Ms Carroll was elegance, beauty, poise and class personified. A lady as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. She was an amazing talent and a true trailblazer who broke down barriers. Her perfect diction came through when she sang. That lady had such a beautiful voice. We are lucky to have her recordings. What a fascinating and intelligent woman. She truly was one of a kind. I met her in the 1980’s in Cardiff South Wales. It was a Vic Damon’s concert. This was just before they married and were engaged. He brought her on stage and she sang. Everyone was captivated by her incredible voice and beauty. There was a Lord Mayor reception afterwards, they both attended. She was so natural and gracious. As for her beauty, her skin was flawless. A 20 year old would have killed for skin like hers. She was late 40’s at this time and was on Dynasty. But she made time for everyone there who wanted to talk to her. It really was an honour to meet this wonderful lady. RIP Ms Carroll, heaven has a new angel.

Miss. Carroll was known for how eloquent her diction was. Thats not condescending to say. Im Black & said that about her all the time! It was one of the things i loved most about her. Never meant it as anything but a compliment... 😒

Ya'll need to stop getting offended by everything. I am black and even I would call that Ms. Caroll eloquent . She sounds more eloquent than most black AND white people. Her accent reminds me of the Mid-Atlantic accent. So sophisticated and lucid.

Great Interview. Great host. Although he dropped the ball a bit when he was throwing out famous names, he could have asked her about Marilyn Monroe. Diahann and Marilyn chatted at the reception after Marilyn's infamous Happy Birthday performance for JFK in 1962. Although I've heard Diahann speak about that elsewhere.

If the girls were after what Ms. Carroll was after, then I could see your point. It was her career that she used as the catalyst for her different approach to her dialogue.
But your many Black girls comment seems more self serving for you.
Black girls and other girls, and guys, speak in their comfort zones.
Your discomfort with many Black females style of dialogue is quite suspect, to me, Mrs. CHEW.
