Lovely to see Old Felixstowe - a favourite place of mine. Wonderful atmospheric shots! When I was young (here we go!) every winter seemed to be like this - in 1963 it went on for ever!
Lived in Felixstowe all my life, which is 15 years in 5 days tomorrow, and man has this town made me happpy at times, its just beautiful seeing this, especially sunsets
@@WalkWithMeTim 2 years on, the Marlborough hotel isn't getting any work as far as I know, it was having asbestos removal but I don't know what's happening now. But we have a new play area type place, a "beach village" and a 30 foot Ferris wheel
Thank you so much for doing these videos, they bring back some of the happiest memories, whether it's the ones recorded in Cromer and the surrounding areas where I holidayed throughout my childhood, or the Felixstowe ones where I've been holidaying every year for 10 years now, I really love it there and it's great to see it in the snow, thank you! We came across Old Felixstowe by accident when out on a drive round the area the 1st time we went there and enjoy a couple of meals at the Old Ferry Cafe during each stay, so I was really pleased to see that in this video. Hearing the port sounds in the background takes me straight back there to the hours I've spent sat on top of the huge mounds in the Landguard Nature Reserve with my dogs just watching life go on around me, including watching the port at work. Fortunately we still got to go there in between lockdowns last September and booked for this September before leaving, so no matter how busy UK based holidays get when life opens up again I have my stay booked ready to take time out from the hecticness that is life!
Yet again another Wonderfull piece of filming, you are so good to us, much appreciated, I did like the ice fountain, You are the Fred Dibnahs of the Walks wherever you take us. And just like Fred you make everything so interesting. Please keep them coming.
The Crazy House is a place I would of loved as a kid, I loved Ball Pits! Absolutely stunning video that's the first time I've actually seen a Seafront in the Snow. Incredible! And the Water Fountain with Icicles on it looked very pretty in the Sunshine. You make every thing beautiful Tim showing so many wonderful sights. Delightful.
I love Felixstowe beautiful views I love going down to langaurd point and sitting on the benches just watching the world go bye beautiful video how did you not slip 😂
Just came to this over a year late! I should have watched it during the heatwave as it might have made me feel cooler. Great to see Felixstowe in the snow.
I used to go to Felixstowe a lot as a kid as my auntie and uncle live in Ipswich so we’d come up from Kent at least once a month. I had forgotten how good it was! Might have to take my kids there next year as haven’t been for about 25years!!
BEST FISH AND CHIPS AT THE REGAL FISH AND CHIPS BAR THEY FRY WITH THE OLD FASHIONED WAY WITH BEEF DRIPPING. THANKS TIM GREAT VIDEO OF FELIXSTOWE. CHEERS
Hi Tim very pretty vlog really enjoyed walking around Felixstowe. I have never been looks like you could have a nice day out there in the summer. Thanks for sharing with us love Tracey xx
Had i known you were coming to our great town of Felixstowe i could have taken you on a small tour, like where Mrs Simpson and Edward V111 stayed during his abdication, Where sir John Mills lived and many many more facts, but may be next time,
Great video Tim - Fantasia is the revamped family entertainment centre and the snooker club has also been refurbished and is still upstairs. The Regal is still a restaurant and has a fish and chip shop (hugely popular) at the very front - just to clarify.
The hotel was closed September last year due to low visitors it s very dated but there was planning permission for flats but car parking and issue with council. Some say maybe knocked down ? Love Felixstowe daughter lives in Ipswich and M in L had caravan on Suffolk sand s. Love the Languard fort. The cafe by foot ferry has a screen where u can see what ships are coming in and out my youngest used to pick ships and say she sinking them.
Hi Tim,must admit ,didn't know Felixstowe was a seaside resort, only knew of the docks because many years ago I went with a friend from there to Belgium for weekend trip.Great video Tim ,the filming is spoton, the snow brings out the colours so well.
Most of the books I write are centred around a fictional coastal hamlet, in Suffolk, Tim. East Anglia is such a wonderful tranquil place, full of myths, legends and beautiful coastline. Thanks for such a wonderful, inspiring vid. ☺☺
Well I have to say Tim it’s definitely 👍🏻so cold that day and less to say drone footages were absolutely brilliant😊.was Gaby with you on that video as I was wondering to whom was holding your camera.Have you yet decided where your next journey .looking forward to your next TH-cam 👍🏻
Hi Tim. Another great vlog. As you might know I’m a professional drummer and I have played on stage by the beach at the last two Felixstowe carnivals. Was meant to play last year and this year, but I think it’s now been cancelled again till 2022. Would be great to meet you if you decide to pop down. Wonder if Gaby has sung at the Carnival? Always PM me if you want. Thank you for this vlog, and look forward to your next one. Have a great weekend. Your Fan Andy. 😊
I recommend a place called Clovelly in North Devon, it has got a very steep incline with it's main cobbled street but it is very stunning plus there is a rather big visitors centre at the top that people enter through
OMG, I was there when you were filming. We had just collected a car and stopped on the front for chips, thought it was you and was going to shout but didnt in case it wasn't.
I used to go in that crazy house 🏠 to that what it used to be called I think I used to go there every Sunday whiles my family used to look around the market please reply x
Felixstowe Pier looks beautiful with stained glass very similar to Wellington Pier, it is like a Cathedral of arcades I can picture a pipe organ in the building. I Guest it is owned by Family Amusements like Wellington Pier.
Question was your trip essential I like in Felixstowe area , remember we are in a lockdown - I do not even travel to Ipswich or other parts of Suffolk !
