    Hi Tim! I’ve been using the Helikon-Tex “Numbat” chest rig. A bit smaller than yours, but that fact also keeps me from overloading it, which also helps with downward visibility. Has some nice features, great organization as well. It’s another option that’s worth a look if someone is considering one.

      @KuukkeliBushcraft  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think you told me about this in a comment a while back. Might have been on the Swedish webbing video (that was a while ago now). Mine is a little bit on the large size. It doesn't seem to affect my downward vision too much but it does get in the way a little.
      Thanks for watching mate and for the suggestion.

    Hey Tim. Great comparison of two cool blades! I like how you mentioned the higher grind of the OK4, something I really like. I think an OK4 and a GK (one for wood and one for crud) combined with a Mora 1/0 is my favorite combo for hikes, but one thing I truly lack is a beast to protect me from squirrels. Thanks for a cool video on my question. I think I'll make my 1st graders watch it tomorrow. Cheers mate!

      Hi Chris, you are teaching your first graders about knives? The mighty squirrel botherer found lots of animals to bark at yesterday. Then we went to visit freinds and she got growled and barked at a lot by something not much bigger than a squirrel. She is very patient with anything that she recognises as a dog. Will put them in their place if need be though and definitely doesn't like puppies very much 🤣

    Two of my favorite knives on the title. I have a chest rig myself. Im trying to make it a survival type bag. Then my pack will change depending on my mission (for lack of civil phrasing)
    I love fishing along rivers- my other pack 2-3 day hike camping.
    Im trying to set the chest rig so i don't have repack everytime. That's how you forget things.
    I have a bag with water bottle and stove plus drink powder and coffee.
    I love my Hultafor OK4. Haven't found anything it won't do.
    I like the Garberg more after i re-did the edge. I wasn't a fan with its factory edge. After a half-hour on the stones its a different animal now. I prefer the higher grind myself.
    I also love the Coldsteel SRK-C.
    Anyone of those i would feel safe any place. Of course i was trained back before it was called bushcraft. Back then it was wilderness survival skills. Also went to a few survival courses. An did adventurer training as a boyscout. When boyscout meant boys. Lol.
    Just having some fun.

      I think one of these would be great for fishing. I am thinking that a different chest rig for different activities (you can tell I have never been in the military, I don't do missions🤣). This one is duel purpose at the moment. Navigation and fire, well and mobile and some photography stuff. I also have a water bottle pouch set up for hobo fishing.
      Thanks for watching mate. Hope you have a fantastic weekend.

    I am a two meter tall man with big feet, somewhat clumsy. I have never liked things in my shirt chest pockets as the obstruct my downward vision in rough country. No problem on roads, maintained trails and paths, I suppose. I prefer a small rucksack or hip or bum sack, easy on, easy off.
    Never used any of the bigger Mora knives but have made and taught how to make many knives out of the Mora 106 and 120 blades that are outstanding and do work way above their pay grade. I carry a axe for beating wood into smaller pieces and defense against things that go bump in the night.

    • @KuukkeliBushcraft
      @KuukkeliBushcraft  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't seem to have that problem, maybe I am walking with a stoop that helps me see over my chest 🤣. I would imagine it could be problematic scrambling up hillsides but it is pretty flat here in Finland.
      The smaller Moras are great too. For working with wood a short blade is generally better. Expecially if you have an axe.

      I like Lapland red ale but in reality that's not very Finnish. There are a few beers modeled on foreign beers but regular Finnish beer is quite plain. Compared to Belgian beer it is like sex in a boat, f##### close to water 🤣.

  • @greekveteran2715
    @greekveteran2715 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Garberg has the worst handle and the worst blade shape (Steep belly on the edge) compared to any other Morakniv. I much prefer the Bushcraft Black. Even the Robust, is a better choice, from any point of view. TH-cam amd marketing, at some point pushed knives to a wrong path. Others do even worse mistakes, making Scnadis that are 4mm and even thicker, poor edge and main bevel geometries, thick behind the edge knives and so on.

    • @KuukkeliBushcraft
      @KuukkeliBushcraft  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the grind should be higher on the Garberg. It's something that knife manufacturers seem to forget that as the blade gets thicker the grind should get higher with a micro bevel, then a secondary bevel until it's not a scandi anymore. I am fine with the handle myself but I think the Garberg is designed as a short pry bar. The Mora companion is a much more multifunctional tool.
