Standard time year round my vote. Depends where you are on the globe. Guess we need permanent latitude combined with longitude time zones now.

Standard time should be permanent for all states that want it and the ones that want to side with daylight savings time do it , put it to a vote and see what the public has to offer and say about it, the daylight is the best part , it’s the night time that is controversial , any kids, pets won’t go to sleep when they still think it’s still middle of the day hours after 7pm everyday, it’s been a topic of discussion for over centuries/ years of discussion and debate

A fourth option that was never mentioned: Stay on the same time year-round, but halfway in between standard and daylight time. In other words, spring forward a half-hour and leave the clock there permanently.

If you set clocks forward 30 minutes
Sunrise and Sunset would be 30 minutes later
      December 21
Sunrise at 7:57am change to 8:27am
      Sunrise will be later
Sunset at 5:02pm change to 5:32pm
      Sunset will be later

Detroit is on the W edge of ET, so sunrises & sunsets are later there year-round than in places like Bangor, Maine, where summer sunrises can be before 5 AM & winter sunsets can be before 4 PM. No DST would put its summer sunrises before 4 AM. I'm ok living in an area (N. Texas) where the sun never rises before 6 AM or sets before 5 PM. I'm also ok w/ changing my clocks twice a year, but if I had to choose permanent time, I'd rather be in permanent DST, as I've never been much of a morning person.

Keeping daylight saving time all year round would not be a good idea at all, exspecially not having a sunrise untill nearly 9 in the morning, oh hell no. Standard time has always been better, and daylight saving time is only usable in the summer because people want to spend more time outside and play.

The top corners is what you would get during the months of June July and August and then you would get the bottom corners during the months of December January and February

I was thinking of another idea that we should change the clock only 30 mins different not an hr.

2:22 - 1 worry is that kids hav 2 go 2 school in the dark with daylight... If we chang the start time 2 latr 4 school like 9:30 a., 9:45 a., they'd go 2 n come back home in daylight. Also I heard on TV yrs ago it was good if students started school latr 4 something, maybe the biological clocks.

I hope either this year or next year will be the last day for changing our clocks. My honest opinion I do like daylight saving time for more evening summer activities such as playing baseball, swimming, but standard time would probably be better for all of us I know city public pools could choose either close sooner or stay open, but most people have pools of their own if they want to night swim at home and for people who like to play cornhole or unless they put lights on the board would have to put the game up early, but standard time would be good for spring/summer/fall bonfires and baseball still can be played because our fields have lights we could use, also if we want to do start fire works anytime now for daylight savings time in December all the Christmas lights especially at Christmas parades won’t come on until after 6:02pm as supposed to coming on earlier after the sun sets at 5:02pm.

I agree with standard time all year. I'd be willing to compromise with limiting DST to summer only. It would be a lot easier on the body to have the time changes occur when there is 13-14 hours of Daylight, rather than waiting until almost winter and before the first day of spring to adjust the clocks.
Set the clocks ahead the third Sunday in May and set them back the second Sunday in September.
