    Mr. Quick Tip, you said during your review "If you know what is in your fridge, you can delete those from the recipie and not add them to your shopping list." I thought this fridge had some app that used artificial intellegence with the interior cameras to "know" what was in the fridge. Is that true? How does that work? Anything you could tell me about this would be great !

    • @mr.quicktip4758
      @mr.quicktip4758  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question. Here's my take on the matter. Yes, there are cameras that can identify some of the food contained within the fridge, but as it stands, it is not very accurate with the descriptions. Also, you need to click each item and mark as being 'in the fridge." A very tedious process for now. If you click view inside, it shows you what's inside, but that's about as far as it goes. Still not perfect, but they send software updates from time to time. Hopefully this will be addressed soon.

    Thanks for the video! Good stuff - but I would recommend people to NEVER buy their smart-fridge models - I have had so
    many problems with this machine: the manual is HORRIBLE (this is an understatement,) they remove software without telling you/giving you the a
    choice, the manual defrost option is HIDDEN in an secret / undocumented engineering mode (you will need that because their ICE makers will 100% freeze up - check out all the posts on that, etc...). Anyhow - these are good tips and thanks for posting!

    • @mr.quicktip4758
      @mr.quicktip4758  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sorry you've had so much trouble with yours. I can attest to the fact that the ice machine used to freeze over in older models. However, the new ones do not seem to have that issue any longer. I've had mine for 15 months now trouble-free. As far as the manual goes, we live in a time where most electronic devices have instructions within the app, rather than old-school paper manuals. Once you link your frigerator to the Smart Hub app and SmartThings, it is relatively easy to navigate and find everything you need. Most of these new devices are aimed at younger buyers and they know that younger buyers do everything on their phones, computers and tablets. Good luck and thanks for your comment.

    • @scotfromi315
      @scotfromi315 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mr.quicktip4758 That is good to hear that they may have made improvements and hope it remains that way for you. I really wish they would use a wiki to update their documentation since their software is continuously changing - and software impacts hardware - and they disable/enable features. For example they disabled the USB drive for extra picture storage. That was a great idea to build that in but it’s now disabled. They were so close to getting this right but there are big holes for practical life: for example try to find where you can manually defrost your icemaker via the smart hub console. It’s not there or anywhere as a menu option in the software. And don’t get me wrong I have a total 100% smart house but this is one area that is so frustrating that I may be happy going back to a block of ice in a cooler (slight exaggeration)!

    • @mr.quicktip4758
      @mr.quicktip4758  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@scotfromi315 manual defrost is not a feature a normal user would need with a properly working refrigerator. I do however, understand your frustration, seeing as yours seems to have an issue. It's also pretty typical for any manufacturer of any electronic device to remove and add features as they see fit, as tech progresses and certain things go unused by the masses. The fridge has a 3 GB storage and I'm not sure why you would need any more pictures than that at one time. That's adequate storage IMO. The fridge will also show notifications on the screen indicating what features will be removed and when.

    Does n-e-1 of u that owns this exact type of fridge have a problem with the Water💧/ Ice 🧊 Dispenser Light not shutting off 🤔

      Hold down the crushed ice button for 3 seconds and the light should turn off. Then it will only come on when you press on the water dispenser.

      Not exactly aesthetically pleasing, the fridge also has cameras inside to view contents from any location (grocery store) and I am not an Apple user. Good luck though.

      An iPhone can do just about everything except for screen mirroring to the fridge. My wife has an iPhone 13 and I have a Galaxy Z fold 3.

    Pretty Kool tricks and tips but am I the only one who caught what was wrong with how you worded the fridge to phone term you stated about 4 times.
    What you said was," now you can use your phone as your refrigerator!", but that's not possible. I hope you just got it backwards cus that's what you did and actually makes sense. But you can't use your phone as your fridge. How could you keep fridge items in your phone? Maybe everyone just knew what you meant and didn't want to be that asshole. Damn bruh, I just realized I'm that asshole. Well good luck

    • @mr.quicktip4758
      @mr.quicktip4758  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, everyone knew what I meant. You can view the contents of the fridge, create recipes from the ingredients therein and review the shopping list and control every aspect of it including temperature and more, so the terms are almost interchangeable. Your phone does become your fridge when you mirror the screen. Have a good day.

      Not everything is for everyone and I agree that it is definitely like a large tablet on the refrigerator. However, it's extremely practical when you find yourself at the store and want to view inside with the cameras or look at the real time shopping list that any of your family members can update from their phones. You can also link your Ring Doorbell, so that when somebody rings the bell you can see and talk to that person through the refrigerator without having to walk over to the door, which is especially useful if you have a large home and are in the middle of cooking. You can pull up recipes on the very large screen while you're cooking and the screen will not time out so that you can always glance over for reference. Everyone has tried to cook from a recipe on their phone and the screen keeps going black, and it's very small, and you get it dirty with flour and other food ingredients because you have to keep touching it. If you accidentally leave the refrigerator door open, which most of us have at some point, you'll get a notification on your phone for that too.
