gonna lie. it makes me kinda pissed that I have to now earn my colonal rank. It's the rank I always play. I play an officer almost every time I get the chance and have a good amount of experience with the class. They even locked the lemat behind the colonal and Lt. Colonal rank. But that's understandable because that revolver is op. Kinda wish they would reward those who already put in the time with the ranks. I know a few people who associate their rank with their regiments, too. This sucks. I like the idea of it, but it's poorly executed by not rewarding us who already put in a lot of time in the game.
I totally understand your frustration. It's definitely a bummer for long-time players like yourself who have already put in the time and effort to have their favorite ranks and roles locked behind this new system. It's a valid concern that it might harm the experience of dedicated players. Hopefully, the developers will take this feedback into account and make some tweaks to find a better balance that rewards both new and experienced players.
@MoronMilitia I sure hope they do something about it. I work 12 hour shifts, so I don't have a lot of free time to grind to my rank quickly. I try to play when I have the free time. But it's definitely gonna take me a while, considering I was a colonal.
@@supermadtiger5263 I definitely think they will. I think we’re not the only ones with this problem and they’ll definitely take that into consideration. They currently have the 30 day grace. Period. But I don’t think that’s enough. Quite frankly. I think they’re gonna get a lot of blowback on some of these updates and maybe make some changes I hope so.
@MoronMilitia one thing I'm curious about is if the ranks are locked by the base level system or if you have to play that specific class to earn xp for it to get the higher ranks. They don't really clarify it very well in the patch notes if there is only one level system or two? If it's separate, then it will make it even harder for me to get my rank back if I can't get ahold of my class during some games. Because sometimes people beat me to the class.
@@supermadtiger5263 I think it’s the base level. I would think their goal is to stop random people who don’t know what they are doing from taking the officer and NCO roles. Now for the ranks like LT or Major I’m not sure if you have to play the officer class to unlock those
Worst part is that it was fine right at the beginning, in early testing, then they 'fixed it' and its been crap ever since. Years later, its still crap.
so spent 850hrs game time, didn't have time much for games left for a year, came back to the game and I start at 0 - cant use the roles to pass on experience, did send email but fat chance anything will change, will delete game again if no change, 50 players at max on EU time zone unless you stay up till 2am, hhhmmm
Same boat. My group was hosting BIG events for a couple years and I have 725.1 hours in game. My sister unit formed a battery section and I eventually became the Captain and leader of it and now I have to earn back the right to use cannons let alone be a Captain all because I didn’t obsessively keep tabs on the updates. Left about the time they were showcasing horses so I had no idea. Beyond frustrated is what comes to mind because we have anniversary games every year and now none of us can play our old ranks. Even my friends who have 1000+ hrs in. It’s fucked.

As a new player, I’m glad I’m going to be able to rank up along side the veterans
Looking forward to seeing you on the battlefield

For any new players concerned about this system don’t as is super easy to reach rank 4, only takes a few games to reach every role in the game

They just released a update today concerning this everyone who has played before will get 1600 XP for every hour played
@@moronmilitia I just logged in after being away for years and I got nothing (I am a legacy player that payed $80 way back) Do I have to ask them ?
I have to say experience made me come back and never play it more then befor . Since there is something to reach fore
It's so sad for me that I can't play on a console 😞
Maybe one day but as of now I don’t think it’s planned

I’m shocked they still haven’t fixed the melee system.

Stupid update.
I think it is a decent idea gone the wrong way about it.
