How to Install Mirrors - Yamaha MT03

- Installing or removing mirrors on the Yamaha MT03 or R3 stock mirror mounts is straightforward but a few tips makes the process easier and makes sure the mirrors stay securely mounted and that the threads are not damaged. Forgetting that the left mirror is installed and removed in the opposite direction as the right mirror can result in damaged threads. The left mirror is "rightly loosey", "lefty tighty" while the right mirror is righty tighty, lefty loosey. Knowing how far to turn in mirrors before using the locknut is also key to adjusting mirrors for maximum visibility while making sure they don't come loose. Many other motorcycle models from other brands also use a similar style mirror mounting process. This method applies to most street motorcycle mirrors.

If you care to actually see behind you, stock Yamaha mirrors are really good 👍🏼.
Very useful info especially revealing the fact that the left hand mirror has a left hand thread. I’ll bare that in mind if I ever drop the bike and have to change it as they’re quite vulnerable. Any hints and tips relating to the MT 03 are always welcome, thanks for sharing.
I've changed many mirrors and when I haven't done it in a while even I have to pause and ask myself, "Was it the left one or the right one that was a left hand thread?" I almost made this video just for my own reference.

@@Voltomess I have to squeeze my bike out through a tight doorway and a tight gate. Barends would make that difficult.
