love watching this kid win tournaments, he doesn't flip out but you can tell by his face how much love and passion he has for SC2 and how happy he gets when he wins
Amazing simply amazing !!! a big round of applause for LiquidTaeja after a remarkable run in this tournament ! Congratulations guys ! Everyone worked really hard for this amazing tournament ! You guys did extremely well ! keep up the good work ! ^__^
Hey guys, for those who are complaining about TaeJa cheating his way through Game 6: I spend a lot of time on the ladder, and before they disabled the horizontal spawns on Deadwing, the tank drop used to happen to me on EVERY game vs Terran. It wasn't that TaeJa knew about the roaches, it was that the map and spawning positions were begging for a tank. If you want to see how terrifying the Deadwing tank drop can be, I recommend watching Scarlett's first game against Heart in the WCS America Season 3 Ro32.
Especially since he uses terran. I like terran so much, and though I won't spill out balance bullshit, I do have to say terran weaknesses makes gets the best of some players. I respect them very much.
Such an exciting final of all 7 games, what a micro skills! Guess you guys will do quick and great Chinese embroidery with these skills too! And, you two commentators boys are doing with great excitment too, great job for you all guys!
Don't worry, the Protoss were crushing on ladder while this was going on with oracles, blink all ins, unscouted dt's, a move colossus deathball. They were going for dumb attacks and then recalling and winning, they were hopelessly out of position but saved by a nexus cannon and they were losing fights but warping 15 charge zealots in the main.
Taeja has time and time again proved he is a phenomenal player. Listen to what they said: 10 wins in 11 finals in championships. He is a fantastic player. Tanks are a smart defense when he doesn't know what is coming, there's nothing unreasonable about him pausing, thinking it over, and getting a quick tank. No way he cheated. He would never risk his reputation and career by cheating in a final.
That was like 2 guys throwing sucker punches at each other until one fell over.... I think game 6 was the breakung point for Solar. He got so far ahead with the initial roach push that he didn't think to transition out of it, even though tanks were out. Looking forward to seeing him in other international tournaments a well.
Awesome game ! Love it ! Tae Ja , I think is one of the best terran player of all . Still , I think that he could use more mech in all those games . Anyway he's one of a kind . Go go Tae Ja win more ! I love terran , love Protos but I hate zerg . Zerg is the Starcraft II bug !
Blake Robinson You win basically when your opponent decides to leave, however you can officially eliminate your opponent by killing all of their structures (not units). It is extremely rare that this will happen though because there comes a time when one player realizes they will simply not be able to stop their opponent's army. So rather than sticking around and meaninglessly prolonging the game as their opponent sits back and demolishes your structures, they simply tap out. Really the only time someone is officially eliminated (in pro games) is an exceedingly rare scenario called a "Base Race". It's pretty much what it sounds like, where for whatever reason both players have units destroying each other's bases simultaneously and the game becomes a race to kill every structure in the base.
When it comes to Taeja cheating... Deadwing is a map where many professional terran players open with a tank or two because of the 3rd base location. Tanks can harass the 3rd without being hindered much (which Taeja did when he took his own 3rd, although ideally he wanted to do it earlier, but you know why he could not do so...). Look at Taeja build; tank and medivac right after it (at 1:47:49) obviously to pick up tank and harass. This is true especially in this game --- the spawning location was perfect for tank harass. I can not understand how commentators did not evaluate or bring up this nuances of the map and build order (instead of saying: "oh this is just game sense.....")
What a cheat. Look closely at Taeja's eyes look towards the crowd just before he pauses the game around 1:45:20. Make sure your screen is on FULL SCREEN + HD. His eyes become wide open from his peripheral vision, then he quickly glances at the crowd just before pausing. Someone clearly tipped him off. The crowd area shouldn't be lit, good job event hosts.
It's kind of sad and pathetic that you went through the trouble frame by frame and the only thing you can find is that Taeja's eyes opened like 1 pixel wider. Obviously you found nothing but if you're going to spend hours examining him frame by frame then you had to come up with something right? You could just exercise common sense, if he was cheating, then he should have been warned much earlier to prepare for defense. Instead he had the perfect amount of gas for a tank which means he was going tanks all along(at this level every single gas is planned out so he was going tanks from the start). The announcers made a big deal about "star sense" because they got to hype it up for the noobs but tank play on that map is pretty standard.
Jim008 Pathetic how? Because I observed his reaction 1-2 seconds before the suspicious pause? Only someone truly pathetic like you would analyze the entire video or assume someone did. Don't mention the part where he looked at the crowd before the pause in your comment. Not to mention the numerous other comments agreeing with me down below. Like you knew what he was going to build. Maybe your potato screen doesn't have enough pixels for you to notice when he looked at the crowd immediately before the pause.
Jim008 There's a lot more to it than "Taeja's eyes opening 1 pixel wider". At 1:45:25 you can clearly see a significant change in Taeja's expression. He looks up at the crowd, his mouth opens, and his eyes widen. All clear signs of him being surprised. Then IMMEDIATELY after this shocked expression he calls for a pause due to "lag". What were the chances that there actually was lag AND such suspicious circumstances prior to the pause? Now regarding your "common sense". It is possible that he was saving for a tank anyway because you're right in saying that "every single gas is planned out". However just because he had the right amount of gas for a tank doesn't necessarily mean he was intending to get one. Everything is just too conspicuous and it doesn't quite add up. Now, though I do believe he cheated in this manner, to Taeja's credit I don't think it was really intentional. What probably occurred is he happened to be tipped off by the audience by coincidence, then he panicked and made a split second decision to tip the game in his favor (pausing) which he probably regretted later.
taejas an awesome player.. solar is excellent 2.. and those who think taeja cheated at game six are highly mistaken.. taeja goes tanks because of the map set up.. going tanks early isnt risky, its actually the best strategy FOR this map because of the range, the distance between bases and the barrier than protects the tanks in order to hit the mineral line of solars expand with impunity.
1:50:03 Taeja sees like 14 roaches and builds 2 Engineering Bays. Apollo and Kaelaris are trying to hype it up and Taeja's just like "I got this. 2 Engineering Bays!"
can a starcraft pro tell me, if it is possible for zergs to do well if they don't expand and all over the map and follow the strategy of terran to harass with early game units like roaches and zlings n blings? and can terrans do well if they follow the zerg openings like make lots of command centers with lots of scv? if they can't do well, then is it safe to assume all zerg/terran players must follow the same set of opening?
The 6th games is just sooooooooooooo fucking sick. I think the crucial factor that saved Taeja ass is his 3rd CC. Of course, the hold he made happen is the most awesome part. But have 40 scv vs 40 drones after all of that ? This is how calm a champion could possibly be.
game 6 ... I think taeja heard about the attack when the pause came in... he build a tank the moment the pause ended and the casters broadcast in the same room as the players, so when the door was first opened for the admin he probably heard it.
Lol all the bronze/non players calling Taeja a cheater... he didn't look away once he was staring forward the entire time and he got starport before gas so the tank once he had 100 gas which was part of his build order.
He was going for a tank drop to abuse the spawns they got and that happend to be the right choice to hold what solar was doing. He was already going for that before the pause happened cause he was making marines instead of hellions
Game sense my ass. He paused, he saw the reactions and instantly build a tank! Quite undeserving winner, plus the fact that he only won because on two games he got good - zero APM - WM detonations. Say a big thanks to David Kim!
Cimee95 To confirm what? They were going the completely wrong direction to confirm roaches were coming. Also those positions, building tanks are pretty viable as they can deny the quicker 3rd since the other base is cut off by rocks.
***** At best case scenario, he saw the tense on the crowd or he checked something while not playing and realized something cheese was going on. He probably moved marines because he wasn't exactly sure what the nature of cheese was.
Only i See it 'strange' that when TaeJa had 'Lags' and when admin came to his box sec. after game started he was building tanks and took marine from bunker to main ramp to def? Weeery good game reading ;)
Is there any reason the casters focus primarily on Taeja every game? Is this an accidental bias? Is he a fan favorite? Or is he the "home team" or whatever?
***** more like an underdog. Taeja is an exception for terran, not many can play like him, imagine if he were a Toss player? Everybody would hate him cause Toss is naturally dominent in even the least skilled players hands.
As always? Tanks near worthless besides TvT and the one instance in TvZ where they are useful (vs roach) they are now "OP". There is a reason tanks are rarely used and fyi it's not because they're op.
U don't even need to be a hard core SC2 player to know that tanks are a POS. Name a Protoss unit that does not counter tanks other than Probes and Sentries.
145:26 Teaja is watching his screen but then reads a signal? 145:29 Pauses 145:31 Quick glance back at signal ..:36 Another glance ..:40-43 Receiving information from signal ..:43-47 Fast glance at monitor and then straight back to getting info ..:49 He knows what's coming right here; begins to think about counter ..:51 Back to source of information ..:52 Almost a scared glance at official, straight back to source and laugh from the caster and an ironic comment about him being "oblivious" about what is going on...right. 146:09 Solar begins to check for shennanigans, scanning the crowd, himself ..:17 Does he know TaeJa has been tipped off? 146:25-35 Has his plan down, couple of glances back. 146:51 Reading more information HE NEVER LOOKS THAT DIRECTION AGAIN FOR THE REST OF THE GAME Follow up match gets paused and started from replay? Nice... 202:35 Looks at the exact same place he was when he received the tip-off and gives the thumbs up! 203:00 Does Solar know he was cheated out of his victory? I would be interested in seeing the footage of the crowd at 145:20-150:00. Go back through with these notes and time it with the discussion of the casters.

Best Grand Finals that I've ever watched, personally.
the first 5 games were great, agreed, but in game 6 and 7 solars play was artrocious. A bit of an anticlimactic end i think :/
these guys are such incredible casters
Taeja is such an adorable guy (NO HOMO xD) and such a great talent. We all will miss him after his retirement...
Especially since he uses terran. I like terran so much, and though I won't spill out balance bullshit, I do have to say terran weaknesses makes gets the best of some players. I respect them very much.
I hate his play style and pussy wrists.
I would definetely let taeja penetrate my rectal area
man, this is one of the best matches i've ever seen
An absolutely amazing series. Don't watch if you have heart problems.
Humanity overcomes every obstacle
Those were some pretty sick games, all of them nailbiters.
Nice to see a TvZ final for a change as well.
Such an exciting final of all 7 games, what a micro skills! Guess you guys will do quick and great Chinese embroidery with these skills too!
And, you two commentators boys are doing with great excitment too, great job for you all guys!
As a casual Star craft player, the way they move their hands on the key board makes me absolutely astonished
I think its great with QXC casts and couch talk, that insider terran talk is great. Also Taeja is brilliant, so worthy.
This series is so long this is literally my fourth time loading it up to watch some more of it. Maybe I can finish it finally?
Amazing series and sick games from both players!!
No Protoss :D
Yeah, good.
Don't worry, the Protoss were crushing on ladder while this was going on with oracles, blink all ins, unscouted dt's, a move colossus deathball. Peter Hardie Hahaha aint it the truth dude
Peter Hardie Kill the Mother ship core......
andrew1007 Hush now, Protoss player
What a talent player...so humble and so good! Good luck with your career! You kick ass!
possibly the best grand final ever in iem history.
Sick hold in game 6.
there was no hold
Game 6 actually
he was so aheaed and then go for meat grinder and expanded next to terrna's third. like wtf mate
WNxNokturnal
Yes you are!
how is that sick? 3 sieged tanks all those scv's and a bunker, fucking stupid casters zerg is shit underpowered
Best finals this year. Taeja is a monster.

Love the baneling snipes at 49:10
That was very entertaining, that 3rd game was pretty intense
I'm very happy for the winner! GJ!
anybod name of the song? 1:57:07 plz
sorry, the song below was from the first break not the one at 1:57:07
spotify said Blu (original Mix) by Mah & MITIS
Taeja is my favorite Terran player. So many scary moment for me watching this, but wow, that hold in the 6th match is insane!
Taeja is noob
Asian with glasses vs asian with glasses, good match
the glasses make all the difference
& bowl cuts, all about them bowl cuts
Its a mirror match , pretty sure its the same person
They are simply better than us bro's, they just are.
And mouth breathing, it all comes down to mouth breathing..
i just finished a grand finals where Flash won and this is another grand finals? how many tournaments are there in SC2?
there's a lot of premiers with their own grand finals and Blizzcon which is like the ULTIMATE tournament to end the year.
Im curious what determines a win. A certain amount of units lost?
Blake Robinson no xD The enemy just surrendered. Because he had nothing left and took too much damage.
Lev Grishchuk Thanks.
Blake Robinson You win basically when your opponent decides to leave, however you can officially eliminate your opponent by killing all of their structures (not units). +Stuart Smith precisely, and when you';re TaeJa in a 1:48:33 sitch with yo ass on the line - 'GG' ain't no option!
I dont have sc but i play some time it with my friends but this was AWESOME!
Some good games, especially #3
Add game 6, fantastic
I always route for the zerg, especially against terran these days, but game 6 was insane!
whats the song at the 1:14 mark? :D
solid game 3 from both players!!
Awesome! Great game! Great event!
exciting Grand Final!

starcraft seems to be a very interesting game, lemme download it right now
when is going to build battle cruisers?
IEM Katowice memories are coming back!

yes definitely looks weird why he look away first then pp..
he was worried about the lag.

Why is this playlist posted backwards?
Great games, **** it I'm watching this AGAIN :D
Whatever happened to liquid hero and the other hero?
where is this game being played ?
Toss op...
Wait, what race is op nowadays? What do we whine about in SC2 now?
taejas an awesome player.. solar is excellent 2.. and those who think taeja cheated at game six are highly mistaken.. taeja goes tanks because of the map set up.. going tanks early isnt risky, its actually the best strategy FOR this map because of the range, the distance between bases and the barrier than protects the tanks in order to hit the mineral line of solars expand with impunity.
Game six was so intense when i watched it live i freaked out
I wish if only Desrow could win IEM, it think that would break the tradition, or Carmac's back.
Anyone know the song at 1:57:10 ?
"It's a timing barn door!" lol I died xD
2:19:34 to till until Taeja leaves is one of the most awkward moments i've seen :D
Taeja's face at 1:28:15 when he noticed all those mutas died is great
what a great defence in g6. Teaja is such a good player
1:50:03 Taeja sees like 14 roaches and builds 2 Engineering Bays. Apollo and Kaelaris are trying to hype it up and Taeja's just like "I got this. 2 Engineering Bays!"
Great match!!!
1080p please ESL
can a starcraft pro tell me, if it is possible for zergs to do well if they don't expand and all over the map and follow the strategy of terran to harass with early game units like roaches and zlings n blings?
and can terrans do well if they follow the zerg openings like make lots of command centers with lots of scv?
if they can't do well, then is it safe to assume all zerg/terran players must follow the same set of opening?
Just rewatched this. So sad when Solar didn't continue to drone after the 7 roach rush in game 6
Although on that map I suppose he didn't really have a choice.
that was beautiful gameplay
Good matches
...what is Taeja singing? @ 1:13:35....
anyone know the song at 1:58:20
I don't know how taeja has been able to win game 6.. GOGOGOG TAEJA!!
how much life views did it peak at?
nice they finally mark the race in the title , now i only miss the casters name to be blend in...
1:48:33 D:
1:54:00 B)
Wow this games are just wow
Such an awkward trophy ceremony. Why was there no one there with a mic to greet him?? wtf
The 6th games is just sooooooooooooo fucking sick. I think the crucial factor that saved Taeja ass is his 3rd CC. Of course, the hold he made happen is the most awesome part. But have 40 scv vs 40 drones after all of that ? This is how calm a champion could possibly be.
game 6 ... I think taeja heard about the attack when the pause came in... he build a tank the moment the pause ended and the casters broadcast in the same room as the players, so when the door was first opened for the admin he probably heard it.
i want solar's keyboard, anyone know what it is?
Why do players have earphones underneath their headphones? Are they just listening to music under there?
Noise Cancellation.
Game 3 was amazing!!!
Calaris: "how did they get there?!"
Apollo: "they flew there..."
Lol all the bronze/non players calling Taeja a cheater... he didn't look away once he was staring forward the entire time and he got starport before gas so the tank once he had 100 gas which was part of his build order.
Did taeja hear the casters in that pause in game 6? How else could he have come out of that?
He was going for a tank drop to abuse the spawns they got and that happend to be the right choice to hold what solar was doing. He was already going for that before the pause happened cause he was making marines instead of hellions
Just like in SC1, marines are overpowered. As long as its not fixed, this game wont sell many
Why not 1080p??Dont get it. Sucks
Great game!
Game sense my ass. He paused, he saw the reactions and instantly build a tank! Quite undeserving winner, plus the fact that he only won because on two games he got good - zero APM - WM detonations. Say a big thanks to David Kim!
If he knew, why the marine go away from bunker ?
nvm
Cimee95 To confirm what? They were going the completely wrong direction to confirm roaches were coming.
Also those positions, building tanks are pretty viable as they can deny the quicker 3rd since the other base is cut off by rocks.
You know there is a game that you use to really love. And you should get back at it.
***** At best case scenario, he saw the tense on the crowd or he checked something while not playing and realized something cheese was going on. He probably moved marines because he wasn't exactly sure what the nature of cheese was.

Solar rockin' the double headphones. Must be a habit or superstition because they aren't there for utility lol. That said, great series!
that PP was very convenient and then to auto produce tank right after... hmmm. Love Taeja though personally... gj
Wow, game 3 is very interesting, i like it so much :)))))))
why does starcraft turnament keep lagging...???
starcraft 2 very nice game. Amazing.
glorious games
I bet one of the audience managed to told Taeja the 7-roach rush.
Tanks are disgustingly OP as always
cant use marines tanks vs zerg anymore. mass mutas would destroy it
As always? Tanks near worthless besides TvT and the one instance in TvZ where they are useful (vs roach) they are now "OP". There is a reason tanks are rarely used and fyi it's not because they're op.
Tanks are pure shit man. Only the map can help them being efficient in some way, like some of the new ones for instance.
U don't even need to be a hard core SC2 player to know that tanks are a POS. Name a Protoss unit that does not counter tanks other than Probes and Sentries.
@BeardMinister Baneling rush is disgustingly OP as always.
Congratulation to you, TaeJa!! :)))
Taeja is a poor noob
Who can stop this guy...
145:26 Teaja is watching his screen but then reads a signal?
145:29 Pauses
145:31 Quick glance back at signal
..:36 Another glance
..:40-43 Receiving information from signal
..:43-47 Fast glance at monitor and then straight back to getting info
..:49 He knows what's coming right here; begins to think about counter
..:51 Back to source of information
..:52 Almost a scared glance at official, straight back to source and laugh from the caster and an ironic comment about him being "oblivious" about what is going on...right.
146:09 Solar begins to check for shennanigans, scanning the crowd, himself
..:17 Does he know TaeJa has been tipped off?
146:25-35 Has his plan down, couple of glances back.
146:51 Reading more information
HE NEVER LOOKS THAT DIRECTION AGAIN FOR THE REST OF THE GAME
Follow up match gets paused and started from replay? Nice...
202:35 Looks at the exact same place he was when he received the tip-off and gives the thumbs up!
203:00 Does Solar know he was cheated out of his victory?
I would be interested in seeing the footage of the crowd at 145:20-150:00. Go back through with these notes and time it with the discussion of the casters.
jippie.. finally 720p is here :)
720p? really?
