I just used your video to replace my nieces screen on her A2179 2020 model. The wifi antenna plate only have 1 screw that year. I couldn't get the one wifi connector to go back properly so I hope the plate holds it or I have to buy a new one of those too. I used .8 pentalobe and t2, 3 and 4 torx. You video was very clear and well done. You saved us at least $300. Screen all in in April 2021 was $450 because I wanted the proper model. Thanks for this.
Two of the three brackets on the ribbon cable connecting the LCD to the motherboard do not actually need to be removed. You can leave those on while disassembling as well as the shields that cover them. The only one that needs to be removed. Is the main connector connecting it to the motherboard
Hello, thanks alot for this video. If we experience screen flickering and lines without any physical breaks / tears / cracks on the screen, is it worth following your video to check everything is properly connected - without ordering a new screen? Thank you!
@@UbergeeksBiz Awesome. Could not find used screens on Ebay, and would rather not use Amazon for ethical reasons. Is there another seller you recommend for refurbished electronic parts? Also, have practiced your tutorial (without getting the screen) and it is super clear even for a first-time repairer. Thank you so much!!
Great video! I lost a screw that goes to one of the small brackets. It’s one of the really short/small screws. I followed the steps exactly but the screen still won’t appear. The laptop does turn on. Do you know what size the screws are and do you think this really has to do with the screen not showing? I’m pretty sure I’ve ordered the correct screen. The serial number is FVFYJ111JK7C. Initially I ordered the wrong year by mistake. 2019. I ordered what I think is the correct year. 2018.
Hey i followed ur instructions did as u said so when i turn my laptop the apple logo appears and then disappear again and wont start any idea what might be the problem
Very helpful. After I changed screen, my macbook air a1932 cannot find any bluetooth device. Not sure what I missed. The two wifi cables are both for wifi, or one is for wifi, the other one is for bluetooth? I am wondering if I did not connect bluetooth cable well. Thanks.
How hard was it for you to remove the 6 larger silver hinge screws? I cannot get them out. They seem very tight compared to any other Apple screw. Thanks
If your replacement screen comes with the little brackets shown at @3:29 and @4:26 then no need to remove those or the flex cables underneath. 4 less tiny screws to remove = less anxiety screwing up :).
Thank you for the walk through. You should really warn people about how small these screws are and mention which bits you are using as you take things apart. These screws, if you use the wrong bit, are very easy to strip. I'm finished but won't ever do this again
Just out of interest what size screwdriver do you use for the hinge screws, I have one here i broke the handle but there is no letter or writing on it so dont know the size of it to buy in?
Thank you very much. Your video just saved me $950.00. I paid 200$ for the replacement screen and 20$ to buy the tool kit. My wife is happy now.

Not hard at all. You need the right torx screwdriver.
