Nah it's to prevent you ripping 'them' off. by marking cards with your nail or some other way (seen some real crazy ways to mark cards in a documentary involving uv or ir paints).
But yeah prepare to be ripped off when going to a casino, since in the long run: "the house always wins".

Okay. So I’m used to at home black jack. Can you split if the card values are the same but different suits? (I.e. club 9 diamond 9 or king and 10)
In blackjack what’s the security risk??? If they can deal face down blackjack and touch what’s the difference in face up security wise??

I always thought when you split you put the chips to the side of your pile, and when you want to double down, they go behind your pile. How would you not touch your chips, if you need to add more?
Once they’re placed as a wager they can’t be touched. Chips still in your stack you’re free to touch as you please. You can only split and double down for up to your wager, so once they are placed as a wager you should never need to touch them anyways.

The biggest security risk to a casino is a mob that's about the same size that stormed the capital fully armed and just taking over the casino and taking everything going out too many people to deal with if the guards try to use their firearms they're just going to get mowed down and maybe too much for the police to handle and by the time they activate the guardians they have dispersed

I’ve only been in a casino once
I sat down at a full $5 black jack table and just got washed down lost a few hundo
My buddy grabbed me and took me to the high stakes table that no one was playing
That dealer was patient and taught me a shitload about blackjack
I won a couple thousand and gave him a $500 tip….
I figured out his wages probly sucked and wasn’t getting many tips since the table was empty
He was excited to see me win and I was excited to thank him for the lessons.

You didn’t really answer the why though. Dealer sees (2) 9’s, camera sees two nines moving them apart makes no difference especially at a $10 bet level as shown.
Also casinos like The Orleans have face down blackjack where you hold the cards. If they can do that why can’t everywhere?
