Balatro Everyday Playlist: • Balatro Daily ep1: Beg...
Made accessible for beginners but deep enough for more experienced players as well. In the third episode of the Balatro Basics series, we focus on the Endgame. What game pieces do we need to win, and how to do we get there? Always, how should we be spending our money?
(Version 1.0.0n)
The Checkered Deck is unlocked by clearing the Black Deck, not stake.
Oops! Thanks for the correction.
@@drspectredwill you make a video on how to win with black deck? It’s killing me. 😂

one of the early balatro daily ones goes over it, like ep 5-8 i think @@VoidFishy-0757
@@spindlywebs ah, good call
I really enjoy watching these videos, thanks for making them. I'm still terrible at the game but now I get to say "all right we have the technology, we're online" before leaving the shop and losing the next blind
i LOVE his little catchphrases
@@spindlywebs"the technology" phrase has been creeping into other areas of my life in amusing ways. 😆
The nonchalance on the Yorick sell was incredible
A true professional.
Just as it became useful as well 😅
Alas, poor Yorick
Gave me a heart attack
As soon as it happened I rushed to the comments
I have what might be a fun idea for content: Asking viewers to submit videos of their full games (especially newer players). You could make a video series going through a game and critiquing their choices, suggesting what might be a better play in each situation, etc. If you want to keep with the university theme, you could even give them a letter grade at the end too!
I know I would definitely love to watch that and it would be pretty informative on what to do in situations you might not end up in as often with more optimal play.
That’s a really good idea
I hope he does it
@@benjaminotting9993has he done it yet?
For a future video, I'd really like to know more about how to build for super high scoring hands in unseeded runs for endless mode, I've been really struggling with getting the 100 million chips in a single hand to unlock stuntman, and in a wider scope I find Ante 12 feels like a complete brick wall even on runs that were going well up to that point, so something that helps in that regard would be greatly appreciated.
bloodstone blueprint dice hanging chad or something to retrigger a bunch of lucky cards will shoot past 100 million
@@typicalsheep5970 Thanks for coming back to this so much later! Have actually improved a lot since the time I posted the original comment and already got well over 100 million now, but thank you regardless!
Loving this series. I think the next lessons should be about the different decks and how they change your strategy (like how do you manage money when you don't have interest with the green deck? how do you make good use of the free telescope from the nebula deck? etc.) and then after that (or maybe alternating?) some videos about the different Stakes levels would be useful.
Edit: Ooh or maybe some guides to unlocking the harder jokers and vouchers, like 100,000,000 points, $400, Hand Size 5, etc.
Green Deck encourages spending your money more, due to the lack of interest, also makes the hand/discard vouchers very valuable, due to them giving you more potential money per round. Probably makes Vagabond and Credit Card not _terrible_ pickups
1:29:20 ..so much for Yorick's most excellent fancy
Amazing content. I am a new player and these videos are outstanding. Thank you for your time and expertise
Thanks for stopping by.
this video didnt go into my subscriptions page for some reason
recently got my first good endless run, hitting e32 with baron and mime. Thank you for your teaching Dr. Spectred
I didnt have it in the subscriptions page, too.Has already happened sometimes with your channel. Idk if you have to check a box when uploading..
Just finished the 3 basics into videos. This is exactly what I needed got stuck on green stake
Thanks for your content and time truly appreciate it. The ending helped a ton too last 3 minutes explaining how you got there and what to do if things don't exactly go that way cause no unneeded run is the same thanks.
just started about a week ago.. beat ante 8 for the first time today got 2 more done. got all the way up to ante 11 and had a hand score 2.1 million points. your videos have been crucial to my enjoyment of the game and understanding of it because man is there a lot to learn!
Love the basics! Would like am advanced series on medium and high stakes to increase my win rate on those difficulties
these guides were so useful, thank you!
Another Half Joker drawback (14:00): playing only 3 cards lets you draw only 3 cards, if you aren't winning on the first hand.
57:20 Full House and Pair are tied for telescope. Does it give you a random one or go high?
It defaults to whatever is the highest ranking
You have an excellent teaching manner. Loving your vids
Id love a basic breakdown on high ante play! Your other videos helped a lot to get my highscore (naninf next :>) but seeing the tips condensed and showing off multiple seeds in the same vid would be cool. Thats a lot of work tho tbf
I watched Balatro Basics 1 and 2 as well, and I'm still figuring out if you're either extremely lucky, or so skilled at the game that you can make any joker and build look like it was premeditated. Standby... I'm still watching. 😄
Loving this series so far! Can you go over tips for beating the middle-ish stakes? Even starting with Green, the first ramp up of scoring can be so hard sometimes
Your explainer videos are excellent! Have you considered doing them for other games too?
rip Yorick 😭
Man, I know the point is to make an educational video about closing out the 8th ante. But not getting to see the Yorick payoff really hurt.
checkered deck is unlocked by beating a run with the black deck, not the black stake.
It's funny you recommend the yellow as the starter deck bc that was the last one I cleared on white stake as I didn't value the interest mechanic and just played around the decks how I thought I could to win without managing my money barely at all
You cleared with black deck before yellow? Mad respect. Black took me longer than all the rest combined.
@@JoeTheisI’ve gotten to the last blind on black deck twice and sold 💀 when if i had just one more hand i would win
@@JoeTheisI cleared black just yesterday but still haven't besten yellow
Man i tought of something to break the world record of points, what about getting the voucher that multiplies your score by 1.5 when you have your most played hand planet card in the consumable spot and creating tons of them with perkeo, blueprints and brainstorms ?
You might like my Balatro Science playlist
Not spoiling the science videos if you want to watch them, but at some point he even sells the 40ish (iirc) planets each worth 40ish (iirc again) dollars for 1600+. Because there is another consumable that gives you more than x1.5 per copy
"i dont need lovers"
We all do bruv
I cant put the Checkered deck down. Im always flushing. But i cant seem to get past the purple stake.
do you get a good chips generator?
Tbh the way I beat checkered in gold (my first and only gold clear) was by using straights, which are already stronger than flushes which is important because of how many chips you need at higher stakes as well utilizing the ability to lean into straight flushes once you have enough tarot to convert to mostly one suit. Combine that with some straight jokers and some suit jokers for mult, chips, and xmult and you are set. Flushes just never scaled enough for me past ante 6 or 7 on gold stake

I'm sure people ask this a lot, but are the alt colors an unlock or a mod?
or is it just an accessibility feature?

Again, I want a Joker tier list. Jokers are so confusing to me. I have so many questions that would be solved by you doing some sort of video just about giving all the Jokers a concise rating. Which is better, Dusk or Acrobat? They come off like the same card. Is Yorick the worst Legendary Joker? These are just two examples. If you can't do a video focused on just the Jokers, maybe recommend someone else who has done such a thing?
Jokers can be quite situational. Playing at low stake vs high stake changes your approach, and going for high scores is very different from beating ante 8 consistently.
It also comes down a lot to what your deck is doing. In the case of Dusk/Acrobat, retriggering is really good if you have a lot of on-card effects that you're playing (either jokers that give bonuses when cards are played, or editions like polychrome). Acrobat is a straight mult multiplier so in the average case it's going to be better because retriggering standard cards doesn't add mult. Even with enhancements, Dusk will effectively double your Mult card from +4 to +8, whereas Acrobat triples it to +12.
As for a general tier list, I liked Roffle's a lot but it's for gold stake, so in some cases the strats for lower stakes will be different.
