Most of the allleged foreign aid are actually Business Investments. The government India has asked Britain to stop giving reparations in 2012. All the money Britain said they gave to India goes to Non-Government Organization, which are used in spreading propaganda against India, create internal disturbance and communal tensions. Indian economy has surpassed UK, now it's a aid giver to other nations. India gave aid to countries like Sri Lanka, Maldives, Mongolia, Bhutan etc.

@@ReldrikGeoIn fact, it has been quite some time that India banned any foreign aid to its government.
Indian agricultural subsidies are more than this alleged aid.
This aid money is given to the missionary organisations in India, such as the guy who went to that island in India to convert the tribals, and got killed.

There's a bold assumption in the west that india actually started to fall apart when Britain and the "white saviours" left the country. Now obviously these things are perpetrated by the media in the uk, the states and here in Australia... I too, being Australian, was white washed about the underrated potential and struggle of indians and I always, like most people, thought it's funny to be racist towards indians and call them dirty... And many other worse things... Until i moved to india regarding my work. Literally helped me a ton learning about indian people and-since I'm interested in history too-about india. Now I'm back at home and have great admiration for indians. I lived in many cities there... Realised how western media has always avoided the progress india has made and infrastructure they've been able to develop in many cities... Considering the size of india... I'm not hesitant to say india has 5 times more the top tier infrastructure the UK as a whole have. I feel ashamed how we are so judgemental and are blinded in superior complex when talking about india or africa... As if all UK have had as their economy wasn't directly funded by the cash cow india and how UK and other European countries now can't seem to remain economically stable let alone progress further. Sorry for the rant.

Reg the beginning of a united and democratic India, our first Prime Minister Nehru asked two specific people, Vallabhbhai Patel and VP Menon, to make sure all provinces acceded to a single Union.
They raced around the country in 1947, coaxing, cajoling, threatening all the kings and princes (about 500 of them!).
That they managed to accomplish this was a massive start to a united and democratic India.
Since then, we have managed to hang together and thrive. In spite of every once in a while, a few fissiparous tendencies in some or other part of the country

Thank you brother for trying to understand our point of view, we don't want anything from britain or the west, but they should atleast know about their imperialist crimes before making judgements about our current state and lecturing india or any other former colony on anything. It may be mere statistics to western people but my family was directly affected by massacre and racist violence so it's personal for many people like me in india. I agree the west should aknolege more, should learn more, maybe even really do reparations.
I myself I'm trying to learn more, and listen, and hunderstand the point of view of colonized peoples (I consider myself western).
I really try to simpathyze, and I think I made progress in that.
Still, I think all of us should know this is really complex.
I'm not trying to be cinycal, but were all colonisations the same? Shoul the UK say I'm sorry to the US too?
Should the US do that to the Philipines, or even Cuba (or Japan - because of the forced trading thing in XIX century)?
I am NOT saying this as an execuse, like trying to dilute, wash away the guilt (historical guilt, at least) just with 'whataboutism'. I am trying to say there's also the historical context.
At what point was some cases (UK colonization of India, for example), different?
I am assuming it was really bad, actually, maybe one of the worst crimes of this kind, and it should be discussed, like many others.
Each case has its own characteristics, by one hand, and they must be known; by the other hand, are they, or are they not, part of the the great tragedies of History?
At what point should this or that event be singled out?
(In my opinion, there is room to consider both each and every one, with their specifics, and also the all of the conflicts and ecploitations of human history. Sorry for my english.)

If (hypothetically speaking) britain starts feeling ashamed of their wrongs and start owing reparation at any cost, they would need to start selling off their land piece by piece and eventually whole uk that much is what they owe
