    I have a 16 pro max that I just got, and I wondered why it felt off. I have experienced the touch issues, but I also noticed it didn’t look as smooth. Originally thought it was due to the bigger screen size, while not a massive changed I thought maybe it might be throwing my eyes off for a while. I have a 14pro max that I use for work and I just decided to put them side by side and do some scrolling. Even if you just put them on the Home Screen and swipe back and forth between app pages it’s a massive difference. 14 pro max is way smoother, as someone who has been using 120hz phones for the last 4-5 years, both iPhone and android, this is a massive disappoint.

I'm furious they didn't bring 120Hz or even 90Hz to the standard iPhone this year, with a bump to 144 or 240 for the Pro... but instead they used the SAME screen for both, and crippled the standard model to 60Hz... and it turns out they're also crippling the Pro models to 80Hz most of the time... it's disrespect. Just blatant disrespect. Same with USB2 speeds on the standard model. On the 15, the different chip architecture maybe justified that. Now the architecture is the same, no excuses. One thing to keep in mind: when you lock and hide an app on your iPhone, it moves to the hidden folder. Apple claims it’s hidden so well that even a search won’t reveal it. However, if you go to your battery settings and check the Battery Usage section, the hidden app will still appear there, making it easy to spot.

    It is noticeable, I came searching for a video on this because the display felt strange for 120Hz. I’m okay with adaptive refresh rate, however the adaptivity is not very great tbh. The throttling is a little too aggressive.

  • @mjen208
    @mjen208 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    this is my one of the main bonuses of having 120 Hz is for scrolling. I noticed it doesn’t look as smooth as my Samsung. I’ve had iPhone 16 Pro Max for three days now. The first day took an entire day to get it set up because contacts were not updating to iCloud properly. For the first two days I’ve had the touchscreen freezing problem. And I don’t think it’s from touching the screen by the camera button. It seems like I have to press harder on the top of the screen. And when you add a screen protector, you have to press harder to register. It should not be throttling scrolling. And they finally made it possible to move icons on the home screen, but it’s still moving all the other icons when you try to do so. Ridiculous. and the microphone doesn’t work when trying to translate in keyboards. I’ve tried several. Voice to text isn’t very accurate. And a little slow. Everything just takes longer on the Apple. And the back swipe gesture should work all the time no matter what. Not only 50% of the time. I’ve been wanting an iPhone for the better camera and videos, and this is the first time the screen is comparable or a little better than my Samsung. And still lots of problems that should’ve been fixed years ago, Apple.

    • @mjen208
      @mjen208 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      besides the screen touch problem, the second biggest issue was yesterday my microphone just turned off by itself. I couldn’t use voice to text or Siri or anything. Until I restarted it, I’ve never had that on a Samsung since S1

    It was always like that when promotion displays to iphones were presented. 80hz most of the time from 13pro era. Android flagships are doing the same with LTPO displays but less aggressive in scrolling cases. Its adaptive screen up to 120hz. This how they always advertised.
