The longer you don’t transfer the temporary, the more points you’ll actually get per turn. So it’s actually more beneficial to not transfer until you have a few points saved up.

@musicbyxj No its a game where you don't know the rules and the point is to try to figure them out through context clues. Figure them out enough to win.
At the beginning of the video, they get two in a row correct and it goes from 1 to 3. But they somehow missed that and that led to the misunderstanding.

@@musicbyxj it's not explained but it happened the first time, they did it, they went from 1 to 3 temp, they just didn't attempt. It again afterwards, it just takes some trial and error, that's why the instructions also say not to fear failure, the boys just don't/didn't try

some people get a dopamine rush by playing slot machines, and some people get a dopamine rush by waiting to see if their boys at SGS accidentally get two in a row and stumble upon the answer
Edit: to be clear, I freaking love these boys and this game was ridiculous. Plus, its a lot easier to focus while watching a video instead of making (free!) entertainment for the whole world to see. This video was a great watch, but I got so worked up when they almost rolled a new number instead of storing their points 🤣
It's like they knew not to use a bucket with holes but never thought to try a different bucket.

Seeing the 'Round 2' pop up fucking broke me. My neighbors think I've cracked.
Each time you get one correct, the little pip lights next to the temporary number increases. That tells you how much you will gain when you get the next one correct. So if you make a streak of 5 correct, it will go 1 - 3 - 6 - 10 - 14.
You want to use the lights when ever you want to make your own luck because they move faster when you are making your luck, but cannot move if lights are on. Use it when you get middle numbers to play it safe and not lose streak progress.
This is exactly what I was talking about in the video. Thank you for the facts.

I feel like this is an important lesson in game design, to the folks out there. Different people can look at the exact same information in front of them, and you, me, and the game designer could say "yeah that's obvious enough," while three others will be completely oblivious.
@@jessecox To be fair, I picked up some fo the rules you guys didn't, but I still feel this game was pretty abstruse.
It's a great comfort, knowing a few things in this world don't change, one of them being Davis or Jesse asking good questions, only to be drowned out by Alex's overconfidence.
Despite that, Davis' nervousness and Jesses laugh always make for great entertainment.
But truly, the game could have made it more obvious that the lights next to the "temporary" show how many points you get for guessing correctly on the current stage without storing.
It also took me a while to figure that's probably what was happening
Jesse sorta intuits the whole vibe of the game halfway through, you're not supposed to bank all the time because you get a multiplier, you can use the lights along with 'make your own luck' to accumulate temp points and multiply them. Doing it 1 by 1 is the slowest possible method.

No matter how rough things get, this is always a good way to forget the BS by watching the boys
So they question why you wouldn't bank every time but then NEVER test what happens if you don't bank. Never change SGS, never change.

uhh.. I saw that they did try not bank/ transfer very on and basically if you failed all unbanked points were removed but it seemed like no penalty for banking.. so they did not try again
That crab claw in the main menu was specifically for the contest, what's supposed to be there is that creepy, smiling, corpse thing. Also, now you don't have to complete the game multiple times to get all the tapes and the true ending. There's a setting in the options that allow you to unlock all of them immediately and you can play the true ending after playing the final tape.

Yeah I haven't played the game, the whole time I'm thinking there must be a streak bonus though, otherwise there really would be no point in not just banking it straight away. Part of me was frustrated, but I'm honestly just used to it with these guys by now lol, it's part of the charm
This annoyed me so much, and I really love SGS. The guys are usually really good at figuring things out, sometimes way before it's revealed. But this time they stopped questioning things and assumed they figured everything out.
Nevermind that there were at least two mechanics/buttons that seemingly had no use in the game (in their version of the game) - banking/transfer and try your luck.
Developers don't put useless buttons in games for no reason.
And they did do that the very first time
Overthinking and not actually doing anything is SGS 101. I might give up on these boys soon. I can't stand Davis on the controls.

Watching the Squad's gameplay vs. Markiplier's gameplay makes me appreciate good Risk Assessment skills... Or lack thereof 🤣🤣

Also their is hidden lore in this game if you turn around and look at the door on your right their will be a contraption clicking it reveal the previous subjects who went through these "trails" if you beat all 3 rounds you unlock more pictures & more audio logs. As far as i know, no one knows whats behind the door. Today Was Special
You push your luck whenever the number is in the middle range(like 9-12ish) and use the light during that moment. That way you can avoid ever losing.
They didn't notice their first 2 attempts got them +1 then +2 to a total of 3, that derailed the rest of the vid haha.

Oof, poor Davis. I feel like transferring every point instantly made this a lot harder. At the beginning the second guess you won gave you two points, so I'm guessing the more you have banked the more points you get. Still, you muscled through it like champs.
So you realize you'll have to revisit this game to redeem yourselves, right?
I found it funny they kept saying "statistically" even during the round where probability was not on their side. 😂😂
That one time Davis picked over because of probability but was outwardly betting it would be under. LOL. I said the same thing because STATISTICALLY... that round was really fukking them... roughly. 😭
It's so frustrating, but hilarious, that they immediately assume they should bank every time without any consideration that there's a reason it's even an option
Sometimes Alex just get a theory and shoots down every other possible idea with his overwhelming confidence and it so funny but so painful

I think shotgun roulette reminded a bunch of devs you can just put a horror coat of paint on any old gambling game and it's fairly compelling. Can't wait for gun to your head solitaire.

I actually like that there's more of these kinds of random chance horror games. Been playing a bunch of Shotgun Roulette too. More Inscryption vibes than this, but a fun "odds" game.

It's actually impressive how the the moment they think to maybe use the temp banking, they get the wheel of fate, which reset their counter.

This one was a little frustrating to watch with how dense the Squad is when it comes to figuring out rules.
Glad I'm not the only one. Can't win it all if you don't take any risks! Kinda like their Pizzeria Simulator playthrough, in that sense.

I was so excited for the boys to discover the lore for this game because it's SO up their alley...
So, they absolutely could've gotten more of a payout if they held onto their temporary, yeah?
At first I understood why they would use a statistical strategy to win, but then I realized it's basically gambling. Think of the over under as a 20 sided die. Maybe 2 times out of 10 you'll be right but that's it. Take a chance and take risks. Don't fear failure.

It's a really fine balance to get a game where the goal is finding out the rules of the game between too simple to offer challenge and too hidden to offer interaction, especially because even in a standard audience you can easily make the intended band fall between the two and miss entirely. Especially when you want a certain number of failures to let the story unfold but not so many that there's nothing to reveal left.
Definitely just an average day in Vegas, complete with the one-armed bandit and a one more chance before the fail state. At first I don't know what the heck was going on but the more I watch the more I want to beat the odds, who cares about the monsters anymore 😆

Because I haven't seen it posted yet. This is a prequel to Silk Bulb test which the squad played the demo(?maybe it was the alpha version I don't remember) a couple months back. There is definitely some lore missing I would love to see the guys uncover it and hear their thoughts.

This game needed like one extra line in the help notes along the lines of "more consecutive pulls, more points per roll" because that mechanic isn't obvious if you never bank past 1 (and for safety, why wouldn't you?)
