This really is no disrespect to the Women on the stage, but I wonder what MS. Diahann Carroll thought of how sloppy Women dress in the last 15 years or so? I loved how classy and how much care black people put into how they looked and appeared in public. I tend to follow the old school way where I will not wear just anything when I leave the house and especially if you are a single Women, because you never know when you will meet that "special" person LOL. ;)
I live for Miss. Carroll! She was the best. I can listen to her talk all day. I miss her so much. I’m glad to have come across this interview, it was great! ❤️
Great ending statement Ms. Diahanne Caroll. I loved her in Paris Blues, Dynasty, The Natalie Cole Story and of course one of my favorite movies, Claudine!!!! The film and soundtrack was AMAZING!!! Rest well.
I LOVE Lisagay and agree with her last statement on not trying to fit into Hollywood! I Appreciated her documentary on Ms. Beah! Such rich talent. May Ms. Beah rest well.
It's SO crazy Ms. Diahann Carroll and her childhood friend, Diana Sands.....both passed away from cancer. Also: I didn't realize Lisa Gay Hamilton (Prince Markie Dee's love interest, in "Krush Groove--1985" and the younger version of Oprah, in "Beloved"--1998) and Gina Rock-by-the-Wood ("DANCING IN SEPTEMBER" is a CLASSIC, for me) were here. I know they introduced themselves, and Lisa mentioned "Krush Groove".....but, I assumed it was behind the scenes!! Jesus, I'm old!! Lastly, watching segments like this reminds me why I've always had an internal threshold, while chasing the entertainment business. Images, legacy and influence are powerful.
I simply adore Diahanne Caroll and she was so beautiful. In this interview however, she seems somewhat disconnected (is it the beginning stages of alzheimer's?). She could not remember that Dorothy Dandridge was in Carmen Jones, the same film Diahann starred in with her. I did not understand that? Nevertheless, I just thought Diahanne was such a dignified, classy and beautiful actress. May she Rest in Peace.
I respectfully disagree with the casting director regarding reality stars. Reality stars are like a step below or in between theater actors and sitcom actors. Once upon a time it was the same concern with casting hip hop artist. I want an REAL ACTOR not a hip hop singer...LOL. We would not have artist such as Todd Smith AKA LL Cool J, Dana Jones AKA Queen Latifiah or Will Smith aka Fresh Prince. I'm sure you know what they all done in Hollywood. There are several reality stars who transition well such as Tami Akbar (now Tami Roman) - Real World. Tami is doing very well. She's still growing/developing her craft as an actress but honestly can hold her own. She is diverse too with great comedic timing on The Ms. Pat Show and has done several dramatic roles in film and TV along side Oscar winner Octavia Spencer. Yaya DeCosta ( ANTM) was the lead in Whitney Houston biopic! She is also starring in a new television show to say the least. TI, Nene, Kandy. I can give you more examples but will end here. If you're good, you are good. All one need is an opportunity. BTW I am not into the fighting on reality TV etc (I do not watch) but fair is fair. I say focus on the talent. Thanks for reading...LOL. I invite you to listen to my new song, YOU'RE NOT ALONE by eLL B. streaming on all music sites. Be encourage. God Loves you.
Diahann Carroll kept it real about Tyler Perry. "He has his confusions too"
Yes she did…wow
Thank you! I wanted to see what Diahann Carroll has to say!
Thank you for posting! Oh gosh how I miss Ms. Diahann Carroll. Rest well

I've been waiting on this entire video to be posted! Thanks for doing so....🙂👍👏

Holy crap. The late, Leonard Nimoy was one of the financial sponsors for this fabulousness!!? My goodness!!

Can't we just face the fact that some of the characters portrayed by actors are women that actually exist? They do these roles because they are funny.
I think the issue for these ladies is that these are roles that could be filled by an actress.
