@@chaosinc.382 i do believe that the reason he slowed down so much during the races is because he kept on slamming into walls and losing control, breaking would mitigate this, and if it is possible, clever drifting would negate that entirely.
ironically, going too fast caused him to end up in the back end of the line of racers
@@chaosinc.382 When you are trying to land some of the jumps slowing down would let you ride the slope smoothly instead of hitting the crest and bouncing.
@@chaosinc.382 slowing down for turns preserves more speed than hitting a wall
also, braking in the air preserves your rotation for jumps :3

@PXLTRON I see. I've been a Trackmania player for over 12 years (Sunrise then Stadium) and love the series, but was disappointed to find out this newest game was subscription only. I guess my question is, would you say that there is enough content in this game that is F2P to keep it interesting without having to pay for a subscription? I'm planning on playing this with my homies and don't want to be disappointed by the lack of tracks if there are any.
@@mysteryY2K $15 for a year though iirc; but with campaigns coming out every season, cup of the day, etc, it's pretty worthwhile even for a free player

if the current 25 track choice happens to be bad you're just stuck with it for 3 months, and even cup of the day isn't free, so you can only play that and the free channel
hell you can't even get local maps in the free version

i'm starting to think daniel may have been the drift king back in college
I’ve been playing Trackmania since childhood - I still have the CD for the original game, and United was one of the first games in my Steam library. I haven’t played any of the other games (this is TrackMania 2020, which Ubisoft decided to screw with by making it subscription-based) but it’s still nice to see RT enjoying Nadeo’s flagship series.

I've noticed that RT will gravitate towards any object in front of him. Trees, barriers, energy beams from Hollow Knight bosses, you get the picture. In driving terms this is called not looking where you want to go. I suggest he play Touhou to fix this problem. Or die a lot. That could happen too.

I grew up playing TM nations forever. It still has a competitive community 12 years later, which is pretty incredibly for a free game.
