A hard fought TvP win at a high-level always looks like the terran needs 3 times the skill. The protoss needs to manage a single death ball, while having strong defensive units and warp ins; the terran needs to manage multiple simultaneous drops, a weaker defense, and a main army that needs a huge amount of micro to stay alive.
DavenH I don't think you understand what I ment. low level player = you didn't provide any correct facts. For example, do realise Protoss needs to spread 5 - 10 observers for map vision, and split his army 3 ways to deal with drops, as well as be ready for full on attacks just to stay alive? It's easier to shiftclick a drop, then it is to stop one. If that looks like massive multitasking and hard work for the T when it kills a P, you're wrong. You're just biased.
That's exactly what it is. Just look at a typical Protoss army vs a typical Terran army. Protoss with colossi, stalkers, zealots, and high templar just needs to A move and cast storm. Terran with marine, marauder, medivac, vikings, and ghosts needs to A move, stim, split army up to get a concave, target vikings onto colossi, and kite back vs zealots when they get close. That's more than twice as many actions.
For people complaining about PvT balance: TaeJa deserved all 3 wins. In the 2nd game Zest's Colossi were miles out of position and got traded badly - a mistake that costs you games at Zest's level. In the 3rd game the stalker attack started out well - but as it dragged on Zest wasn't reinforcing. He had 700+ minerals sitting in his bank and over 100 gas. That could have been another like 2 stalkers +5 zealots, or an immortal + 5 Zealots which might have won Zest the game. because TaeJa had basically nothing at the end of that fight- it was so close. Also I think Zest not taking out the bunker in TaeJa's natural was a mistake. In short - TaeJa played better and deserved the 3-0.
Just to all the guys out there saying Taeja is so overrated and GSL code S is the best and all that good stuff. 1. I appreciate you guys riding we Korean's d***s but please stop. 2. Taeja started SC since he was in preschool and wanted to be a pro since middle school, but couldn't because of his parents. Later, he went out in a GSL due to his teacher's recommendation and kinda moseyed his way up to the actual brackets. He was admitted to the SlayerS team, and had 2 GSTL all kills, proving himself to be their youngest ace. He did suffer in personal leagues compare to his teammate terrans in SlayerS in Code S. After moving to team liquid his potential finally started to break out, going up to Ro8 in GSL. IPL area team matches were where Taeja really shone, making the kills when it counted, with also an all kill against Prime. 3. His wrist is in terrible condition, and it can't be fixed by surgery because it is a problem in the nerves. If he continues to play for a long time, It grows so that he can't even move it. Maybe that can be an explanation as to why his gameplay drops in long runs such as WCS. Conclusion: You guys are overrating GSL code S players to the point where it seems "Non GSL code S? He isn't even pro" Code S is a limited space, much more limited than before, and that is why pro players decide to go EU and NA, not because they have less skills.
wp taeja, to bad zest played his c game, really bungling important stuff. 2nd game in particular, did he right click move his army in his main by accident or ?
I hate see that everyone is still raging about balance :D I have something to say to the balance ragers: If you make a mistake in your game: you lose. Look at taeja he doesnt make a mistake and thats why he wins.( there are other players too not just him, Life, HerO, etc.)
Why didn't Zest pull probes to fight off scv on game 2? I mean if it's an all in from Taeja, why not do an All in defense vs All in for best measure? lol
I don't understand why you guys keep asking me to subscribe in the middle of battles. I already subscribe and it's super annoying to have to keep x-ing the pop-ups.
I think it's amusing that some of these very young 20 year olds say they have bad wrists. No. It's not physically possible. You just got beat. It is LITERALLY not physically possible. Human joints just don't wear out in like two years, no, we're built better than that. Excuses.
Sigh protoss fools saying terran is op. Listen to the commentators. What were they saying game 1. Terran has to do this amd this and this amd this...just to get an even fight. Its always about how terran has to do crazy micro to keep up. Plus, they said, not for the first time, once protoss gets to a certain point they dont lose. Rarely. And its true at a certain point as a terran you know youve lost. Terran is all about the mid game but its becoming harder and harder to do any damage midgame. So given that plus results across the board its still favored toward protoss. As for the noon Theodore, how come terran doesnt get to have an all-in move? What about the 6 gate blink all in. Two immortal all in. 4 oracle gateway all in. Protoss has so many all-ins but when terran does the scv all-in everybody loses their minds! And stop complaining about stupid mules. Jeez its so annoying. Finally for game 2. Zest should have won despite forgetting warp gate mind you. He had weird/bad positioning on the final hold.
Pro level TvP has to be the most boring matchup currently, especially if both players refrain from early game aggression. neother side can attack the other without losing more than defender. SUCH DESIGN!
no way, the most boring has to be ZvZ, which always looks the same: zerglings into banelings into roaches. For me TvP is fun to watch and play as a terran.
What kind of message does BW/SC2 MM send to young people today? That constant use of drugs is ok because healthcare can fix/heal its negative effects...?
.. Taeja it's too good, Protoss OP ? i don't think .. first game > Ghost totaly OP, Second 3 reboot and he win .. and third medivac stim > kite on the over side of the map ...
There is every reason to praise Taeja. When it comes to international tournament, there is no other terrans with same consistency as Taeja. On top of this, he has wrists problem and still man handled Zest.
M1710 Yes he's a good player but he didnt man handle zest at all, zest made some fucking stupid decisions. As for his wrist problem i really dont think its that bad.
Bollocks. Although there are some very strong players in pro league there are some fairly average ones as well. Teaja is Code S round of 8 class. No doubt in the same league as Bbyong and Maru
That last counter after he held off that push on his natural.... so damn sickkkk
thanks for uploading

That's only because you are a low level player and don't understand the game.
SleepyFoX Typical deflection from the facts.

Apollo & Kaelaris are the best casters IMO

When you behind, dark shrine. When too behind, Taeja style.
such Taeja. Some of the best micro I've ever seen.
Much luv & mad respect to Taeja !
The sick plays from Taeja!!!
What a great player and what a talent humble player. You kick ass Taeja!

Taeja's SCVs were like: you ran out of marine?
Can you guys put the races in the title or description?
well people would know the preferred races of these players
You might as well not follow the competitive scene if you don't know what races Zest or Taeja plays.
The title does say "PvT" which means Protoss versus Terran.
Just watching this for blizzcon hype!
Wish this could have been the final.
wp taeja, to bad zest played his c game, really bungling important stuff. 2nd game in particular, did he right click move his army in his main by accident or ?

What was the song that was playing at @43.36?
TaeJa the half god showing how to play Terran !
Taeja delivered during the clutch moments.
whats the song at 44 mins in the toilet break of taeja
haha
taeja is a monster, end of the discussion
AMAZING!
whats the music on 43.35 ?
Why didn't Zest pull probes to fight off scv on game 2? I mean if it's an all in from Taeja, why not do an All in defense vs All in for best measure? lol
Because if Zest lost all his probes, it isn't an all in anymore for Taeja with mules.
how did zest lose the 2nd and 3rd game, especially the 3rd?!
I don't understand why you guys keep asking me to subscribe in the middle of battles. I already subscribe and it's super annoying to have to keep x-ing the pop-ups.
why no 1080p? :(
Teaja means `Son of Emepror'in Korea
Reality check time for TOSS. It was just a matter of time before your shenanigans fizzled. Now bow down & witness true power. Terran FOREVER !
I think it's amusing that some of these very young 20 year olds say they have bad wrists. No. It's not physically possible. You just got beat. It is LITERALLY not physically possible. Human joints just don't wear out in like two years, no, we're built better than that. Excuses.
I LIKED THIS
Nice play Taeja O,o
Taeja so Skilled
Taeja is officially the greatest player ever, better then MVP.
U mean flash? =)
lintownboy in SC2. Taeja needs that Blizzcon win. slaying all the GSL players and then retiring in style
Sigh protoss fools saying terran is op. Listen to the commentators. What were they saying game 1. Terran has to do this amd this and this amd this...just to get an even fight. stim = OP xD
Blink is op ballings are op burrow is op. This is all I see when a persons favorite race losses why dont u focus on the micro cause thats Op
Jordan Sheran Every single time. it's so annoying, and I love zest, my favorite SC2 player, but stim had nothing to do with it :P
Jordan Sheran good ol baller banelings
Banelings and storm say "screw your stim"
TAEJA MY KING
to be fair, zest kinda threw that 2nd game, but the rest was just beautiful play by taeja
super game!
Scan = Free maphack. I dont care if protoss has won more this year. I still feel like the game is balanced by watching this.
Protoss was on 3-3 vs 2-2 terran. But mass ghosts and vikings is almost unbeatable.
lintownboy
not unbeatable, hard counter to Zest's collosus zealot build. HARD counter.
His favourite word is maybe... xD
Ive never seen even one nuke yet in a pro game too bad it was gg before it dropped:(
no blinkstalker allin, no gg

Zest totally had that 2nd game... Korean players really need to learn not to GG so damn early, you see it from them way too often.
Yeah I was thinking he had a shot too in the 2nd game. It was still close, only one colossus left but even so. Taeja had almost nothing left.
in the second game you can see very clear how terrible protoss players actually are, sad to watch that
Zest had some absolutely HORRIBLE micro in some of those battles. I've lost a lot of respect for him after this match.
Cut the man some slack bro he was nervous.
Pie holic
Doubt he was nervous, he won gsl which is a much bigger and harder tournament...
lintownboy this is IEM in China. Its a different environment from GSL.
Pie holic
Whats your point? its televised and have commentators and world class players.. i would say gsl is much harder
lintownboy different environment, different feels.
Zest played terrible and almost won these last 2 games. Everyone praises taeja to be like some god, if he palyed in proleague he would get destroyed.
As for his wrist problem i really dont think its that bad.
dave bob No I don't think he made stupid decisions at all. He just underestimated Taeja. Taeja was on top of everything in every battles.
Bollocks. Although there are some very strong players in pro league there are some fairly average ones as well. Teaja is Code S round of 8 class. No doubt in the same league as Bbyong and Maru
Hhahahahahahahah same class as maru you must be joking..
terrans are so op
whatever, son. Care a shit.
Foist!
