Churches are from hell that's why
I'm an ardent atheist but I still hate to see churches in this state.
For me, they are an example of human creativity, community and teamwork in getting them built and they look fantastic.
In 1991 I served six weeks at a still active church, but saw many church structures in various states of decay. A few had parts that were used for other activities for children and youth. I will watch every episode of this series with great interest. Thank you.
There is so many decaying ones in modern England! We’ll only be scratching the surface sadly - thank you more to come

I'm an atheist but was raised Christian. I like churches. They are beautiful historical structures that should be preserved.
Quite a few are now mosques.
It is alot more sense to be agnostic than atheist

Ahhh RT, everyone's favourite Kremlin sock puppet. The problem with many old churches is that they are a PITA to maintain and very difficult to alter e.g. remove the pews, as often they are listed buildings. I used to attend a CofE place that was a grade 1 listed building but thankfully due to an oversight in the listing it didn't cover the interior so much which let the congregation rip out the pews and put in a mezzanine floor. But even then the listing was light a straightjacket, the congregation was growing, but the building couldn't adapt to the needs of that congregation.

I found it to be confusing that the lower stain glass was protected and yet the building itself is in decay. Churches were beautiful back in the day. Very enjoyable explore and narration.

This is a shame. I'm a catholic and although a not very good one I do believe and hate seeing churches become this way. I know we are a majority non Christian country now in terms of people who don't believe but what a beautiful building. If ever you come down south to Canterbury there are two department stores wanting an explore the former Debenhams that closed in January 2020 and has had no work done to it and the former Nasons closed September 2018 in the high street. The Debenhams is three separate buildings and grade 2 and grade 1 star for the main building which was a theatre at one point. Best of luck for 2024 and be careful. Don't upset any security guards.
I used to go to this church frequently with my school class. That is so sad....
That is so sad, not even any security to protect the building. There is a group called "Friends of Friendless Churches" maybe you could ask them why this church has not been rescued. Of course not it will take a fortune to do something with it. There is so much that can be done with these old buildings.
This church is on the protected list, but they don’t really have the funds to spend money on it’s upkeep sadly :(

how painful is this to see, oneside chirstians are working hard to find worship places and build more prayers halls and other side such places have no honor anymore for His work.

The music is a bit much.
That building is just at the end of my street. In its day it would have been built to great expense for the tax payer. Now it is been plundered by thieves and wrecked by vandals. The Police in the area are obviously not bothered as other derelict buildings suffer the same. All it would take to protect it would be a few small hidden cameras these days for the Police to apprehend those involved. Unfortunately these building are sold off for next to nothing. I think I saw this one on the market the other year priced for £95,000 even though to build one the same today would cost in the region of 100 million. It’s terrible to see such a building go to waste as the church in this area used to be the life and sole of the towns population at one time.

watching these abandoned churches and cathederal videos always makes me question the history were told and the obvious conclusion that we did not build these mind blowing structures. are we meant to believe in 1860 in a time of primitive tools and labouring skills,a time where lifting equipment such as hydraulic cranes high enough to lift the giant structures were not even invented,and the transport needed to quarry and fabricate the stonework was horse and cart? how were the stone blocks even transported from around the country without the use of hgv trucks, huge mining equipment and huge lifting equipment to lift the stone blocks and huge pillers of marble etc, and the amount of cement,sand,water etc needed for the construction at the site would be a massive project using our modern day technologies and advancenents. i dont think that we could build these buildings in this day and age ,the whole narrative is completely ridiculous when you think about it and we are lied to about our past and what these structures were.the only thing we have done is put cheap wooden benches and filled them full of out of place furnishings and used them for religeous purposes ,there true origins and construction will never be known.

1. Which people call Jesus, 'Lord', 'Lord'?
=Christians.
2. Which people say,
''We are no longer abide by The Law''?
Who practice Law-lessness??
= Christians.
3. Which people do great works in the name of Jesus?
= Christians.
4. Which people hear the teachings Jesus
but disobey him? [and follow Paul]?
= Christians.
5. Why Jesus will say, ''I never knew you''???
= Bcoz you claim to follow Jesus,
But your beliefs & actions are totally opposite
from the real teachings of Jesus.

''We must act according to the Will of GOD''?
= Muslims.
[Muslim = One who submit himself to GOD]
6. Which people listen the teachings of Jesus and follow them?
= Muslims.
So think yourself which group you should be in.
And,
From Islamic source,
Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) said,
in the 2nd coming,
Jesus will Break the Cross himself.
Then he will kill the swines.
And dissolve Christinity.
Not a single person will be christian anymore.
all will become Muslims.
And then under the command of Jesus Christ,
Muslims will fight the Great War against
the Anti-Christ and Gog & Magog.
Seeing Jesus the anti-christ will melt like
salt melt in water.
Jesus will Rule the whole world.
and will fill the world with Peace & Justice.
Though it was full of injustice.
After that Jesus will marry,
Have children,
Live a normal life & die.
Then he will be buried at the right side
of the grave of prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
A special place for Jesus is kept empty for 1500 yrs,
just beside the right side of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh).
Then after all these happened,
The Hour ,
The Day of Judgement will be established.
