I am of the belief that it makes more sense to use the assistants (Alexa/Google) from either your smart phone or your smart watch. Having smart listening devices in every room of the house is invasive and overkill my opinion. 99% of us always have our phone or our watch on our wrist to handle any command. If you have an automatic trash can lid that keeps going up and down and up and down for no reason or stays open, this should help!
Quick and straight to the point, great video! In my case the sensor area of the sticker had a deep scratch so no amount of cleaning was working. Cut it out with an exacto knife, covered with clear tape and problem solved! Thank you!!!
@amyrodriguez4928 glad to help! Putting warm food in the trash can that creates steam causes the build up over time, so just be aware and you'll be ok.
Thank you!! I was about to order another one. I had cleaned off the front with rubbing alcohol, but it was still staying open. I did one more search on fixing it and found this video. As soon as I took the sticker off, it started working. And now it works perfectly. They need to put in a protective plastic cover there instead of a sticker.

@Anthony-tj8dh they could probably add an audio recorder if they wanted to since it has Bixby and Alexa, but it is not there right now. As for taking photos outside, there is only a sensor to wake the screen, not an actual camera, so no.

This worked immediately lol. My sticker was too far gone tho. I just left it off, and trash can works like new again
Yeah, the general issue with these trash cans is folks will put food that is still warm in them, and then the steam will create buildup on the sensor over time.

Haven't been able to get to any of my shopping lists for the past couple days. Yes, I know they recently moved the Shopping Lists but as of two days ago it gets stuck in this Samsung Food loop and can't get to it on either the fridge or the phone. Does anyone know how to get around this now?? As of 2 days ago, when I go to Food, it asks me to about my recipe preferences, when I give them, I get "“Something went wrong, try again later”. I'm just stuck in that loop now and can never get to the shopping cart.
Yes, they changed the location. This frustrated my wife as well. Now you have to add "food" to your favorites, click the arrow on the top right, then click the shopping cart icon on the bottom right for the quickest route. They should have left it alone, but it is what it is. Sometimes updates are a nuisance. Happy shopping. I wish they would just offer a widget for the shopping list. 🤷🏾♂️

I'm afraid not. You'll likely have to send it to the fridge again from your phone. Hopefully you still have that desired photo saved on another device.

Not exactly aesthetically pleasing, the fridge also has cameras inside to view contents from any location (grocery store) and I am not an Apple user. Good luck though.

Pretty Kool tricks and tips but am I the only one who caught what was wrong with how you worded the fridge to phone term you stated about 4 times. What you said was," now you can use your phone as your refrigerator!", but that's not possible. I hope you just got it backwards cus that's what you did and actually makes sense. But you can't use your phone as your fridge. How could you keep fridge items in your phone? Maybe everyone just knew what you meant and didn't want to be that asshole. Damn bruh, I just realized I'm that asshole. Well good luck
Yes, everyone knew what I meant. You can view the contents of the fridge, create recipes from the ingredients therein and review the shopping list and control every aspect of it including temperature and more, so the terms are almost interchangeable. Your phone does become your fridge when you mirror the screen. Have a good day.
Great video. I have a different brand, but cleaning the sensors did the trick. I have a power button, after cleaning I turned it off and took batteries out and put back in.
After my wife and I got a good laugh from your intro and delivery I put aside that 2nd cup of coffee: we have a NINESTARS can with 8 deepset Phillips head screws. Them removed with a long Phillips driver bit on a DeWalt assembly gun there were 2 smaller Phillips screws holding the circuit board which removed exposes the IR sensor on its underside that was dry Q tipped. Same with the underside of the red lens “sticker” without having to pry it off. No water or alcohol needed. The best part was the exposure of the well lubed spring assemblies and the small servo motor. I sprayed some silicone lube on the pins and joints because I could, put it all back together and it stopped ghosting /sticking part way open, just like new ! Coffee was still hot when I hit the couch.

Worked great, thanks for the tip! My sticker didn't come off easy so it is a bit blemished. I am wondering if using a blow dryer or heat gun would do the trick to remove the moisture under the sticker, as it seems condensation was mostly my issue (didn't seems dirty). In any case it would help remove the sticker easier 😅
How do you get your ice maker to be your ice maker. That is the biggest issue with this thing!
lol sounds like you just need to go into settings and turn on the ice maker function. There is an on/off toggle. I'm pretty sure that's all it is. 👌🏾

Make sure you are connected to the internet. If that doesn't work, at the top of the screen go to settings and then scroll down to "language and time."

Yeah I believe Netflix is a little bit different. Mirror your phone screen to the refrigerator and play Netflix from your phone.
do they not support the early models of the fridge? mine is on Tizen 3.0 in software settings, there is no swipe up or down functionality for apps/control and no spotify/bixby/alexa…
There should be an option under settings for a software update.

Hey is that smart view is working in iPhone ?
Smart view is one of the only features that cannot be used with iphone. Pretty much every other feature is available. I have a Samsung and my wife has an iPhone.

Our fridge came a million apps leaving very limited space for pics or the apps we want. How can I fix this?
How much room do you need for photos? It's not meant to be a hard drive. You can easily sway them out when needed.

@Zehra711 if you swipe up and see all apps, it should definitely be there. Then long press the icon for shopping list and drag it to whichever home screen. Or long press, then tap "add to home"

Does n-e-1 of u that owns this exact type of fridge have a problem with the Water💧/ Ice 🧊 Dispenser Light not shutting off 🤔
Hold down the crushed ice button for 3 seconds and the light should turn off. Then it will only come on when you press on the water dispenser.

What model Samsung TV does this work with? I may be in the market soon for a new Samsung TV to replace my older TV and want to guarantee compatability.
It should be compatible with any model 2020 or newer. In this video is a 70" crystal UHD 2020 model.

I couldn't find the settings smart view on my s22. Help please
You can swipe down from the top of the screen on your phone and you will get the quick settings. Smart view should be there in one of the 3 screen menus by swiping right. If you still can't do it that way, just swipe down on the screen of your refrigerator and tap smart view and then it will find your phone.
how about iPhone? would it work with iPhone too?
Everything works except screen mirroring. Wifey has an iPhone.

Awesome info about this family Hub..I'm considering one of this models. But can I use my streaming apps from my galaxy phone as well. I like old movies well I clean or cook sometimes.
Once you mirror your screen to the refrigerator, anything that you play on your phone will play on the refrigerator screen as well, as long as it's a Samsung or android phone.
So ur telling me I don’t have to worry about my wife going through my phone…but the refrigerator ?🤔
can you still send memo to the fridge from the phone?
While you can't technically send a memo, a workaround would be to create a memo on your phone and take a screenshot because you can send images and video clips to the refrigerator. Hope that helps.
